It’s a Girl’s Perogative!

Good evening!

A lot has changed in the past 24 hours! Well, my sweetie and I were camping at the Oregon Coast and were actually planning on being there until Saturday. Well, a girl can only take so much, and Jason knew that I was getting more and more miserable, so we had decided to go home.

On the way home, I decided at the last minute that I didn’t want to leave the coast just yet, and my sweetie found us this sweet little hotel that we could stay at. So here we are: hot shower, ocean front view with sound proof windows!!! AAH!!! Bliss!! and to top it off I have been absolutely blocked art-wise! I don’t know what my problem has been, but I have found this GREAT collage book that has re-inspired me, and I am ready to create, create, create!!!

So, we will see what happens in the next day or so!

Anyway, Jason and I will be here for about 2 or 3 days (I am just LOVING this vacation!!), and then we will eventually mozy on home!! Until then I am planning on arting it up, enjoying this view and spend as much time bundled up in the great outdoors as I can handle!! I will make sure to have some pics to share tomorrow! šŸ™‚

Have aĀ  FABULOUS evening! šŸ˜‰

Happy Coastal Friday!

Good evening!

Trina, Jason and IĀ  all spent the day at the Oregon coast today, and had a blast!! We have gotten home not too long ago and we are all pooped out!! But we REALLY had the MOST fun!! šŸ˜‰

My youngest sister, Trina, and my sweetie, Jason! Aren’t they soooo cute!?!?!

Now Trina and I!

Me and my sweetie!!

We followed this flock of birds that were flying really low to the ocean. We started with them in Depot Bay, and when we got back to Lincoln City, we were SURE that we saw the same group of birds again!! TOO FUNNY!! šŸ˜‰

Look at this happy girl!

Her and Jason had found two little “friends” while exploring down at the beach!

I am not sure who is the bigger kid here!! HAHAHAHA!!! I just LOVE these two kiddos!! šŸ˜‰

This is what my sweetie looks like when he is absolutely having a GREAT day!!! šŸ˜‰

He picked up a new piece of drift wood that he is going to spend the next few months having fun carving! I can’t wait to see what he comes up with!

I just LOVE going to the beach, and going with family makes it even that much more special!!Ā  We spent the day playing at the beach, shopping for used books, searching for saltwater taffy and peanut butter fudge (yes, Daddy, we heard you!! ;-)), eating good food, and hanging out having a FANTASTIC time!! šŸ˜‰

I can’t wait to see what happens tomorrow!! šŸ˜‰

Have a FABULOUS evening! šŸ˜‰

Where Do I Begin?

I am really excited to tell you how the weekend with my dad and I at the beach house went!! We had sooo much fun, and really crammed a lot into a really short time!!

We met in Lincoln City at the casino, had dinner, and headed straight over to the little beach house. After deciding who was sleeping where, we headed over to the ocean front, where we just spent some time taking in the ocean. Later that evening my Dad and I decided to head over to the local movie theater, where we watched The Karate Kid, which my dad and I both agreed was a really good movie!!

The next morning, we went out to breakfast, then off to do a little shopping!!! You know that is one of my FAVORITE PASTIMES!!

A few of the treasures I found:

A vintage silk, Parisian hat box

A fur scarf – I know it is tre-risque, but I LOVE this scarf, and I figure that I am doing my part to recycle! šŸ˜‰

A Vintage fashion magazine, circe 1929 – I am sooooo in LOVE with this magazine!!

and finally, I found this little gold compact that is a mirror with a hidden lipstick holder! So sweet and VERY AUDREY!!! I have to see if I can find a mini lipstick mold and make my own lipstick to put in this compact!!! I just HAVE to find a way to use this!!

After antiquing, my dad and I made a quick run to the used book store, and I ended up walking away empty handed – LONG STORY!! but, oh well! I made up for that today, by making a LOOOONG stop over at the Goodwill over here and picking up some tomes for my reading pleasure!!!

Surprise, Daddy!! šŸ˜‰

Anyway, my dad and I went back to the beach house and took a nice nap! When I woke up I decided to head out to the beach one last time before it got too late. The weather was absolutely perfect!! Sunny, slight breeze – we couldn’t have asked for nicer weather!!

While I was out, I stopped at the grocery store to pick up some groceries for dinner that night, and heard from the grocer that the casino was putting on a huge firework display and that it would be starting in less than an hour and a half. So, I went back to the beach house, and told Dad about the fireworks, and he was TOTALLY IN!!!

After dinner, we went over and got some of the best seats outside of the casino, and sat back and we both thoroughly enjoyed the fireworks display! It was better than what we normally see a the 4th of July. The casino was celebrating it’s 15th anniversary. I am so glad they were – WE HAD A BLAST (no pun intended)!!! šŸ˜‰

After that, my dad and I went a played a few slots. After winning $1.75, yes, I know – I declined a security escort because I figured I would be safe walking to the car as long as I moved quickly! *WINK!* we headed back to the beach house!!!

On our last morning of the weekend, my dad and I headed to Newport so that we could go to church, and then we went out for a nice lunch together! BTW, I did get that interview I was so hoping for – I will post that tomorrow!!! šŸ˜‰

I love my dad, and I am just sooo thankful that he is in my life, and that we have such a fun time whenever we get together! I know that this weekend will be one that I will cherish in my memory for the rest of my life – I hope that it is not the last!!

Here are some more of my ocean pictures I took this weekend! šŸ˜‰

Have a FABULOUS evening! šŸ˜‰

I’m BAAAACK!!

My Sweetie & I

To say that my Sweetie and I had a GREAT time this past weekend is a HUGE understatement. I agreed to a weekend getaway with the caveat that my husband was allowed to be 100% in charge!!! Now, for those of you who don’t yet know me, let me tell you – well, that was no easy feat on my part, but I agreed!! I mean, I LOVE going to the little beach house with my Sweetie, so I figured my “freedom” would be a small price to pay for a weekend getaway.

Well, my Sweetie DID NOT disappoint!!

We got out to the beach house and from that point on, my Sweetie had everything planned, paid for, and my every need taken care of! WHAT A FABULOUS MAN!!!

One of the big surprises of the weekend for me was that my Sweetie took me to a light house. Actually, he took me to the Yaquina Head Lighthouse, the tallest light house in Oregon.

Yaquina Head Lighthouse

We had a lot of fun taking our turn to walk up the 114 steps to see the panoramic view from the very top.

114 Steps to the Top

The views were spectacular, and my fabulously patient Sweetie let me just take pictures of all of the gorgeous surroundings without rushing me at all, what a treat!

The view from the top

This particular outing actually helped me cross of something from My Life List item #719. Thank you very much Sweetie!!!

On to our next outing, and one that my husband and I MUST do EVERY time we go out to the little beach house, can you guess what it is??? A USED BOOK STORE!!! No, let me rephrase that, THE BEST LITTLE USED BOOKSTORE IN ALL OF THE OREGON COAST!!! It is a little place with a HUGE heart, called Robert’s Bookshop. They sell all kinds of used books in ever genre imaginable! My husband and I have been going to this bookstore for at least 10 years, if not longer! and of course, I spent waaaaaay too much money, and bought waaaaaay too many books!! I am just going to have to admit it that I am going to need to purchase more bookshelves!!! šŸ˜‰ Of course, I must confess that I did soooo much book shopping on the rainy day that we hid out there, that I did not take one single solitary picture of our 4 or 5 hour stay at that this FABULOUS place. (I did mention that my Sweetie was patient, didn’t I?? THIS IS PROOF!!!)

My Favorite Place in the World!

Tomorrow I will tell you more about our trip to the coast!

TREASURE HUNTING!!!!

Have a FABULOUS evening!!
