A Random Sunday!

Good evening!

I have come to the point in my book-loving life that I have too many books, and not enough time to read them all! Not to mention, some of them were given to me and I have NO idea what they are even about. I need to get two comfortable reading chairs and place them in my living room so that I can get some more reading time squeezed into my days! All of my friends and family think that I read all of the time, but really, I only read about 1/2 an hour before bed every evening. I wonder if that fact would surprise any of them??

Well, Jason and I are getting ready for our association’s annual garage sale, which is coming up this weekend, so I am doing my part to help get rid of any miscellaneous things in the house. Apparently Jason is going to be placing a whole TON of his things from his storage unit out for sale, which will be good, I think! When Jason and I lived in the old house, we used to hold 2 or 3 garage sales every Summer, so keep the plethora of belongings at bay was much easier than it is now!!

I have been dreaming about our farm that we hope to have some day. I have made an appointment with my mortgage broker for this Tuesday to find out what kind of options I have for either getting out of our condo, or refinancing so that we can pay a lower mortgage payments every month. I haven’t refinanced for the last three years, and I know my credit score has gone up, and interested rates have gone down. SO, hopefully I will hear SOMETHING good!! just as long as she doesn’t tell me that we will be stuck in this condo for the next 10 years – UGH!!! πŸ˜‰

As for today? Well, Jason and I started early this morning, with the stereo playing some happy music to make our chores a little more fun!! I just LOVE having a clean house!! Then I had pulled out my mother’s no-bake cookie recipe that I had misplaced, but found this week, and decided to surprise Jason by making him a batch of those. They are so much easier than I remember, and still DELICIOUS!! Needless to say he was PLEASANTLY surprised!!! πŸ˜‰

So, tonight, I am going to finish going through some of my books, set out an outfit for tomorrow. Oh, on a side note, I have to text Chris (one of my co-workers) every morning to make sure that she and I are not wearing the same thing – it happens a lot!!! πŸ˜‰ So, I have started to setting out my clothes every evening, so that I am ready at a moments notice if I have to change anything!! LOL!! What we do for our friends!! πŸ˜‰ and then I am going to climb into my freshly made bed this evening and catch up on a little reading before I fall to sleep!!

Have a FABULOUS evening!!! πŸ˜‰

PS: By the way, all of these pictures were taken by me while my sweetie and I were having our morning breakfast of steel cut oats – YUM!! πŸ˜‰

A Very Happy Friday!

Good evening!

I thought I would just take some time to write this evening! It has been a while since I have just written.

Things have been going pretty well for me. I feel like my life is moving towards a much more creative future! I am happier, healthier, stronger, more confident, and lately I have been feeling kinda sexy – I think it is all the belly dancing that is going on!

I have been day dreaming about my farm again! Decorating, baking, entertaining, creating, gardening, and hosting creative weekends for women. I was looking at pictured of gypsy caravans, and I thought how lovely would it be to have 4 or 5 caravans on the back of our property, parked in a circle, around a campfire pit. That would be a FABULOUS place to have get togethers, and sleepovers with friends and family – can you just picture it!?!?! I have always been a sucker for intimate, cubby-like spaces! Forts, tents, head hidden under the blankets while sneaking in a good read!! I just thought you might like to know.

I had lunch with the girls today, and they were all talking about how beautiful their gardens were, and how prolific all of thier plants were doing, and how everything was in full bloom!! I can’t wait!! I dream about being able to take long walks hand-in-hand with my sweetie, enjoying the sunset, or an early morning sunrise.

I want to have a reading tree and a climbing tree. For those of you that may not know, a reading tree is a tree large enough for a grown-up to climb and lounge amongst the branches comfortably so that one can read a good book, or just sit and watch the world of nature pass around them. Doesn’t that just sound divine?? I am so ready to find that tree!!

I am also thinking a lot about the idea of hosting girly glam creative weekends, where women can come from all over the Pacific Northwest and have a fun weekend, creating beautiful arty projects, taking lovely nature walks, making new friends, and having a chance to just take a break from the demands of daily life. Doesn’t that sound yummy??? We will have deliciously prepared meals and snacks, and turn down service with a chocolate on your pillow every night! Oh MAN!! Sign me up – I am SOOOO there!!!

Anyway, I am going to keep dreaming for the night!

Have a FABULOUS evening!! πŸ˜‰

Catch-Up Tuesday!

Good evening!

I have to tell you that today has been such a very good day!! REALLY!!! The sun is shining, Chris and I have help at work now, which is DIVINE!!! Plus Julie really is VERY SWEET, so she has been a joyful addition to our team!!

I am sorry that my posts have been a little sparse the past two days! I had gotten caught up in a book – yes, I still do read, EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE!! I just finished readingΒ  City of Fallen Angels, by Cassandra Claire, with my girlfriend, and co-worker Chris. She had finished it before me, which meant I HAD TO GET IT READ so that we could discuss!! WHEW!! So that is what I have been busy doing.

Ok, I got the last few pages read right before bed last evening! and can I tell you???

WHAT A HORRIBLE ENDING!!!

There is a movie that came out in 1982 that my mom used to watch A LOT when I was a little girl, it was called The Pirate Movie. Well, at the end of that movie, the main character, Mabel, who had been having a pirate dream for the length of the movie, realized she was getting a bad ending. She start calling out, “I want a happy ending! I want a happy ending!!” and the dream froze and, long story short – she got her happy ending!! Well,

I WANT A HAPPY ENDING!! I WANT A HAPPY ENDING!!!

For those of you who haven’t read City of Fallen Angels yet, Chris and I are both sooooo dang frustrated that we have to wait probably another year before we get to find out WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!!! UGH!!!

What is a girl to do??

Hmmm… I could always start another book???

As I said earlier in this post, it is so nice and sunny here today – the first real feeling day of Spring!! FINALLY! This cheery, warm weather has started me dreaming about my farm again!! I am so ready to go out and find my farm! Today would be the most DELIGHTFUL day to go out and play in the gardens, take a nice leisurely walk, and spend some time laughing with my sweetie in the great outdoors!!

My sweetie is out working on a roof for a customer, and so I am home alone for dinner. I had a pretty big lunch today, so I have decided to do a light fruit and veggie based dinner tonight – kind of like a mini cleanse!! I have had a lovely pear, a nice crisp apple, and some freshly sliced strawberries!! Later, when/if I get hungry again, I have the makings of a fresh, crisp, green salad, which should be DELICIOUS!! if I get really hungry, we have some fresh baguette in the kitchen too, that I can tear a chunk off of!! Or maybe I can add about an ounce of cheese to the mix, for some calcium-rich protein! YUM! We’ll see! (NOTE: this is my attempt to live spontaneously! WILD? I KNOW!!!!)

I have decided to start buying only organic produce. It is more expensive, but I think in the long run, it can only help us by not consuming quite as many chemicals as we have eaten in the past! So, we have been eating organic produce for a few days now, and I have to tell you, that I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of a lot of these foods. They just taste better. More flavor, richer, somehow!! It has been less than a week, and I am already hooked!! Go figure!! Thanks for the words of encouragement, Sis!!! πŸ˜‰

Tonight, I am going to do a little more reading, but I think I am also going to go take a nice walk out in nature, and just soak up as much vitamin D as I possibly can!!! Doesn’t that just sound lovely???

Have a FABULOUS evening!!

Note to Chunky Dunkers: I can’t wait to see all of you at our Chunky Dunker’s Club, here tomorrow night!!! It will be great to talk about our ups and downs in our efforts to getting fit and healthy!! If anyone would like to join us – I should have the night’s post published by 6:30 PM! The more the merrier! GO CHUNKY DUNKERS!!! πŸ˜‰

My Vision Board!

Here is that vision board I had told you that I was wanting to put together…

Sorry for the blurriness – I tried something new, that didn’t work out as expected!!! but the gist of this board for me is that I want a simpler life that I can share with my husband, with a small farm, a sweetly chic country home, a child (or 2), and a home furnishing/accessories business. I am loving the idea of long walks out in nature, planting my own gardens, lazy afternoons spent up in the orchard picking fruits for jamming, and pies, and such, and room for friends and family to come over, replenish themselves and make some fun memories together!!! Ok, so I may be dreaming of a slice of the Barefoot Contessa’s life, but I sure there will be enough room for everyone!!!

I can see my future as clear as a bell – the trick now will be figuring out how to make it come to fruition!!

Wish me luck!! πŸ˜‰

Back Home & Taking It Easy!

My sweetie and I are back atΒ  home, from a quick weekend down to Roseburg. We went to support our little sisters with their Christmas bazaar! I am just so proud of them for all of the hard work they had done, and for all of the goodies they were able to come up with. The booth had all sorts of goodies for sale, ornaments, heating pads, i-spy pillows, gift baskets of bath goodies, advent calendars, etc. It actually was a little slower than my sis, Jennifer would have liked, but she really did do such a GREAT JOB!!! They all did! This was the first time that I can remember them stepping out of the box and do something that caused them to use their bravery muscles! I AM SOOOO PROUD OF THEM!!! I love you, girls! More than you will ever know!!!

On another note: I am longing for my farm today – I know it is out there somewhere, I just pray that we will find each other someday. I am really dreaming about growing my own fruits and vegetables. Sharing our goods with neighbors and friends, and canning our deliciousness away to be enjoyed year round or given as gifts – OH THAT WOULD BE THE LIFE!!! πŸ™‚

While I go and dream some more,

Have a FABULOUS evening!!! πŸ˜‰
