Another Outfit of the Day!

Good morning!!

After many false starts this week, it is ACTUALLY Friday!!! YEAH!!! I am sooooo glad!!! Not to say that I am not going to have to work this weekend, but at least I don’t HAVE to unless I WANT to!! (How else am I going to get a handle on my workload right now???) Anyway, I can feel it in my bones that today is going to be a VERY GOOD day!!! 😉

Do you like my pic??? I decided that I really needed a red-lip day!!! Nothing bad could ever happen while you have on your red lips!!! LOL!!

I have been trying to post a different outfit everyday, and I want to say thank you for all of the feedback I have been getting on my these outfits. It is one thing to think that you look a certain way in your mirror, shocking to see what you actually look like in a photograph, and encouraging to hear what you look like, and how you can JAZZ it up from people who can stand back and look at you through new eyes. So again, I thank you!!!! 😉

Just looking at this picture, I can really tell that I am cross between my mother and father!! Dad’s build, mom’s arms, dad’s face/smile (except for the makeup!), mom’s attitude!! 😉 I can also see, looking at this picture, that I really dress for comfort, and style may be a secondary after thought, which is funny, because I have always thought that I have had a classic kind of look. Forgive the walking shoes – I wear these a lot, seeing that I work at a hospital and I have to be able to get a round as quickly as possible, at the drop of a hat. Hmmmm…any thoughts on the rest of the outfit?? 😉

Well, last evening I had the opportunity to take a couple of pics of Jason and I with Alex and the kids, and I wanted to share a couple of them with you this morning!!

This is our nephew, Christopher, my Sweetie, Jason, and our niece, Victoria!! It was the last photo of the day, and Chris HATES getting his picture taken and both Jason and V were sick, soooooo all-in-all, I think it is a pretty cute pic!!! Don’t they all look sweet? Don’t let them fool you – they are all lil’ stinkers!!! LOL!! 😉

This is my sis, Alex, and myself! I think this may be the BEST picture I have of the two of us!!! She’s my girrrrrl!!! I love you sissy!!!

Outfit of the Day!

Good morning!!!

Ok, I woke up this morning TOTALLY believing it was Friday!! So I started be-bopping through my morning routine, getting ready for work, when all of the sudden it dawns on me – IT IS THURSDAY!!! BOOO! HISSSSS! HAHAHA! 😉 Oh, well! I still now TODAY is going to be a GREAT day!!!

My sis, Alex is coming over this evening – I forgot to ask if we are swimming, I will have to check in with her!!! Anyway, she is leaving for Arizona Saturday morning – I need to soak up her presence, so I can keep some of her joy with me her in Oregon!!! 😉

Speaking of Oregon, what the heck is going on with the weather???? Yesterday, it was sunny, then rainy, then sunny, then it was hailing SO HARD that it actually looked like there was an inch of snow on the ground!!! WHAT?!?!?!? I heard from someone in the main hospital building that you could see it hailing out of the north side of the building, but it was just grey out of the south side – IT WASN’T HAILING ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE BUILDING??? How creepy is that!?! LOL!!! I am not sure how to dress to be prepared today, so I have just done the best I could to be ready for ANYTHING!!!

Talking about getting dressed…I wanted to share my outfit of the day. To be honest with you, this outfit was actually one I wore a couple of days ago, I will share today’s outfit tomorrow!! If I try to do it all in one morning, I find that I am just running around like a crazy person and I don’t have as much posting! So here is the outfit of the day:

I got such great feedback yesterday, I would LOVE to hear your thoughts again today!! I know this outfit is rather simple, but I think it is cute, and I feel good in it!! but any ideas to spice it up, or mix it up, would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Also, on a side note: I have heard that today is Random Act of Kindness Day!! So, I am going to have to keep that in mind and look for some extra Random acts that I might be able to surprise people with today!!! What might you do??? An InStyle Evening!

Good evening!

I have had such a better day than I have had in quite a few weeks! What does that mean? As you probably know, work has been SUPER-CRAZY-WHAT-THE-HELL-IS-GOING-ON-AROUND-HERE-??? for probably the past 6 weeks!! but today our entire team rallied together to work through any and all issues that we had, and took a HUGE chunk out of all of the problems we were having!!! WHEEEEEEW!!

So, on the way home tonight, I decided to break my moratorium and purchased a magazine! EEEEEK! It wasn’t just ANY magazine, it was INSTYLE!!!!

THE MAGAZINE OF ALL MAGAZINES!!!

Did you see the heavens open up and hear the angels start to sing? Ah-Ah-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! 😉 This is the magazine that causes me to drool over every outfit, every hair-do, every made up face!!! Oh how I wish I could have one of these stylists show me how to put my random clothing pieces together!!! I would LOVE to be able to walk out my front door looking tres chic at a moments notice!!!! I will have no choice, but I will have to PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PRACTICE!!!

Anyway, I have a lot of catching up to do in my personal life!! I have been working so many crazy hours, that I am not sure how my sweetie even knows what I look like any more!! 😉 My sis, Alex is moving in 2 FREAKIN’ DAYS!!!! I have got to get my booty over there and see her!!! My house is SPOTLESS – except for my office, which has kind of gotten the brunt of my negligence, and I have got to get crackin’ on getting that straightened again!!! Reading has gone by the wayside, but I am planning on starting a new book tonight called, The Best Year of Your Life, so that should be at least a good start! and I haven’t called my family in weeks!! I need to make sure I reach out and touch someone!! HEE! HEE!! 😉

Oh, and I am dreaming of taking a REALLY SA-WHEET vacation with my sweetie!!! I am not sure where yet, but I am thinking someplace, quiet, cozy, and romantic!! I deserve it for all the CRAZY work I have been doing, and Jason deserves it for being my rock and support!!! Ok, off to plan, and dream, and sleep, and dream some more!!

I wanted to do something a little different today, shocking – I know!! 😉 I have a ton of clothes and I am experimenting putting different pieces together, and thought it might be helpful to get some feedback for you!!! Some More Valentine Day Pics!

Good evening!!

I have had a rough day at work today, one of those take this job and shove it kind of days – I am sure all of you know what I mean, at least at one time or another!!!

Tonight I thought I would take my mind COMPLETELY off of work, and share a few pics of yesterday’s Valentines Day double date went!! I don’t have many pics, but I do have a couple of REALLY awesome ones from one of Errin’s photographer friends, Jade Christensen, who is, by the way, sweet and charming and has the BEST ROCKING SHOE BLOG!!!

Dawn and I getting ready to go out on the town!!! Our “Grown Up Prom!” I love you girrrrrl!! Yes, we have been BFF’s since we were 12 years old!!!

The Day After!

Good morning!

I would like to think that there is going to be a morning where I will be able to get myself ready and blog from my actual PC, instead of my Blackberry, but since my PC is still being temperamental, today isn’t that day! LOL!!! 😉

How was all of your Valentine’s Day??? Mine was a lot of fun – I got to help my best friend’s boyfriend surprise her with an evening of fun and a big marriage proposal!! FUN! FUN! FUN!

To give you a quick flashback of our evening, I picked her up from work early in a limousine – she thought she was in trouble because her boss came out, told her to stop doing what she was working on because she had a very important meeting that she had to get to, “right now!” 😉

We were then on a scavenger hunt, that her boyfriend, with the help of some friends, put together and executed!! Next stop, the beauty salon so she could get her hair done pin-up style. She looked soooo DIVINE and I was soooo jealous!! 😉 I made sure to get the stylist’s card, because HONEY I am SOOOOOO going back!!!

Next we were off to a bunch of various locations that had special meaning for the happy couple. Dawn and I had fun trying to figure out clues, and where we were headed next!

Oh, did I mention we had our own personal papparazzi???? Yes!!! Two of Errin’s friends met us at all of our stops and took pictures of us all night long – so fun! 😉

Anyway, the point of the evening, after getting all dolled up, and more pictures, the proposal! By this time Jason, Errin, Dawn, and I are all riding in the limo, chatting, laughing, and just having fun! When we pull into a empty parking lot, in perfect view of a huge electronic billboard, and sure enough – it pops up “Dawn, will you marry me!” Errin pulls out this gianormous and stunning ring, of course she said “yes!” DUH!!!!

We celebrated by having a FABULOUS dinner at Caruso’s!!! I had the BEST lobster tail I HAVE EVER EATEN!!!

By the time we got home, I washed my face, got ready for bed, and I think I fell asleep as soon as my head hit my pillow!!!

A very fun night!!!

A Dapper Evening!!

Good evening!!

My sister, Alex and her kiddos just left for the evening!! Since Christopher just turned 13 on Tuesday, we decided to let him choose dinner – pizza, of course!!! We played a fun game of Clue, which I haven’t done in quite a few years, and I WON!!! WHOO-HOO!! Then we went swimming, and we swam around like crazy people!!! I AM LOVING SWIMMING – it is making me feel so much stronger and more energetic!! Next a relaxing soak in the hot tub, home and a bowl full of cut-up strawberries, and I am a VERY HAPPY girl!!!😉

Well, last evening I spent at least an hour or so perusing the web for some inspirational outfits, to help me think about my wardrobe pieces with fresh eyes! While I was doing that, I ran across quite a few fashionable men too!! I asked my husband what his fashion style was, and his response was “functional”. BUMMER – not exactly what a girl wants to hear, but I really shouldn’t be too surprised! When we first started dating his idea of dressing up, was to wear something with less wholes in it!! 😉 That is ok, I still love his wraggin’ muffin looking self!!!

Man!! OH MAN!!! I can’t put my finger on EXACTLY what I like in men’s fashion, but I think it is the juxtaposition between rugged tough man, and old-world gentleman!! Maybe you can see that in those pictures!! If only I could find a way to somehow rub just a smidgen of these dapper men’s fashion sense onto my husband, OH WHAT A MIRACLE DAY THAT WOULD BE!!! You know, like a retro-sexual pill!! 😉 and I am sure I am not the only woman out there thinking it!! 😉

Blogging On The Commute!

Good morning!

That is right I am blogging on my way to work this morning!! Today is an early work day, but because it is so freakin’ cold here that we have had to de-ice the car twice!!! Don’t ask! 😉

Anyway, we are almost on our way and I am just so grateful to have had the past two days off – I really needed that!! Work is going to be interesting today, since I am not sure what systems are going to be up or down when I get in this morning, HOWEVER I am having lunch with my sissy, Alex, so I AM TOTALLY EXCITED!!!
😉

She leaves in 8 days, I may have to start stalking her for the next 8 days, since I don’t know when I will see her next!!! I love you, Sissy!!

I got a little daring in my work outfit today, I did take a pic but unfortunately was having some technical difficulties so I will have to post it this evening!!!

Oh, I almost forgot tonight is swim night too, which has been sooooo much fun. When my neice Megan spent the night last night, my husband pointed out that she doesn’t say, let’s go exercise, she says let’s go play, so that is the new mantra that we are adopting in our house! PLAY! PLAY! PLAY! 😉

Anyway, I am almost to work, so I will let you go! Hee! Hee! Like I am on the phone with you or something!! (Sorry, my tiredness is showing!)

Wednesday Work Prep Evening!

Good evening!

I feel well rested and so much better after two lazy days off!!! I am back to work tomorrow, and I think that I will be able to handle any stresses that may come my way much better than I was on Monday!! Our team still has a lot of work to do, and I am sure that we will still have a lot of challenges coming our way as we implement this new process over the next few weeks, but I know that I will be able to be a better team mate, and I am sure my co-workers will appreciate that!!! GO TEAM!! 😉

This evening, I have been dreaming about Spring, and getting back out into nature!! Planning my first camping trip of the year with my sweetie – that is ALWAYS THE BEST FUN!!!

Diane Von Furstenberg says that your clothing should comfort you, flatter you, and make you feel your best, just like best friends!! Which got me to dreaming about what “friends” I would like to see in my Spring Wardrobe! Would you like to see??

Do you think it is possible to own too many dresses??? I am starting to believe the more the merrier!!! 😉 Are there any pieces that you are dreaming would join your Spring closet?

A Sleepy Tuesday!

Good evening!!

I am SOOOO TIRED this evening!!! The past few days of staying up too late, and getting up crazy early has finally caught up with me!! SOOO, tomorrow, I am planning on practicing some EXTREME SELF-CARE!!! What I mean by extreme self care, is that I am going to treat myself like my own best friend tomorrow!! Taking some much need time and effort to take care of myself and treat myself with the same kind of care that I want my best friends and loved ones to be treated with.

Some of those Extreme Self-Care things are:

  • Get up early and have a leisurely morning getting ready for work
  • Pack some calming tea and take a break mid-morning to get away from the office and have a nice cuppa
  • Take some time to go for a walk, maybe take some pictures of some beautiful things while I am out
  • Take a much-loved fiction book to work, and spend my lunch  reading something fun that takes my mind off of work
  • Keep telling myself over and over that it is alright, I am doing a great job, and this will be soooo worth it
  • When I get home, have a simple, but candlelit dinner with my husband, while we listen to some calming music
  • Spend the evening, reading, or walking outside, or playing with my sweetie and the girls – STEP AWAY FROM THE TELEVISION!
  • Slip into a well made bed, early, maybe read a little, snuggle with my honey, and fall asleep peacefully!!!
  • HEAVEN! HEAVEN! HEAVEN!!!

Basically anything, ANYTHING that makes my health, and happiness a priority!!! I really need that, because I have been treating myself a little rough lately!!! Maybe some of you might need that too – what kinds of things would be on your extreme self-care list? Tell me in the comments above!! 😉

I did pick up something tonight, that really MADE MY DAY!! I picked up the latest copy of the magazine ‘Where Women Work’. I am not sure how many of you have seen that, but it is SOOOO INSPIRING!!! It has made me start thinking about getting back on the ball and keep working on getting my office/craftroom beautiful!!! I have made the decision that wherever my career ends up, I know it is going to have something to with computers, creativity, improving people’s lives and beaing surrounded by beauty!!! I KNOW, sounds DIVINE, doesn’t it????

Anyway, I do have a big day ahead of me tomorrow, including a super-early am meeting, which means I have to get up a little early tomorrow morning to get my booty out the door!!! So, that means I have to dash and get a few more items checked off of the to-do list before I hit the hay!!
