Art Studio Makeover, Getting Close!

Good evening!

I am very happy to share with you some pics I took of my art studio/office! As you may know, I have been cray-busily cleaning, organizing, purging, and decorating this room!! I still have some work to do, but it is sooo close that I can feel it!! I am going to make fabric table skirts to hide all of the under table storage, and I am contemplating also curtaining the large bookcase in the corner, to soften the room a little more and to just hide some more of the storage!! Any thoughts?? Let me know in the comments section – I would love to here what you think!!

Anyway, I will stop teasing and show you some pics of where I am at today! (Click on any picture to show larger) πŸ˜‰

See, there is still a HUGE amount of stuff in this room, but it is organized like NOBODY’S business!!! πŸ˜‰ This room is going to do some SERIOUS multitasking, collage, painting, jewelry making, office, writing, library, and guest room!!! WHEW!!! No wonder it has taken me soooo long to get it this clean!!! πŸ˜‰

I just hope that beautiful art studio equates to beautiful art work being created!!!

Have a FABULOUS evening!! πŸ˜‰

Note to Chunky Dunkers: I can’t wait to see all of you tomorrow evening!! πŸ˜‰

A New Evening!!

Good evening!

For most of the day today, I have been frantic whirlwind of cleaning, organizing and purging!! My art studio/office is starting to look better, but it seems that as soon as I clean up one pile, two more show themselves!! Those sneaky little pests!!! πŸ˜‰ I did not take any pictures this evening, however, I’m confident that I will be able to in a few days, and the room will be completely done!!! WHEW!!

In the process of cleaning, purging and organizing my office/art studio, I am learning to realize just how important a safe place to create is for me. This is ABSOLUTELY priceless!! I am excited to see where my imagination can take me, and I know that having a clean, organized, clutter free space that truly represents my personality is something that EVERY GIRL should have! Especially, if one is trying to tap into one’s inner artist! I can honestly tell you that I don’t know where I will end up in 1 year, 5 years, 10 or 20, but I CAN tell you, that it is GOING TO BE GOOD!!

I want to give a shout out to my husband, Jason!! There were many times today, and this whole weekend, where I have been completely overwhelmed and needed either some moral support, cheerleading, or just someone with a stronger will then I to physically remove some items from our place that just needed to get donated or recycled!! Jason has done that for me, as he has on many occasions!! I love you, Sweetie, and I could not have gotten nearly as far as I have without your help! YOU ARE MY ROCK! You make my life so much better, and I still thank God that you are in my life. I TRULY am one lucky girl, and I OWE YOU SOOOOO BIG TIME!!! Thank you, Jay!

As for this week! I am not sure exactly what to expect yet, but priority number one is to get this art studio/office finished!!! Mamma needs a place to create!!

Work will be busy, but really, when is it not?? I also need to make sure that I get a couple of weeks on the calendar for our vacation! We are planning on camping with my sister’s family at the end of the month, but even that time has not been approved just yet! So, I will have to do some negotiating with some of my co-workers on that!

I am wanting to take a Zumbe class! I was planning on starting that next week, but I was burning my candle at both ends, still am, and that is going to have to wait a little while longer!! πŸ˜‰ That is part of the reason for uncluttering my home so that I have more time and energy for doing the things I want to do – like Zumba!!

Have I told you that I am still doing my Artist’s Way morning pages, and weekly artist’s date with myself. I am, and I am still loving it! I was surprised to see that I was on week 9 of that process!!Β  The old Christina really never did very well with following through on things like this. This new Christina can’t imagine never not doing it!! They have radically changed the way that I look at my life, which in turn has changed me!! For the better!! I am so much happier than I was in the past, and I have reconnected with my creator, and now have hope for a different future than the dismal one I was settling for!! now, if only this new Christina could just lose some weight, and figure out world peace, all would be DIVINE wouldn’t it??? LOL! πŸ˜‰

Until I speak with all tomorrow…

Have a FABULOUS evening!! πŸ˜‰

Week of Prepping for Changes!

Good evening!

I have just gotten home from work, and I have to tell you I have had a pretty good day! Busy, but very good!! You see, one of my very dear friends is joining my team next week, and the team is just soooo excited to have her start!!! She is just such a sweetheart, but she is also a self-starting, hard worker and she is going to be such a to our team!!!

To get ready for her arrival, my work partner and I have been putting together a task list, and cleaning up some otherwise confusing processes so that when we teach her how to use the tools that we utilize, it will be as least-confusing as possible!! So, that has take some time and attention, and I am sure I will spending more time on that for the next couple of days!! but it will be sooooo worth it!! πŸ˜‰

Then that leads us to the biggest “change” for our team that may be coming up within the next couple of months, and that is that we may be relocating to a different floor of our building. There are a lot of pros and cons to the move, but I am always an advocate for change of scenery. But, I must tell you, my co-worker and I have been really spoiled by our current work spaces. We have GINORMOUS windows with the most BEAUTIFUL view! If we open our windows, we can hear the creek burbling by down below. There is a large tree, with birds and squirrels always stopping by and peering in. We also have the best view, in the entire building to the helicopter landing pad on top of the main hospital tower, so we can see every helicopter coming and going without fail!! So that will be sad. BOO! But, it will be nice to have the whole team together, however many we may end up as. So, we will see!!

Jason just stopped and told me about something that happened at the post office today. He said there was a little old lady who had walked into the post office, walked past the looong line of already waiting customers and said to the postal worker that she didn’t have time to wait in line, and handed her slip of paper to the gentleman. Apparently some other little old lady in the line took great offense at her audacity and started to wield her umbrella at the impatient customer. Jason said, he kinda got excited that there was gonna be a little old lady smack down, right in front of him. Well, thankfully, the postal worker was able to diffuse the situation, and all was well with the world. My hubby said he was kinda bummed not to see the grannies fight, but he was glad that no one was hurt. I am not sure how I feel about this story. A part of me wants to laugh, and another is just thinking “MEN!!!” What do you think???

Alright, well my sweetie almost has dinner ready so I am going to lend a helping hand!

Have a FABULOUS evening!!
