A Magical Night Out with My Sweetie!!

Good morning!!

As I have been promising, today I wanted to tell you about what an AMAZING time I had with my love out on Friday night!! Before I do that, let me tell you a little bit of back story! My sweetie and I met when we were 18, and married 8 months later! It was a passionate romance that has lasted much longer than anyone ever expected, and is still going strong today!!

Jason and I are almost exact opposites!! He is casual, laid back, spontaneous, and I am uptight, worrisome, and a planner since way back!! Well, we complement each other in most every way, and that is why we work so well together!! He reminds me how to be a kid, and I remind him how to be a grown up!! LOL!! It just works, and I am just coo-coo for this man of mine!! To say the VERY LEAST!

Well, as I have been going through my Artist Way journey for the past 6 weeks, I have been unknowingly changing at warp speed, and I hadn’t realized how that was affecting Jason. He, ever my biggest cheerleader and supporter, decided that he would surprise me with a date for Friday night. Now Jason almost NEVER plans A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G!!! Matter of fact, his favorite line is, “honey, what are we doing today” because he just KNOWS that I plan E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!! He informed me on Tuesday morning that we were going to have a date on Friday night, but it was going to be a surprise, and he would take care of everything. I was skeptical, but also excited to see that he had finally planned a real date – you see in 16 years of marriage, there may have been one, or two times TOTAL that he has ever planned a date. He is more of a spontaneous, fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants kind of guy, and that means that we may go out to eat, or to the movies, but it doesn’t get too much fancier then that unless I am taking care of all of the arrangements!

Well, this past Friday was our date night, and to say that he dazzled me may be a HUGE understatement!! He had been giving me little hints all week, because as you can imagine, I was freaking out about where are we going? What is he going to make me do? Who are we going to be with? etc. etc. (at 35 years old, I realize that I may not like surprises!)

I met him at the house, he looked GREAT, and smelled EVEN BETTER!! I LOVE THAT!!! and we left for our date!! The first place we stopped was Bentley’s for a FABULOUS dinner!! I had the roasted chicken, and had a spicy red snapper!! He is so much fun to hang out with and just talk about all sorts of anything!!

We had some time before our next appointment, and Jason took me over to Startbucks to grab something caffeinated, since he knew I normally go to bed so early, and he didn’t want me to miss anything of the next activity he had planned!! We sat at Starbuck’s for a while, chatting with each other, and also with a young girl who was there who was apparently a Harry Potter fanatic, so we got to talk books!! Something else that I really LOVE!!!

Well, we were again on our way. We were heading to the Pentacle Theater, and I had heard a lot of great things about it, but never really had the chance to go there myself until this night! What I did know was that the Pentacle Theater is a small company who put on productions of various plays. Well, was I in for a big surprise!

When we got there, the surroundings were BEAUTIFUL!! The Pentacle Theater is tucked back into a woodland forrest, and everything around is green, mossy, and smells perfectly of Oregon!! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was sure getting excited about what was to come. The play that we were going to be watching was Educating Rita, something I had never heard of before this evening, and it was PHENOMENAL, to say the ABSOLUTE LEAST!!!

This play is a comedy about two people, a university professor, Frank, with a growing drinking problem, and a student, Rita, who comes from a undereducated background but wants Frank to teach her about “EVERYTHING”!!! To watch these two actors, one of whom Jason knows personally, was mesmerizing. I have never seen a play in such close quarters, seeing that it was just a small building we were all nestled in. The actors WERE the characters, so it was so easy to fall into the story!! You could literally see the transformation that each of the two characters were going through with Frank and his drinking becoming more and more of a problem as his love for Rita grows, but she is also growing away from him as she discovers more of the world. You watch RitaΒ  grow and change from an ignorant girl who wants to know everything into a sophisticated, educated, and elegant woman whose eyes have been opened to the entire world around her by her professor who she adores, but no longer relies on for her self worth.

During the opening monologue, Professor Frank, played by Michael Swanson, one of Jason’s personal friends, was basically telling us the rules for the theater, while in character, and we were his students in his classroom. He singled out a couple of people in the audience to give specific instructions to, and Jason was one of them!! It was so funny!! and Jason was just tickled!! The whole rest of the evening, Jason just kept saying, “I can’t believe he said my name!!” “Wasn’t that cool?? He said my name!!!” LOL!! πŸ˜‰

It was a truly MAGICAL night!! Jason had really outdone himself! TRULY!! He has unknowingly helped expand my creative world, and I bet you he doesn’t even realize it!! πŸ˜‰

We have decided to make the commitment to not only start donating to Pentacle Theater, but we are also going to be attending every production from now on! Jason has even decided that he is going to go back and look into volunteering there, which I think will be EXTREMELY good for him!! He has ALWAYS been such a HELPER!! πŸ˜‰ I am so proud of him! and so thankful that God has blessed me by placing Jason my life!!! I didn’t realize that when I had started the Artist’s Way, that it might just be changing Jason a little too!!

I love you, Baby-Jay, and I truly, truly thank your for this SPECTACULAR evening that you had so seemlessly put together for us!! You have KNOCKED my BOBBY-SOCKS OFF and I love you EVEN MORE for it!!! I hope to return that favor for you someday soon!! πŸ˜‰

Have a FABULOUS day!! πŸ˜‰

Happy Friday!!

Good morning!!

I wanted to make sure that I get a post in this morning, because I am not sure if I am going to be able to get one this evening, since I won’t be getting home until late!! and for those of you who know, I am NOT a late night kind of girl, so I am thinking that when I get home I may just crash in bed!!! πŸ˜‰

Tonight I have a date night with my sweetie, and he surprised me by getting tickets to a local play here in town, ‘Educating Rita’! I am excited, and I know we are going to have a bast!!! πŸ˜‰ I will tell you all about it tomorrow, however I doubt they will let me take many, if any pics but I am sure going to try!! You know me!! πŸ˜‰

I am still living on the high of last night’s belly dancing class, but I am excited about this evening, and tomorrow I have a collage class, that I may or may not go to yet! I still haven’t decided, but I am leaning towards going! I think just for the sake of hanging out with creative people for the day!!! I also need to get the cojones to start telling people I just meet about my blog! I find that most people I meet don’t even know what blogs or blogging is! It makes it difficult to bring new traffic to my site!!! πŸ™‚

Anyway, I am heading off to the office! I have a day chocked full of meetings, and I am just praying that they don’t get too politically heated!! I am raring to have a GREAT day today!!! and to get out of the office without having gotten slammed to hard is the goal – isn’t that a sad goal??? New goal: to get out of the office having completed some work, learned something, and made someone happy is the goal!! πŸ˜‰

Have a FABULOUS day!!! πŸ˜‰

Groovin’ to the Music!

Good morning!!

I can’t help groovin’ to the music playing throughout the house this morning!! Belly dancing has infiltrated my soul!!! SO MUCH FUN!! and really any song that has a strong 4/4 beat can be belly danced too! I am sure my sweetie thinks I have lost my blessed mind!!! LOL!!

Tonight is date night in our household!! YEAH!!! I LOVE DATE NIGHTS!!! Tonight Jason is taking me to dinner and a movie – although I may talk him into doing dinner, and a walk around River Front Park, or bowling, or miniature golf, or just strolling around downtown – I haven’t decided yet! I just want to do something that would be fun for both of us, but keeps us off of our booties!!!

One thing I will need to make sure that happens, is that Jason gets some walking shoes! He doesn’t have any decent ones, so going anywhere or doing anything that requires a bunch of walking is really uncomfortable for him – so I will have to help him look into that!!! He is now wearing a size 18, so you can imagine how difficult it can be to find ANY shoes in his size!!! UGH! We usually go up to the Nike outlet store where they have the reject shoes from the Portland Blazers. Sometimes those really work out, but USUALLY we find all sorts of CRAZY colored shoes, and I don’t care how hot my hubby is – and he is pretty hot, but NO MAN LOOKS GOOD WALKING AROUND IN BRIGHT ORANGE HIGH TOPS!!! No thank you!!! πŸ˜‰ HAHAHA!!!

It looks like it is going to be another nice sunny day here in good ol’ Oregon, so I am VERY excited about that! I have charged one of my camera batteries, so now I am ready to go out and take a bunch of pictures! I am working on getting my old “Style File” on my PC that is filled with other peoples’ artwork, and creating a new Style File with all of my OWN artwork!!! That way I will have a wealth of pictures to use for posting on my blog! Oh, the idea of that just gives me shivers of JOY!! YEAH!!!

Anyway, I have got to zip out the door to get to the office! I am planning on treating myself to only working a half day and then getting outside to go enjoy this BEAUTIFUL weather before my date this evening with my love!!! πŸ˜‰

Have a FABULOUS day!!

Megan Night!!

Good evening!

Tonight is Megan night!! We haven’t had one of those in quite a while!! I w beginning to wonder what she even looked like!! LOL!!! Tonight she pretty much has free reign to decide what we are going to be doing for the evening!!! So far we have gone to the theatre and watched Narnia Voyage of the Dawn Treader. It was pretty stinkin’ fun! It is so cool to watch Megan watch a movie. She just gets so into it, kinda like when I take her out and we go people watching!!! and I just LOVE her commentary, being 8, she has such a cool perception of the things that happen in movies!! πŸ˜‰

Right now Jason and her are playing the video game Cars together!! They are just so cute!! Jason is playing really slow so she has some time to learn how to use her controller. Later on this evening, we are going to pack our stuff up and go hit the pool, and maybe swing by Cold StoneΒ  and have a little ice cream, before getting ready for bed!!

Tomorrow she has requested that we go to “the downtown” tomorrow!! She is VERY EXCITED to be doing that! I am not exactly sure what we have planned, but I do know that she is getting a manicure from her auntie tomorrow!!! She LOVES that, I LOVE doing that for her!!

Now about my week. Work has been alright! I have been working really late most every day this week, although I did promise Megan that I wouldn’t work AT ALL this weekend – if you remember, last time she spent the night, I had to work ALL FREAKIN’ WEEKEND!!! It really was a bummer, so I am hoping to make it up to her this weekend!!! Oh, back to work, well, I think there is finally light at the end of our busy tunnels, but it hope is coming, that is all that matters!!!

Jason has been doing AMAZING at helping around the house, and doing little things here and there to show his love and support! It has been rough for him, not being steadily employed, but I truly appreciate all that he has done for us!!! I couldn’t do what I do, and stay sane, without him! I feel like I have my old Jason back!! He just seems so much more relaxed, and he is excited to LIVE again! For those of you who have been with us since the beginning, you know that he has had a rough couple of years, with one tragedy after another that he was having to deal with, but I must say that he is doing GREAT!! I am just sooo proud of him!!! I LOVE YOU, BABY!! I STILL THANK GOD FOR YOU!!! πŸ˜‰

Well, I am going to see if I can rustle up the “kids” to get off of their game so we can go swimming!!!

Have a FABULOUS evening!!! πŸ˜‰

Friday Night Double Date!!!

Good evening!

I have had such a good day!!

My boss very generously gave me the afternoon off, and my friends Errin and Dawn picked me up so that I could join them on their drive up to Portland. I just LOVE Portland. Anyway, Errin had a business meeting, which gave Dawn and I some time to go hang out, have a nice long lunch, and do a little window shopping in Lloyd Center!

After we all got back into Salem, we met with my sweetie for dinner at the Road House (we love shucking the peanut shells onto the floor) and then all headed over to the movies. The idea was that they guys would go to a movie of their choice, and the girls would go to a movie of their choice. Well, it just happens to be that both the guys and the girls had decided to watch the same movie…

I Am Number Four.

What a FABULOUS movie! We really enjoyed it!! The movie did a great job investing you in the characters. It was easy to believe that the main hero, and his guardian had had a long standing bond, and you wanted the main romance to work out from the get go, well, at least I did!!! πŸ˜‰

If you get the chance to go see this movie, do it! I don’t think you will be disappointed!!

Have a FABULOUS evening! πŸ˜‰

The Day After!

Good morning!

I would like to think that there is going to be a morning where I will be able to get myself ready and blog from my actual PC, instead of my Blackberry, but since my PC is still being temperamental, today isn’t that day! LOL!!! πŸ˜‰

How was all of your Valentine’s Day??? Mine was a lot of fun – I got to help my best friend’s boyfriend surprise her with an evening of fun and a big marriage proposal!! FUN! FUN! FUN!

To give you a quick flashback of our evening, I picked her up from work early in a limousine – she thought she was in trouble because her boss came out, told her to stop doing what she was working on because she had a very important meeting that she had to get to, “right now!” πŸ˜‰

We were then on a scavenger hunt, that her boyfriend, with the help of some friends, put together and executed!! Next stop, the beauty salon so she could get her hair done pin-up style. She looked soooo DIVINE and I was soooo jealous!! πŸ˜‰ I made sure to get the stylist’s card, because HONEY I am SOOOOOO going back!!!

Next we were off to a bunch of various locations that had special meaning for the happy couple. Dawn and I had fun trying to figure out clues, and where we were headed next!

Oh, did I mention we had our own personal papparazzi???? Yes!!! Two of Errin’s friends met us at all of our stops and took pictures of us all night long – so fun! πŸ˜‰

Anyway, the point of the evening, after getting all dolled up, and more pictures, the proposal! By this time Jason, Errin, Dawn, and I are all riding in the limo, chatting, laughing, and just having fun! When we pull into a empty parking lot, in perfect view of a huge electronic billboard, and sure enough – it pops up “Dawn, will you marry me!” Errin pulls out this gianormous and stunning ring, of course she said “yes!” DUH!!!!

We celebrated by having a FABULOUS dinner at Caruso’s!!! I had the BEST lobster tail I HAVE EVER EATEN!!!

By the time we got home, I washed my face, got ready for bed, and I think I fell asleep as soon as my head hit my pillow!!!

A very fun night!!!

Congratulations, Dawn & Errin!! I wish you all the happiness!!! πŸ˜‰

Have a FABULOUS day!!

My Big Date!

I picked up an extremely handsome man this evening! He is extremely handsome, large blue eyes,Β  a daredevil, and extremely tall – well at least for a 4 year old!!!Β  Yes, I said 4 year old! No, I am not some crazy pervert – tonight is the first time that my nephew ever wanted to spend time with his “Aunty Chrissy” by himself. We have had such a good time this evening, and he just keeps asking me over and over “Who’s special day is it today?” and I smile at him and say, “Morgan’s!!!” He starts giggling, as if it is the first time he has heard it, and then asks it again just so he can hear that it is HIS special day AGAIN!!! That’s m’boy!!!!

  • 1/2 eaten McDonald’s Happy Meal = $3.50
  • Swimming for a total of 1/2 an hour until nephew poops out from cold = $0.00
  • Lollipop sucker of his choice – blue of course = $0.00
  • Watching a Shrek while snuggling on the couch in our PJ’s = $0.00
  • Spending the evening with my nephew = Priceless

Have a terrific evening!!!
