I’m Back!!

Good afternoon!

This year Jason and I stayed in town and spent Thanksgiving with his family! After some gentle prodding from my sister, Alexa, I am very excited to share some of our family’s Thanksgiving dinner pictures with you! 🙂

1Here is my sweetie proudly carving the Thanksgiving turkey!! Can you see the pride on his face??? 🙂

2Check out this spread!! Everyone brought a little something to share in the feast!! 🙂

3It was CROWDED!!! It was decided that if we wanted to try and squeeze any more people into my sister’s place, we were going to have to rent a hall!! 😉

4Here’s some of the crowd!! From left to right, Morgan, Jason, me, Rudy, Alyssa, Kayla, Derrick, Anna, Gabriel (only the top of his head is showing), Megan, Julian, and Jordan!

5Here is Grandma and Grandpa Feskens, and I am not sure what has Morgan laughing – but I LOVE seeing him look so happy!! 😉 The kids did such a great job being patient and waiting for everyone to get to the table, so that we could pray, before they could eat!! There was almost an audible cheer when the kids were finally given permission to eat!!

6Here is mom hanging out in comfy chair that was tucked in the corner!!! The BEST seat in the house! 🙂

7Derrick and Anna! I am not sure what they were discussing, but aren’t they cute?? 🙂

8My niece, Kayla, and I! 🙂 I love this little fancy girl!! 🙂

9Grandma and Grandpa Feskens, with mom smiling in the background! 🙂

10Rudy, Alyssa, and Kayla!! Having enjoyed a yummy meal! Waiting for pie!! 😉

11Kayla and Gabriel!!! These kids are growing up sooooo fast!! 😉

12Here is Julian enjoying his turkey leg!!! 😉

13Cousins, Riley and Christopher – ABSOLUTELY inseparable!!! These two are practically young men!! Where does the time go???

14Uncle Jay-Jay harrasing Chris!! They have so much fun together!! 🙂

15Jason getting ready to mow down on his Thanksgiving dessert stash!! Fruit salad, sweet potato souffle, and green frozen jello!

16I can’t remember what I was talking about it, but apparently arm motions were definitely required to get my point across! 🙂

17Riley and Chris again, being silly!! 🙂

18Jason and Kayla!! She is such a snuggly girl!! 🙂

19Yep! This is Jason and I! I really do love this man!! 😉

Happy Thanksgiving!

Good evening!

I am posting much later than I usually do, but that is because I have just finished having a lovely Thanksgiving day with our friends Dawn and Errin! We had a large Thanksgiving dinner, played a few rounds of Taboo, fun game, hadn’t played that in a VERY long time!! Then we watched a Christmas movie, Scrooged, had some pie – YUM!! and finally ended the evening with laughter with some Jeff Dunham. I am so thankful for so many things this Thanksgiving, that I thought I would share a list of things that I am thankful for…

  1. I am uniquely and wonderfully made, by a God who loves me even more than I could ever imagine
  2. God has provided everything that my husband and I have ever needed and more.
  3. My husband is extremely supportive, and is one of the funniest people – I am so thankful to have him in my life
  4. I have an amazing family that loves me
  5. I have close friends that I can share my hopes and dreams with and that I know have my back
  6. I have a job that most people would dream of that has great pay and amazing bennies
  7. I have a roof over my head, one that I am allowed to paint, and remodel, and decorate to my hearts content
  8. I have a safe, comfortable vehicle that has done an amazing job at getting us from point a to point b
  9. I live in a free country where I am allowed to speak my mind, and live the life that I want to live
  10. Life is just so precious, and I am so thankful that I get to live my day every single day, just to see what happens next

Have a a FABULOUS evening!!

Ready for Thanksgiving!

Good evening!

I have had a pretty darn good day today! It completely helped that today is my Friday to a 4-day weekend, I got off work a little early this afternoon, and that my sweetie has been completely and totally charmingly helpful this evening! What a gem he is!!!

Not only that, but he has single-handedly prepped everything for Thanksgiving dinner, so besides the actual cooking, everything that can be ready for Thanksgiving is ready. WHEW!! Although he did get enough groceries to feed an army!!!  LOL!!

Tomorrow, we are expecting our very good friends, Dawn and Errin to join us for our Thanksgiving !! I am so excited, I really can not wait!! I am also planning on making the calls to all the family to make sure that the family is doing well, and enjoying their Thanksgivings as well!! I just need to make sure that I don’t get so busy that I forget! SHEESH!! That would make me bad daughter/sister for the year!!! 😉

What are all of your plans for Thanksgiving? Are you planning on spending it with your loved ones?

So for some randomness:

It has been a really rainy week here in Oregon, matter of fact, I am wondering when it is going to start flooding here, if it hasn’t already! I absolutely adore rainy days, which is one of the main reasons I live here in Oregon.  I was reading today that 2 of the top 50 healthiest US cities for Women are Seatlle, WA, which is #15, and Beaverton, OR/Vancouver, WA are #30, which makes me happier about living here, but makes me think about the possibility of moving up north to either Portland or Seattle again. Anyway, I am not sure where those thoughts came from, but I am just keepin’ it real here!! 😉

Anyway, I am off to enjoy the rest of my night!

Have a FABULOUS evening! ;-)

Blessings & Birthdays!

Whew!!! It is officially the end of Friday and these past two to days have seemed to be a whirlwind of fun!!

Yesterday we celebrated Thanksgiving at Jason’s mom’s place and we had a blast. Unfortunately my camera has crapped out so I was able to get 0 photos – BOO! HISS! Oh well, maybe I will just have to ask Santa for a new camera so that I can keep up with my hobby of photography.

So yesterday it was my job, along with my 7 year old niece to make the deviled eggs. What I was not aware of, however was that my niece LOVES hard boiled eggs and has the life philosophy that if, as she is pealing an egg, and it should break, then they are no longer deemed worthy of the deviled egg plate – hence she can just eat them to put them out of her misery! Cute, but NO!!! She ended up breaking sooooo many eggs that at dinner time she actually passed on the deviled egg platter as it came around because she had already eaten something like 4 whole eggs! Gotta love my girl!!!!!

After dinner, most of us managed to go for a quick walk in the neighborhood, which was good since the group was seeming a little cooped up. Then a few of us adults hung around to play the game Mad Gabs – WHAT A HOOT!!! That game is so much harder than it seems – I may have to pick this up, so I always have it on hand – could be fun at dinner parties!!!

To say the least – we had FUN!!!

As for today, it is my Sweetie’s 35th birthday and we literally spent the day doing WHATEVER he wanted to do! FUN!!! I won’t go into all of the details here, but we did a lot of walking around downtown checking out all of the French/European stores, made a pit stop at Great Harvest Bread Company – Yum, checked out this great kitchenware store for some supplies, and eventually made it back to Bentley’s for an absolutely DIVINE dinner!!! All-in-all, a damn near perfect day!!!

Happy Birthday my Love!!!! I love you more and more every year!!!

(And Daddy, keep your spirits up – you are in my prayers!!!)

Have a FABULOUS evening!

Living in a State of Gratitude!

Good morning!

Today is the day before Thanksgiving, and my sweetie and I are looking forward to the big day! This year we are spending Thanksgiving with Jason’s family, something we haven’t done in many years.

So, for today’s post I thought that I would list out some of the things that I am grateful for this Holiday season!

I am thankful because:

  • I serve a God who loves me and wants more for me than I can ever imagine
  • I have a husband who adores me and is constantly going out of his way to make me happy (Keep up the FABULOUS job my BHLM!!!)
  • I have a fun, cheeky, and loving dad, who gets more and more charming every year (I love you, Daddy!!!)
  • I have a bunch of sisters (both in my family and in Jason’s) who are fun, zany, brilliant, loving, thoughtful, and supportive. (You are my HEROINES!!!)
  • I have two little sisters who don’t mind if I have adopted them and treat them like my children!! (Thanks girls!!!)
  • I have nieces and nephews who are such a HOOT! These kiddos are the special people in my life that keep me feeling young (Whew – I am tired already!! ;-))
  • I have aunties who understand me, and are such a joy to hang around with (See you girls Saturday – I CAN’T WAIT!!!)
  • I have a job, although not always my favorite, pays really well, and has helped me get to where I am today, all while introducing me to a lot of really fun people, some of who have become dear friends to me (Yes, Chris – I am talking to you!!!)
  • I have two little puppies who think that we are the sun and moon and stars no matter what is going on or where! (Look! mommy’s home, and it’s bath night!!! Faye: “YEAH!” Sophie: “Boo!”)
  • I have a best friend who has been an important part of my life for over 22 years (Dawn, how would I ever make it without you???)
  • I have family members who, even though they have passed on, have left me with a strong sense of who I am and what I can accomplish if I put my mind to it (Mom, Grandpa, Grandma, Grandpa, Grandma – you know who you are – I hope you are all having a party up there!!!)

God really has blessed me in more ways that I can list here! I am so thankful for my life, and all of the events that have led me to this place! I pray that I am able to be a blessing to all of you who are in my life – I would not be who I am without you! LOL – I just heard my daddy say in my head, “No, no you wouldn’t – literally!!!” Even from afar my dad is with me!!! I LOVE YOU DADDY!!! 😉

I hope all of you have a FABULOUS (and blessed) day!!!
