Date Night with My Sweetie!

Good evening!
My sweetie and I just got home from a lovely date night out. We went out and watched a really fun movie, Puss In Boots in 3D. It felt really good to laugh. I mean, laughing out loud, the kind of laugh that makes you happy all over! It was a very cute movie! I am sure it would even be better with kids in tow, but there was a large family sitting next to us, and most of the kids were probably 8 or younger, and those kids made the movie so much more fun! I just LOVE hearing little kids laugh – it is sooooo genuine!! and these kids laughed at ALL of the BEST parts!! 😉 Good times!!

The plan for the rest of this evening is to close the house down early and go climb into bed for some quality quiet time together. It is sorely needed, we have been keeping ourselves a little too busy!

As for the rest of this weekend, my official plan is to turn our alarms off, and see if we can sleep in! After that, it is anyone’s guess! I am feeling rather snuggly, which means that I am really wanting to stay close to home all weekend. I want to cook, clean, create, take a nap or two, maybe read a good book, walk in the rain, maybe go swimming; whatever we want! That really sounds DIVINE!! If only I could find a way to get paid to do that, CAN YOU JUST IMAGINE!!! Oh, man! That would be AWESOME!!! 😉

Anyway, I will keep you posted on how it all goes! I just hope there will be something exciting to be able to share with you. I will keep my camera with me, and I will share with you images from my weekend! 😉

Have a FABULOUS evening!!! ;-)

Stevie Wonder and Some Homemade Potato Soup!

Good evening!

I love laughing with my sweetie!! Jason and I just watched one my favorite episode of the Cosby Show, yes, I said the Cosby Show! That is how we roll here in Christinaville!! LOL!! This episode is the one where Stevie Wonder’s limo is in a car accident with Theo and Denise. Well, long story short Stevie Wonder invites the family to come to the recoding studio where they proceed to help him record a song! It is just too funny!! I have always LOVED watching the Cosby Show, Claire and Cliff Huxtable’s relationship is always so idylic, yes I realize it is fiction, but I can’t help but be happy when watching one of these reruns.

Jason is in the dining room right now, playing his guitar. He is doing such a great job teaching himself how to play, I am just so proud of him.

Today was the first day of his new job, and it sounds like he is going to be very happy there, which makes me sooooo excited for him!! He has been hired on at one of the local storage companies to be a handyman for their facility. That is so right up his alley, having always been a Mr.  Fix-it! And it sounds like he really enjoys his bosses, so that is always a HUGE plus!!

As for the homemade potato soup? Well, since it was Jason’s first day, I decided to make him some ham and potato soup, which I had never done before, but I know how much he likes to have a hearty soup. So, as soon as I got home from work, I got busy chopping vegetables, sauteeing, boiling, brewing, and just having a good time playing in the kitchen by myself. Well, the moment came for him to try it, and I was nervous, but of course I had nothing to worry about – Jason ate TWO bowls full!!! Which is great because it is made of mostly veggies and broth!! SO delicious, and so healthy!! He made me feel like a million dollars tonight.

Before I leave for the evening, I can’t forget my 5 Grattitiudes:

  1. I am thankful that Jason has a job that he will be happy at
  2. I am thankful that God has gifted us with the joy of laughter and that we are able to laugh so easily together
  3. I am thankful that my family loves me, even if it is from afar
  4. I am thankful for friends at work, and for laughing at lunch so hard that we all end up crying & near hyperventilating
  5. I am thankful that God has blessed every day, and continues to bless us more and more

With that said,

Have a FABULOUS evening!! 😉

Note to Chunky Dunkers: I will see you tomorrow tonight at 7 pm!! GO CHUNKY DUNKERS!!! 😉

Mamma Needed That!

Good evening!

I had a pretty rough day today, and it just seemed to get worse when I got home – HOWEVER!!! I just finished watching one of Craig Ferguson’s comedy shows, and I

LAUGHED MY HEINIE OFF!!!

I REALLY NEEDED THAT!!

Laughter really is the best medicine, isn’t it??

Well, tonight is Chunky Dunker’s night, and I have to admit that this week I have been doing pretty well, foodwise, and have lost about 7 1/2 pounds total!! YEAH!! That is pretty impressive when I think that I have been steadily going up every week instead of going down, and NOW my body decides to cooperate! That is alright, better late then never!!!

My sister Trina is coming up from Roseburg tomorrow to stay with us for the weekend! That will be a lot of fun! I am taking Friday off of work so that we can go spend the day together over at the coast! I CAN’T WAIT!!! I just know we are going to have a lot of fun, and don’t worry I will make sure to take lots of pictures to share!!! 😉 I am going to miss her whole first evening in town, because I am working and have my dance class tomorrow night, but I know it will just give Trina and Jason time to spend some quality time together!!!

Have I told you that my sweetie has been sick?? He has been coughing like a fiend and is really congested in the chest – it almost sounds like bronchitis!! Not fun!! I am happy to report that he is feeling better today, he practically slept the past two days away!! So, to see him up and moving around, albeit slowly, is still encouraging!! He is DETERMINED to be better by the time Trina gets up here tomorrow!! One way or the other, the weekend is going to be a blast!!!

Alrighty, I am going to wrap this bad boy up this evening!! I am meeting some of my fellow Chunky Dunkers in the comments section of this post this evening!! So, I had better get to it!

Have a FABULOUS evening!! 😉

Life Needs More Green Lights!

Good evening!!

I have had a day, but enough about me!

Tonight I thought I would do something a little different! I have this sign on my living room wall, and it says, “Life needs more green lights”. It is one of my FAVORITE pictures, but tonight, I wish this sign said, “Life needs more laughter!”

They say that laughter is the best medicine, and today my co-worker reminded me of this fact. In the middle of a rather stressful afternoon, Chris stopped and sent me something that really just made me almost fall of my chair laughing!!!

Here is that little ditty:

I was in Starbucks  recently when I suddenly realized I desperately needed to fart. The music was really, really loud, so I timed my farts with the beat of the music. After a couple of  songs, I started to feel much better. I finished my coffee, and noticed that everybody was staring  at me….

Then I suddenly realized that  I was listening to my  I-Pod.

Oh my goodness! That seemed to do it! We both busted up into a fit of laughter, and it seemed to really just lighten up our afternoons! None of the demands, or issues actually  went away, but laughing seemed to really put it all into perspective. This too shall pass.

I have always heard that laughter was the best medicine, but I decided that I wanted to look into it a little more this evening, and just see if I can find what the benefits actually are. Here are some of those that I found:

  • Laughter relaxes the whole body. A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes after.
  • Laughter boosts the immune system. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease.
  • Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain.
  • Laughter protects the heart. Laughter improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems.

Isn’t that AMAZING??? It would be so handy to bottle up little fits of giggles in pill form, so we can take, as needed!! Life would be a funnier place, I think!!

Have a FABULOUS evening!! 😉
