Some Time On My Own!

Good evening!

Here I am! I have been MIA for a while, I realize, but in all honesty I have been really been busy, and have been taking a break from personal computer time/social media. Tonight my sweetie is at Burning Man, or at least the Oregon version, which is called “Soak”. I am always a little blue when he goes out of town, but this is something that he has really been wanting to do. This is one of those things that is on his life list, and you have to know I will ALWAYS be soooo supportive of him, and his list, so I am ready to have some me time for the next few days!! 😉

For my me time, I don’t have any huge plans while he is gone, but I do have some little plans! Tomorrow night is our bariatric support group. This is the first time I have ever gone by myself, so that will be a change! 🙂

Then on Friday, my niece, Megan is coming over for an auntie night/sleepover! YEAH!! That is always fun!!! I am going to take her to dinner, then to go see the new movie, “Brave”, or maybe bowling, or miniature golf. I am sure we will also squeeze in a manicure!!

GO GIRL TIME!!

Then on Saturday my sis, Nette, and my nephew, Morgan will come over on Saturday so we can go swimming!! Whew!! After they all head home, I have a feeling I am going to have to squeeze in a nap!! 😉

Jason will be home sometime on Sunday, I am thinking probably in the late afternoon, and I already miss him!! We have had a few crazy weeks recently, and haven’t really had a lot of alone time, so I am really looking forward to some quality time when he gets back into town.

Ok, so backing up just a bit. On Friday afternoon, I am picking up a C-Pap machine. I am not looking forward to it, but interested to see if it will help me sleep more soundly during the night.

Oh, you may not know this, since it has been such a while since I posted but we have been really busy on the bariatric surgery prep process. I did have a sleep study, and man that was probably the worst night of sleep/no sleep I think I have EVER had!! I have met with a psychiatrist, physical therapist, and I have met my goal weight of losing 16 pounds! Matter-of-fact I have lost 24 pounds so far. Clothes are much looser, I am getting ready to float down to the next size down! It is quite the dilemma!! 😉 I have almost 80 days until my surgery date.

Jason has finished all of his pre-op stuff, he is down almost 40 pounds, and his pre-op class next week, which means that in two weeks he will be starting his two week liquid diet, and his surgery is about 1 month away!!

Another thing that we have gotten into the habit of is doing nightly walks together, and long walks on Saturday and Sundays! This last Saturday, with my youngest Trina in tow, we walked 6.4 miles!! EEK!!! It took us 2 1/2 hours, and I had two super blisters on my feet when we finished! Not fun!! However, we would have gotten back faster, but yours truly ended up taking a really bad spill after twisting her ankle!! Yep, that is me, and that is why my middle name is “Grace”! 😉 Unfortunately, I twisted my ankle at about the 3.2 mile mark, so I still had 3.2 miles to go to get home!! Needless to say, I spent the rest of the weekend with my feet up!! 😉

Anyway, I realize it is getting late, and I still have to take my evening walk, so I am going to have to cut this short!!

Here is to a FABULOUS evening!! ;-)

If you want to have a different life, you have to live differently!

Some More Weekend Pics!

Good evening!

This is the last evening that my youngest sis in town, so I am going to try and get in some more quality time with her before I have to head off to bed! I wanted to make sure to share some more pictures from our fun weekend!!

After Megan’s soccer game, we had to stop over to mom’s to pick up something, I can’t remember what, but when I had gotten back to the car, this is what I found – Trina reading, “The Witch Has an Itch”. You know there is nothing like some hardcore, intellectual reading for my dear little sis!! HAHAHAHA!! 😉

Trina had been pestering us all weekend to take her to eat at Love, Love! So here we are, and here is one HAPPY girl!! 😉

Next stop, Borders!! Apparently we are ALL BOOKWORMS!!

Reading a cookbook – such concentration!

Next stop our house, and decorating treasure boxes!! Mine is a butterfly!

Trina is making a box to hide a surprise for someone back home! Wink! Wink! 😉

and Megan, made a treasure box for some of her jewelry! 😉

Next, it was downstairs to make french bread pizza! YEAH PIZZA!! 😉

Here is Chef Jason, doling out the ingredients and the instructions!

YUM! Doesn’t that pizza look good??

For dessert, a few rounds of Uno, which I totally got my booty whomped!! Even the 8 year old beat me!! Oh, well! You can’t win them all!! 😉

Finally, we all ended up in our pj’s to watch the movie Tangled!! We were a bunch of very giggly girls!!

SOOOO MUCH FUN!!! 😉

Have a FABULOUS evening! 😉

SLUMBER PARTY!

Good evening!

I would LOVE to write this evening, but my sweetie, Jason, my youngest sister, Trina, and my niece, Megan, are all in the middle of a very happening slumber party, and I just can’t stop the party now!!

I have take a TON of pics today, and I am sure that I will have more tomorrow, but they will all have to wait until tomorrow!!

I am soooo blessed! 😉

Have a FABULOUS evening!!

I Love Auntie Day!

My Family: From left to right: Morgan, Jason (aka Sweetie), Myself, Megan (down below) and Nette!

Wednesday night is the night when my sis-in-law brings her two kiddos over to have dinner and to go swimming. We usually always have a fun time, and tonight was no different!

My niece Megan has gotten to the point that she is swimming like a fish, and she is just dying to perfect her ability to do tricks underwater! I think at this point if she could be a water ballerina, she most definitely would!

Now for my nephew, Morgan, he is a typical 4 year old little boy who has NO FEAR!! He is also swimming like a fish, maybe he is more likened to a little Tasmanian devil who has the ability to swim!!! He is sooo cute to watch because he has almost NO BODY FAT on his little self, so he doesn’t float very well. He really just kicks and flails to keep himself above water, and even though he splashes like there is no tomorrow he manages to get himself around the pool like a little pro!!! Soooo much fun!!!

I just LOVE my Wednesday nights!!!! 😉

As for what I ate today:

Today is day 6 of my 30-Day-Self-Created-Visual-Nutrition-Plan!! I can eat whatever I want, but I have to take a picture of ANYTHING and EVERYTHING I eat and post it on this blog – and have to be willing to take any criticism I might incur!!! The knowledge that I have to take pics and post everything that I have eaten has really curbed a couple of poor choices!! Although, an occasional treat can sometimes be DIVINE!!!

I think I did pretty well today but seeing that I am sitting here typing, thinking, “Hmmmm…I am hungry!” I probably should’ve eaten a little more today, but that is alright – I will keep that in mind for tomorrow.  I did weigh myself today, and found that I have lost 2.2 pounds since I started 5 days ago (I don’t count today, because I weighed first thing this morning!) I can tell that my pants are a little looser, and I seem to have a lot more energy than I had even a week ago! That has probably been my BIGGEST SHOCK!!! I LOVE IT!!!! I think what is making the biggest difference for me is all of the cheerleading that I am receiving through this blog! I am sooooo thankful to all of you for that!!! THANK YOU, TRULY!!!

With that said, here is the pic of all I ate today:

Breakfast: Fat free, sugar free, iced mocha, with a bagel and light cream cheese (I was having a rough morning, I really NEEDED that caffeine!!!)

Snack: None

Lunch: Salad made with spinach and mixed lettuce, rotisserie chicken, diced green bell pepper, and light Dijon dressing

Snack: Yogurt

Snack 2: Grapes with string cheese

Dinner: Sandwich made with spinach, miracle whip, honey ham, and whole wheat bread, and a serving of Sun Chips. I also had 1/2 a glass of Hawaiian tea (only 1/2 of what is shown), it was good, but a little too lemony – me and lemons have never really gotten along so well! 🙂

Snack: A pear, which by the way was SUPER sweet and juicy!!!! YUM!!

Anyway, how are all of you doing? Have you been inspired to make any eating changes in your own life? I would love to hear about it in the comments above.

Have a FABULOUS evening!
