Having Fun at the Willamette Valley Pie Company Fall Festival!

Good evening!

Yesterday I got the chance to hang out with my sweetie and my girlfriend, Fahlene, and her two boys, William and Jeremiah! I wanted to make sure to share the copious amounts of pics I took before the day got too much more away from me!

DSC05436

This is Fahlene, William, and Jeremiah! We are getting ready to go into the hay maze!DSC05441

Inside of the hay maze, there was a basketball hoop! William absolutely LOVED this!! It was fun watching him try to make a basket, which he literally did not do even once!!! What an AWESOME little guy!! πŸ˜‰DSC05455

My sweetie thought that he would give him a hand by lifting him up to the basket, and the funniest thing happened!! William still didn’t make a basket, but that didn’t stop him! He just kept a big grin on his face and just kept on trying! Matter of fact, later in the day when he disappeared, this is exactly where I found him! LOL! πŸ™‚DSC05462

When we finally got William to trek on inside of the hay maze, he took the lead!!DSC05467

This is TALL William!!! πŸ˜‰DSC05472

Jason even helped William get even taller, by standing on the tippy top of the gianormous hay mountain!! WHOO! HOO!
DSC05475

Jason helped William figure out how to go down this hay slide using the red discs! It was funny to watch him try to figure out how to keep on the disc without sliding off!DSC05480

When Jeremiah saw how much fun William was having he decided to get on board with the fun too! πŸ™‚ On your marks, get ready, GO!! πŸ™‚DSC05481

William is obviously in the lead!DSC05482

I don’t know…they are pretty close!DSC05483

William looks like he may have gotten there first, but Jeremiah definitely has height as an advantage!! It doesn’t matter who won – they both had fun!!DSC05490

Me and my sweetie with his banana-loving-minions t-shirt! πŸ™‚ He sure does crack me up!! πŸ™‚DSC05491

Fahlene and Jeremiah decided to go down the zip line! There was quite a wait, since it was very popular, but Jason did a GREAT job at keeping William entertained! William got a kick out of letting a small spider crawl all over his arm! It is also at this point of the day that we really got a sense of how hot this day was turning out to be! Aieeeeh! Check out the sweat on Jason’s arm – EW!! We thought, after the week we had had so far, that it would be pouring down rain for sure….uhmmmm..nope!! πŸ˜‰DSC05492

I know this pic is a little blurry, but this is Fahlene and Jeremiah coming down the zip line!!! Fahlene screamed really loudly, and Jeremiah was having so much fun…probably the best part of his day!! It was fun to watch!!DSC05516

Then William got his turn at the ride he wanted!! He is the one in the very last barrel! He smiled the entire time he was on this ride! He even got to go again before we left for the day! I think that was his favorite ride! πŸ™‚DSC05522

This is us racing ducks with water pumps! They were fun! I want Jason to build me one of these that I can play with whenever I want! πŸ™‚DSC05529

This is Spiderman…er…I mean William with his face painted like Spiderman!! All day he was worried that he would do something to wipe it off!DSC05552

OH, and this is one more thing I want for our farmhouse!! I want my sweetie to build me a gigantic check board!! I LOVE this!! OH, and this is me making my winning move against my sweetie!! That’s right! I WON!!!! WHOO! HOO!! πŸ˜‰DSC05553

Even as a sad loser (wait that sounded really bad!!), this man is SO FREAKIN’ ADORABLE!!!! πŸ˜‰DSC05570

We waited FOREVER for the world’s shortest hay ride!DSC05429

The last thing we just had to do before we left for the day was to get some pie and ice cream!!! Of course, we are did – we were at the Willamette Valley Pie Company after all!!Β πŸ™‚

When we got home, we all went our separate ways, and I have to confess, Jason and IΒ crashed hard and early last night! That kind of sleep is the BEST kind of sleep!!

OK, now I am starting to ramble!! I apologize!!

Here is to a FABULOUS Fall evening! πŸ™‚

Girls’ Night In – Getting Arty!

Crafting Life Books with MaryGood afternoon!

I wanted to share with you how my arting night with my girl friend, Mary, went last night!!

Let’s just start out by saying, it really is SOOOOOO MUCH MORE FUN when you art with someone than when you always art by yourself!!

Well, as you may remember from yesterday’s post, I met a very lovely girl on Saturday. Her name is Mary! Well, Mary came over last night so we could get our art on!!!

YEAH!!

We met up at my place of work, (on a side note, we have agreed that we are both SERIOUSLY directionally challenged, so she was pretty proud of herself that she found me, and I have to admit I was pretty impressed too!! ;-)) and we made the trek across town to my place!!

I was kind of worried, because you know like most people, there are things about my place that I find rather embarrassing, but like Melody Ross says, ” She felt (blank), but she did it anyway!” So, in we went! I gave her a quick tour, introduced her to our doggies, Faye and Sophie, and headed straight to my art studio to get to playing!!

We didn’t really have a plan for what we were going to do, but I had a fall back plan of creating our own life/dream/smash books, which is what we ended up deciding to do!!

Paper, pens, paint, scissors, Mary even brought over her Cricut machine (SO COOL!!), some happy music in the background, and stories back and forth mixed in with a bunch of giggling, add some funkily cut pizza (BTW pizza should NEVER EVER come in squares!!), and you end up with a night that was OH SO FUN!!!

My sweetie got home, and ended up being our chauffeur to drive Mary home, which in and of itself ended up contributing to the fun of the evening! You see, I am currently rocking the Frozen soundtrack in my car at the moment, which my sweetie just loves!! Well, we both have a few favorite songs, so as Mary and I are continuing to chat it up in the back of the car, Jason is blasting this Disney music, swaying to the beat of the music, and singing!! TOO HILARIOUS!!! I hadn’t realized that we were going to be entertained by a cute floor show during our travels across town!! LOL!! Thanks for that Love!!! πŸ™‚

Anyway, I am calling last night a HUGE SUCCESS, and I am hoping we get the chance to do it again real soon!! If anything, I can’t wait to see what kind of progress she makes on her life/dream/smash book!! Yeah, we really do have to decide what we are going to actually call those things!! Well, whatever they are called, we really did have a GREAT TIME!!

Friends are good!

Art is fun!

and I am feeling UBER BLESSED!! πŸ™‚

Here is to another day filled with HAPPINESS & CREATIVITY!! πŸ™‚

A Late Post!

Good evening!

I am sorry this post is getting to you so late! I completely lost track of time this evening!! πŸ˜‰ I was playing in my craft room with my friend, Cicily! We were both collaging our little hearts out! I can’t wait until we get to do it again!! πŸ™‚ I will have to take a moment sometime tomorrow to take pictures of our newest works in process for you to peruse!! The funny thing is, that we were sitting on completely opposite ends of the room, and our color schemes are almost identical!! TOO FUNNY!!!

Well, I am ready for my class on Wednesday, and because of lack of class space, I am going to have to find some kind of alternative activity for Saturday, since my encaustic class will have to wait until the next round!!! HOWEVER, I picked up all of my supplies this afternoon after work, and I am ECSTATIC!! I truly can not wait!!!

Oh! and I am excited to say that I am going to take a Zumba class next Monday evening! My first Zumba class ever!! I am all about making movement fun, and I have heard nothing but GREAT things about Zumba, especially one of the classes that is offered a few blocks from my place! I will give it a try for one week, and then I will decide if it something that I can commit too!! I will keep you posted!!! πŸ˜‰

As for me and right now, I am zonked!! It is so far past my bedtime that all I can do right now is tell you G’night…and

Have a FABULOUS evening!!!

A Quick Cheery Morning!

Good morning my lovelies!!

I am up and ready to head out to work just a little early today, so I thought I would stop and take a few moments to post this morning!!!

While doing my morning pages, this morning, it got me to reminiscing about one of my childhood friends. His name is Robbie! You see Robbie’s mom, and my mom were best friends growing up, so naturally, Robbie and I spent a lot of time together growing up too!!

I remember both of our families lived in a duplex forΒ  a time, they on one side, and we on the other. Robbie and I were inseparable. We went to school together, played together, went to church together! He was my

πŸ˜‰ Robbie and I would sometimes play in the back yard, and we had this folding table back there that we would turn on it’s side and cover with a blanket. That would become whatever building our imaginations needed it to be for that particular game. Most of the time we would playArmy, and Robbie, every the epitome of a gentleman, would be the soldier, and I would always pretend to be the nurse. My job was to hang out in the table/fort and take care of any wounded soldiers that would come in, and generally remain safe from enemy fire!!! Isn’t that funny!! I think we were probably 8 or 9 when this was happening, and it just makes me smile.

Robbie was my hero; he was faster than any of the other kids – seriously, he could run like nobody’s business! He was smarter than any of the other kids, he was more polite than any of the other kids – not many other kids held the door open for ladies! πŸ˜‰ He was cuter than most of the other kids!! Looking back, I am sure I had little crush on him!! πŸ˜‰

Robbie and I would do all sorts of things together, climb trees, go to the penny candy store (yes, they still had one of those back then), catch bugs, play on the park playgrounds, run around making up games to play with our siblings, and one of my favorite activities at the time, screeching around on our big wheels going as fast as we possibly could!! Man, what fun we used to have!!

Well, we both eventually grew up, and we had kept in contact with each other until our early 20’s but, as people change and life moves on we have lost touch. I sometimes think about him and wonder what his life is like right now!? I sure know he really helped make my childhood fun!!

Wherever you are, Robbie!! I hope you are as happy and as blessed as humanly possible!! You TOTALLY deserve it!! πŸ˜‰

Did any of you have childhood friends that made your childhood special, like Robbie did for me?? I would love to hear about them in the comments section above! πŸ™‚

Have a FABULOUS morning!!! πŸ˜‰

Friday Night Double Date!!!

Good evening!

I have had such a good day!!

My boss very generously gave me the afternoon off, and my friends Errin and Dawn picked me up so that I could join them on their drive up to Portland. I just LOVE Portland. Anyway, Errin had a business meeting, which gave Dawn and I some time to go hang out, have a nice long lunch, and do a little window shopping in Lloyd Center!

After we all got back into Salem, we met with my sweetie for dinner at the Road House (we love shucking the peanut shells onto the floor) and then all headed over to the movies. The idea was that they guys would go to a movie of their choice, and the girls would go to a movie of their choice. Well, it just happens to be that both the guys and the girls had decided to watch the same movie…

I Am Number Four.

What a FABULOUS movie! We really enjoyed it!! The movie did a great job investing you in the characters. It was easy to believe that the main hero, and his guardian had had a long standing bond, and you wanted the main romance to work out from the get go, well, at least I did!!! πŸ˜‰

If you get the chance to go see this movie, do it! I don’t think you will be disappointed!!

Have a FABULOUS evening! πŸ˜‰

Monday Night Book Night!

Tonight is book review night, and the book that I chose to review is called, Nesting it’s a Chick Thing. This book is such a fun read, and I highly recommend it anyone who wants to laugh, cry, and just learn more about living a FABULOUS life! Trust me on this, pick this book up!! It is like reading a creatively chic blog in paperback!!! FUN! FUN! FUN!!!

But why listen to me? Here is an editorial review from Publishers Weekly:

While Beanland and Terry do care about having a nice home, throwing fantastic parties and whipping up fabulous dinners, they have better things to do than polish the silver. The coauthors of It’s a Chick Thing: Celebrating the Wild Side of Women’s Friendships throw Martha Stewart-esque caution to the wind in this lifestyle guide with attitude, irreverently addressing the “four pillars of nesting”: decorating, entertaining, cooking and gardening. In each section, they give a basic overview of how to approach the task at hand, and then delve into the nitty-gritty, with sidebars, lists, pull-out quotes from celebrities and quirky clip art, all with a can-do, girl power mind-set, evident in the inclusion of such lines as “I am a marvelous housekeeper. Every time I leave a man, I keep his house” (from Zsa Zsa Gabor). Among other tidbits, readers will find cocktail recipes, flea market shopping tips, party invitation ideas, suggestions for creating a garden that suits their personality and reasons to give Martha some credit (“the chick can carve a pumpkin 200 ways and make 65 recipes from the seeds alone!”).

Have a FABULOUS evening!

Hanging with my posse, my peeps, my girls!

I just got home from a late, and extremely fun night hanging out with my girlfriends!! All 6 of us got together; Nette, Alex, Rachel, Andrea, Jennifer, and myself, for a night of fun, laughter and a yummy ice cream sundae bar. We played a few rounds of Bananagrams, which I have almost no hope of winning – those girls are SOOOOO GOOD!!! We then went out to one of my favorite restaraunts in town for a fabulous plate of chicken teriyaki, salad and steamed rice; and then finally returned to Nette’s place to laugh the night away watching the movie Baby Mama, and enjoying our self-created ice cream sundaes.

During dinner, we got on the subject of purses and how those purses reflected our individual personalities, or our Purse-onalities:

We had such a fun time laughing, I just LOVE GIRLS’ NIGHT!!!

Have a FABULOUS evening!
