Re-Post: A Quick Cheery Morning!

Good evening!

Instead of taking Saturday nights off from blogging, I thought I would go back, back, waaaaaay back, and re-post a blog posting from my old blog, ChristinaVille. I have decided to call this weekly Saturday night post called a Re-Post! πŸ™‚

I hope you enjoy!! πŸ™‚

Good morning my lovelies!!

I am up and ready to head out to work just a little early today, so I thought I would stop and take a few moments to post this morning!!!

While doing my morning pages, this morning, it got me to reminiscing about one of my childhood friends. His name is Robbie! You see Robbie’s mom, and my mom were best friends growing up, so naturally, Robbie and I spent a lot of time together growing up too!!

I remember both of our families lived in a duplex forΒ  a time, they on one side, and we on the other. Robbie and I were inseparable. We went to school together, played together, went to church together! He was my

;-) Robbie and I would sometimes play in the back yard, and we had this folding table back there that we would turn on it’s side and cover with a blanket. That would become whatever building our imaginations needed it to be for that particular game. Most of the time we would playArmy, and Robbie, every the epitome of a gentleman, would be the soldier, and I would always pretend to be the nurse. My job was to hang out in the table/fort and take care of any wounded soldiers that would come in, and generally remain safe from enemy fire!!! Isn’t that funny!! I think we were probably 8 or 9 when this was happening, and it just makes me smile.

Robbie was my hero; he was faster than any of the other kids – seriously, he could run like nobody’s business! He was smarter than any of the other kids, he was more polite than any of the other kids – not many other kids held the door open for ladies! ;-) He was cuter than most of the other kids!! Looking back, I am sure I had little crush on him!! ;-)

Robbie and I would do all sorts of things together, climb trees, go to the penny candy store (yes, they still had one of those back then), catch bugs, play on the park playgrounds, run around making up games to play with our siblings, and one of my favorite activities at the time, screeching around on our big wheels going as fast as we possibly could!! Man, what fun we used to have!!

Well, we both eventually grew up, and we had kept in contact with each other until our early 20β€²s but, as people change and life moves on we have lost touch. I sometimes think about him and wonder what his life is like right now!? I sure know he really helped make my childhood fun!!

Wherever you are, Robbie!! I hope you are as happy and as blessed as humanly possible!! You TOTALLY deserve it!! ;-)

Did any of you have childhood friends that made your childhood special, like Robbie did for me?? I would love to hear about them in the comments section above! :-)

Have a FABULOUS morning!!! ;-)

If you want to have a different life, you have to live differently!!

Happy Birthday Morgan!

Good evening!

My self-appointed job at all family functions is to take pictures, and as I was going through the pics this evening, I ran across this pic, and it made me realize just how much of a little boy my nephew, Morgan, really is.

You see, tonight was my nephew, Morgan’s, 5th birthday party. The kids all had pizza, and then we met up to go bowling. Morgan has always been really big for his age, he is going to take after my sweetie, his “Uncle Jay-Jay” who just happens to be 6’7″ and wears a size 18 shoe! Morgan is bigger than all of the other kids his age, and can easily pass of for a little boy who is 7 or 8, even though he is just today turning 5.

The party this evening quickly came to an end when in a fit of despair, Morgan cried out,

“Now my birthday party is ruined!”

He wasn’t listening to the adults when he was told not to do something, and he decided to do it anyway, which temporarily got one of his new toys taken away. Well, you would have thought that the world was coming to an end how that normally sweet little boy just carried on and on and on! There was crying, and moaning, and wailing, and all sorts of foolishness – and that was just the grownups! Just kidding!!! It was really Morgan – he was sure that there was no way that he was going to be able to salvage his party after the loss of his new toy.

This picture reminded me that Morgan is still a little guy, trying to find his way out in the world, often times being expected to act the part of much older kids, and sometimes there are going to be nights when he has had too much excitement and has become tired, that “drama” has just got to happen. No matter what, we love our little man!!

Morgan, we love you buddy!!!
May this year be…
Full of fun,
playing,
adventures,
and yes, sometimes even drama!! πŸ˜‰
Happy Birthday and WE LOVE YOU!!!!!

Have a FABULOUS evening! πŸ˜‰

A COLD Happy Friday!!

Good morning!!

We are expecting record cold here in Oregon today, and possibly tomorrow – so I am bundling up to head to work this morning!!!

As I was laying in bed, trying to coax myself out of it’s deliciously warm blankets, I started thinking about recess when I was a little kid!! If recess was a profession, I would have be an expert in my field!!! I remember just being a ball of energy! I loved playing:

  • jump rope
  • hopscotch
  • Chinese jump rope
  • wall ball
  • four square
  • tether ball
  • balance beam
  • crawling tunnels
  • parallel bars
  • monkey bars
  • swings
  • H-O-R-S-E
  • kick ball
  • teeter-totter
  • hula hooping
  • big wheels
  • climbing trees
  • bicycles!!!

Man remembering all these just takes me back!!! Does that make me old?? πŸ˜‰

At what point in your life do these activities leave your list of fun activities??? I am thinking that if I would have continued all or some of these activities, I would not have had the issue with my weight that I do now, and I would presume that the American culture, as a whole, would benefit from the health benefits that these activities provide!! Ok, so now that I am 35 years old, how weird would it seem to see me doing double dutch, or throwing my hopscotch marker, or playing a rowdy game of wall ball??? Who cares if it looks weird, I think I am going to give it a go! I wonder if the condo association would care if I used chalk to draw out my four square grid on the ground?? Having that would just leave me to go round up a friend or two who would be willing to come out and “play”!!!

As I dream about incorporating some recess activities into my regular day, I would LOVE to hear some of your FAVORITE recess activities as a kid! Do you still do any of them? If not, what made you stop?

Have a FABULOUS day!!! πŸ˜‰

I’m Seeeek!!

Good morning!

I have been dealing with some kind of bug all week that has been increasingly causing me to feel really achy, cold, and just REALLY OFF!! I can’t put my finger on it exactly, but what it equates to is that I am just sick (AKA seeeeek)!!! I really HATE being sick, but then again, who likes it??? You see, I am a very needy sickie! My mom spoiled myself and my 4 sisters whenever we would get sick – we would get the princess treatment all day and night until we got better; a special bed made on the couch, we got to hold the remote (something that NEVER happened in my house growing up), we got to eat in the living room, on said couch (which again NEVER EVER happened in the living room), and our mom would basically dote on us and take care of our every need to make sure that we were comfortable enough to recoup!! OH HOW I TOOK THAT FOR GRANTED!!! Nowadays, being a sickie usually means staying home by yourself ALL DAY LONG. No one to tend to your needs, or comforts 24/7. No one to bring you an ice cold glass of 7Up, one of those childhood sickie treats, and no one to make sure that you have warm socks on, or squeeze your toes so you will instantly feel better!! LOL!!! Those were the days!!! AAAAH!! Come to think of it, I am not sure why I wasn’t “Sick” more often as a kid – I could have really lived it up on that scam!! LOL!!!

Anyway, even though I am staying home from work today, I am still going to TRY and get SOMETHING creative done today, ANYTHING! I really don’t want to lose that momentum that I have been working on. I can feel my creativity muscles getting stronger, which has been a nice change! Matter of fact, last night my sis, Alex, and her daughter, V, spent some time in my craft room last night, and we did a couple of projects, which was really quite fun!

It has been kind of rainy/blustery around here, and it has been really getting me longing for a camping trip with my sweetie! Camping is always so good for our marriage, Jason is just one of THE COOLEST people to camp with because he is just so DANG GOOD AT IT!!! Once, early in our marriage, we went camping, and I remember our tent being under this tarp-canopy that Jason had set up for us. It rained SOOOOO HARD ALL WEEKEND!!! The sound was absolutely AMAZING!!! I was so sure that we would somehow wash away, but amazingly we didn’t! I remember being bundled up in comfy sweats, sweater, and Jason’s oversized socks on my feet. It was soooo cold that weekend, that for the most part, I stayed nestled warmly in the tent all weekend, which if you’ve ever camped with Jason and I, know that our tent kind of resembles Jeannie’s bottle, with pillows, and oversized comforters all over the place, on top of an huge air mattress – PURE BLISS!!! I remember that particular weekend hunkering down with a good lust-in-the-dust-book, and both Jason and I either reading, napping, or spending some quality time together just being silly, or talking about our dreams, or simply snuggling to stay warm. Man, I am going to have to get it together and schedule another camping trip for us soon!!! πŸ˜‰

As for now, I am going to take my sickie self and snuggle back down into bed and see if I can kick this bug’s booty while I sleep!!!

As for the rest of you, have a FABULOUS morning! πŸ˜‰
