Keeping the Momentum Going!

Good evening!

Here is a warning that this is going to be a quick post! The time change that happened yesterday was GREAT for making the weekend relaxing, but for my workday, it made it seem like it just draaaaaaged on forever!!! SHEESH!!

I just wanted to take a few minutes to share with you a couple of scarves I have recently finished crocheting! Even though I hadn’t been doing too much creating in my art studio over the past few weeks, that is, until this past weekend, I did make a point to try and keep something creative going and these scarves is what I chose to keep me busy. The white one is for my sweetie, and was done with all rows of half double crochet, and double crochet.  I thought this would look great with his winter coat!

This variegated one was created using all double crochets, I am not sure who the other one is for yet, but I I thought this would be fun to let the color be the interesting part of this scarf.

Anyway, I am planning on crashing early this evening! Hence the short post, but I have been putting together my style file, and I will be very happy to share some of those pics with you tomorrow!

Have a FABULOUS evening!!! 😉

I Must Be Crazy!

Good evening!!

You know, I have decided that I really must be crazy! After being SOOOOO relieved after spending so much time getting Jason’s blanket done, that who would have thought that the VERY NEXT DAY I would choose to pick up another skein of yarn to learn a new stitch!!! Jason’s blanket was a ginormous granny square. This next blanket is called a granny chevron!!! I am REALLY EXCITED to see how it will turn out! Ok, so I realize that sounds a little sad, but I have already done the complete first row (it is much narrower than Jason’s) and I can already see it zig-zagging!! YEAH!!! Ok, so maybe I really am crazy, because this new blanket is going to take me A WHILE!! I am doing this one in all white, soI imagine it will be a pretty throw blanket for our living room!!

Anyway, besides that craziness, I have had a really good day!! Work was very productive, I LOVE THAT by the way! Crossing things off of my daily to-do list! That is VERY SATISFYING!!!

Oh, not to change subjects again, but I am going to, Jason has gone upstairs, taken a skein of yarn, one of my crochet hooks and has started learning how to crochet too!! He is watching a YouTube video and already has about 3 inches of a scarf already made!!! He is such a talented STINKER!! It took me literally YEARS to get to where he has been able to get in less than an hour – however, I will admit that I did NOT have anything like YouTube – I just had to kind of figure it out, with help from anyone who was patient enough to answer all of my crocheting questions (namely, Jason’s mom – THANKS MOM!!!)!!!  😉

So, this evening, I am done crocheting for the night! It is nice and cold in the house this evening, so I think I am going to go cuddle under the blankets with my sweetie in bed tonight and do a little reading! I am reading the latest book in the Lost Heroes Series, by Rick Riordan – you know the continuation of the Percy Jackson series?? Really good book, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!! Reading is MUCH MORE gratifying than watching the tele – I’m just sayin’! 😉

On that note…

Have a FABULOUS evening! ;-)

P.S.  I wanted to make sure that I remind all of you Chunky Dunkers that we are on tomorrow night!!! See you then! GO CHUNKY DUNKER’S!!! 😉

I Finished It!

Good evening!
I am very happy to report that I have FINALLY gotten my sweetie’s blanket finished!! YEAH!! It took me about a month and a half, and 12 skeins of yarn to get this finished!!

This is the first blanket I have ever made that had some semblence of a pattern for! All of my other blankets have been just me, pretending like no one will notice that my edges are exactly straight – ok, so they acually bore no resemblence to straightness, but it was all about getting the practice!! Crocheting is something that really relaxes me, and I would LOVE to be good at it someday!!

As for now, I am VERY HAPPY that my sweetie loves his blanket, and has been toting it around the house as if he were Linus, and he is just waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it!!! How cute!! 😉

I would LOVE to hear your thoughts!!

Have a FABULOUS evening! ;-)

A Night Out!

Good evening!

Let me warn you that this is going to be a short post. This is for a few reasons:

  1. I have family here and I want to keep visiting with them
  2. I am busy crocheting while I am visiting with them
  3. I am so blinking tired, I am not sure if I could even think of what to talk about this evening! 😉

So, let me at least tell you how my day has gone.

Work was pretty good. I am so in love how work is going right now!! My team is AMAZING! Boss is very supportive!! and my work load is slowly but surely getting done, but much faster than how it had been going in the past!! So all of that is good!! 😉 One of my new co-workers, Emily, very generously gave me a ride home this evening! She is as sweet as can be!! I am so glad that she has joined our team!!

After getting home, and getting some more house chores done my dad, and his wife Trudi showed up, which made me very happy! My sweetie got home not to long after they got here, and he helped me finish up with the chores, and then he went off to hang out with the guys for a birthday party, and I went off with Dad and Trudi to go have some fun of our own!

Dad, Trudi, and I ended up going out for a really yummy home-style meal of chicken fried steak with gravy and baked potatoes, and peas! The servings were sooooo huge that I immediately knew I was going to have to get a to-go box, and man was I right!! I brought enough home that Jason and I could both share it for lunch tomorrow!! 😉

After our super dinner, we all headed over to JoAnn Crafts and Fabrics, and I ended up picking up some more skeins of yarn for the HUGE blanket that I am crocheting for Jason!! I am really soooo excited to get it finished!! I know Jason is really looking forward to sleeping under it for the first time!!

Alright, I did warn you that this was going to be a short post this evening, and apparently I wasn’t kidding, because I am too pooped to type any more tonight!!

Have a FABULOUS evening! ;-)

A Granny-Squarin’ Fool!

Good evening!

I almost forgot to blog tonight – EEK!! That would have messed up my goal of posting 365 days in a row. My sister, Alice, taught me how to crochet granny squares this past week, and I have been a granny-sqaurin’ fool ever since!! She also helped me fall in love with variegated yarn, which I have used a lot in the past, but only for crocheting scarves. So, I picked out some cute yarn, and I have been just crocheting away!!

I have been down and out the past two days, only venturing out today because of a dentist appointment I couldn’t afford to miss, but other than that, I have pretty much been stuck in bed or on the couch!! Long story, but crocheting my little granny squares seem to have helped me pass the time, and not move around too much.

I am thankful to report, that I should be back up and running/ or at least hobbling along as carefully as possible, tomorrow!! Which is great because I am THE WORST patient EVER, just ask my sweetie – God bless that man and all he has to put up with. I honestly don’t know how he manages to put up with all of my hub-bub!

Anyway, I will try and remember to take pictures of my squares, and blanket that I working and share them with you tomorrow!! 😉 In the meantime I am going to do just a little more crocheting before I have to go to bed for the night!!!

Have a FABULOUS evening! 😉
