Life Book 2015

lb2015-halfad-finished-800

Good morning, my darlings!!!

I am SOOOOO EXCITED about Life Book 2015!

Oh, but maybe I had better back up a little bit!!

January 1, 2015 I will be embarking on a one-year online journey! A journey to learn more about art, art journaling, and mixed-media techniques! In the process I hope to learn more about myself, and meet some really cool new people who share a passion for mixed-media and living a creative life!!

Life Book 2015 is being offered by Willowing Arts at Willowing.org, by one Ms. Tam Laporte!! This AMAZING year-long series is going to be taught, in weekly increments, by, not 1, not 2, but 26 AWESOME mixed-media gurus, a lot of those names I am already very familiar with, and I can NOT WAIT to learn more from them!! I am a sponge as I sit at your feet!! Teach me oh great Miyagi!!! πŸ™‚

What else can I say??? The registration cost is EXTREMELY low when you think about how much content you are being given! — I should probably addΒ that I am not affiliated with this class or Willowing in any way shape of form, and that these are all just my personal opinions! πŸ™‚

But….Man, I am so excited because this journey starts in exactly two months!!! I cannot wait!!! Feel free to join me – registration is still open!! Maybe I will see you there!

I will be sharing some of my projects here with you, so subscribe to this blog so you don’t miss one minute of creative, juicy goodness!!!

Here is to continuing to live This Beautiful Life! πŸ™‚

Coming Up For Air!

Good Evening!

Queen Christina here! Yes, proudly wearing my royal crown this evening!! Having a great evening, finally getting my peppy-self back to living again!!!! I wanted to make sure to check in this evening! After being down sick for the past two weeks, I am still not 100%, but I am back up and running! and REALLY READY to get back to BLISS!! πŸ˜‰

As many of you may know, I love sharing everything that is going on in my world, which I realize might seem contradictory since I have been posting very sporadically lately, but I do have a reason! You see, besides being sick for the past 2 weeks, I have been doing something REALLY EXCITING!!! For the past 5 weeks I have been taking the Brave Girls’ Club Soul Restoration class online. This amazing class has forced me to delve into the inner workings of my soul and, through arting, discover more about myself Β than I ever thought possible. Truly!

If you have never hear of the Brave Girls Club, or the Soul Restoration I Class, I highly recommend popping over to the Brave Girls’ site and checking them out!!! Better yet, pinch your pennies together and sign up for their next available class ASAP!!! I have been ah-ha-ing every step of the way, through every tutorial, every lesson, every homework assignment. I honestly feel AMAZINGLY BLESSED to have found this class when I did! I am so enamored with the whole process, Melody Ross (our lovely and fearless leader), and the entire Brave Girls Club team, that I have already signed up for part two of the class, which starts in April!! YEAH BRAVE GIRLS!!! πŸ˜‰

The art I have been busily creating for the past few weeks, unfortunately, is not shareable! Because these pieces are so powerful, and yet so personal, I had made the decision that these pieces would be just for my eye eyes only. That way, I can completely take the fear factor out of arting, and just create what is truly going on inside of my soul. The good news, however, is that in the simple act of just creating without fear of judgement, I find that I am growing braver, and am inspired to start arting again to share with the blogging world.

In all of this, I am not sure where I am going to end up, but right now, I just want to be happy, and free, and arting has really opened that door for me, which I am soooo thankful for!! So, although I have nothing I can share this evening, I am happily, and busily spending time watching tutorials, trying new things, and hopefully within the next couple of days, I will have some new to share with you!! πŸ˜‰

I truly can’t wait!! πŸ˜‰

So, without further ado, I am going to get back into my art studio, and get to creating!! I can’t wait to talk to you again soon!!

Here is to a FABULOUS evening! πŸ˜‰

“If you want to have a different life, you have to live differently!”

A Lovely Tuesday Evening!

Good evening!

I wanted to start by sharing with you my art project from this past weekend!! It turned out rather nicely, if I may say so myself!! I completely changed what I was going to do from my original design, but I am soooo in LOVE with these happy colors!!! It is official that glass fusing is NOT my medium! I really don’t have the patience for this art, and although it did turn out beautifully, I am going to keep looking!!

I am so thankful to be home tonight!! Work is a little on the stressful side, so to get back to my haven at home is pretty nice!! My official plan for this evening is to go for a nice swim, take some random pics, and to do a little magazine reading!! Doesn’t that sounds DIVINE???

I hear that the new publication of Where Women Create is out!! I went to one of the local craft stores to find it, and no luck! So, you know what that means, I am going to have to have a Border’s date this weekend!! I am sure that Jason won’t mind!!!

Speak of the devil!! My lover just got home!!! and he is carrying McD’s!! Ok, so much for healthy meals, but at least it is only a happy meal!! That is something right!??!? πŸ˜‰

Talking about having to keep searching for my artist’s medium, I have a couple of new adventures coming up in the next few weeks! The first thing is that in two Saturdays I have a mixed media collage class that I am going to take with the Kaiser Art Association. This pic is an example of what kind of art we will be doing in this class:

Then the next weekend is the a vintage home show, The Farmhouse Show up in Turner, Oregon that I will be able to take a Ton of pics of, and hopefully come home inspired and maybe with a couple of new treasures.

Then, I am taking another art class, but this time it will be a Jewelry Metalsmithing, soldering, and Cuff Bracelet Class given by Terri Brush Designs. Here are pics of two of the designs that we will be learning how to make:

See what I mean??? AND if I can figure out how to finagle it, I want to go to ANOTHER home show in Spokane, Washington the first week in June!!!

If all that weren’t enough, I am doing some research now into a women’s artist retreat over in Idaho! I KNOW that I need to go to that, I just have to work on the logistics!! Mamma can’t be in two places at once! So, we will see!!

Well, with all that said, I am tired, and I really need to go hit the hay!!

Have a FABULOUS evening!! πŸ˜‰

A Night Playing With Glass!

Good evening!

Tonight Jason and I had a special date night, a date where we went and learned all about glass fusing/slumping! We went down to Create a Memory here in Salem, Oregon, and for a mere $25 you got a intimate 2 hour class where you learn everything and anything you could ever need to know about this fun art! I would highly recommend this class. They let you design your very own 4X4 art piece which is included in the cost of the class, but they let you design larger pieces for a nominal fee more. So, I chose to do a 6″ x 6″ piece and it only cost me $10 more! They don’t care how long you take to actually put your art piece together, so since Jason and my design was so intricate, I am going to head over there tomorrow to work on it a little more!!

Plus Create a Memory is actually a pottery painting place where you can purchase pottery pieces, and paint them, and the studio will fire them for you, so they have TONS of choices for that kind of stuff! That project might be next!!!

As much fun as this class is, I am still not sure if it is my medium, yet. I know that I will feel it in my bones when I discover my artist medium, and so far, this is fun, but it is a little tedious, and I am not sure if that is too destressing for me!! πŸ˜‰ HOWEVER, with that said, I cannot WAIT to see my finished piece, I think glass is just DAZZLING, and I really LOVE the colors that I have chosen for myself!! πŸ˜‰

Here is Jason’s unfinished piece:

His is so zen, REALLY!! I know that might be hard for some of you to believe, but zen is a word that really can describe my Jason to a T! He is Mr. Laid back, easy going, outdoorsy guy! He sometimes AMAZES me though with his art, I forget that he has a whole creative side of himself that I don’t get to see him tap in to too often, but when I do, his work is quite indicative of who he is as a person!! I STILL LOVE that man!!! πŸ˜‰

Here is my unfinished piece:

My inspiration was quilting squares, so I divided mine up into quarters and I am doing 2 quarters in this similar pattern, and I am going to try to create a plaid type pattern with the other 2 quarters. We will see, I am not exactly sure how I can do that, but I am optimistic!!! πŸ˜‰

I will definitely make sure to take after pictures once they are finished. We are told that these small pieces only take an hour in the kiln to fire and cool, so HOPEFULLY I can get mine done tomorrow, so that I can share my handiwork!!!

Have a FABULOUS evening!!! πŸ˜‰

NOTE TO CHUNKY DUNKERS: I have belly danced for a half an hour today, I had a mini ham sandwich on a whole wheat english muffin for breakfast, a yogurt for a snack later, a mini dum-dum sucker, and a bite size crunch bar for snack. Had chicken strips and some fries for lunch, and dinner was a large salad, with a side of baked chicken breast, and a diet A&W. I see that around lunchtime is when I start to have problems! Still not my best day, but a little better than yesterday, so I am ok with that! πŸ˜‰

A Productive Tuesday Morning!

Good morning!

I have had a pretty productive morning, this morning! I am busy learning about all sorts of features in WordPress that I have just been too chicken to learn previously. I am realizing that if I take it one change at a time, it is a piece of cake! πŸ˜‰ I hope that any and all of the new links/features I am adding will be helpful to you as you continue to read my blog, and hopefully share with your friends!! πŸ™‚

I am trying to decide what my creative task will be this evening. I have been trying to devour the information in quite a few blogging books, and also still trying to get all of the The Artist’s Way program assignments completed, and this week there are a lot, however I am only supposed to do half of them!! I have my camera with me, so I need to continue to look for the beautiful and interesting to share, and I think that today I will take a nature walk, and dry some flowers for some Spring and Summertime Artwork! I have decided that my banner, although perfect for Winter, is a little too heavy for my tastes for Spring, so it is definitely time for a change in that dept! I need to rotate artwork, create some new pillow coverd and maybe make a small quilt to cover and lighten up the couch! That should be fun, and make for a PLEASANT change in our little place!!!

Well, I see that it is almost time for me to head out to the office today, I have a busy day of work ahead of me today, but I am optimistic that it will be a good day!! I am just hoping to keep my head down and knock out some assignments before I leave to come home today! πŸ˜‰

Have a FABULOUS day!! πŸ˜‰

Note to Chunky Dunkers: Please don’t forget that tomorrow night is Chunky Dunker night! I will see you all a little after 6:30 om, tomorrow!! I can’t wait to hear how everyone is doing!! Until then, TOODLES!!! πŸ˜‰
