I’m Here, I’m Here!

Today has been a pretty good day! Work was long, and hard, and stressful, but I always love a challenge!!! I did make a pit stop at Goodwill! I have decided that if I MUST buy books, then I might as well buy them super cheap, and I did!!! I just LOVE retail therapy!! Especially CHEAP RETAIL THERAPY!!!! 😉

I have been in a girly-glam kind of mood most of today. Here are some of the things that have been popping into my mind all day!!!

Dancing with the Ya-Ya Sisters

Diva lashes

A dripping chandelier

A chic little black veil

All things Chanel

A luxurious feather wreath

What could be girlier then cupcakes???

Tiara anyone? 😉

Anyway, on with my Visual Nutrition Plan, I know I have been MIA the past few days, the only excuse I had was that I had family here all weekend, and I just didn’t make my nutrition a priority this weekend, and the fact that I have gained a pound in 3 days is proof enough to get back on track again!!! 🙂

Today is day 12 of my 30-Day-Self-Created-Visual-Nutrition-Plan!! I can eat whatever I want, but I have to take a picture of ANYTHING and EVERYTHING I eat and post it on this blog – and have to be willing to take any criticism I might incur!!! The knowledge that I have to take pics and post everything that I have eaten has really curbed a couple of poor choices!! Although, an occasional treat can sometimes be DIVINE!!!

So, here are today’s eats:

Breakfast: Sugar-free, iced, fat-free mocha, bagel with light cream cheese

Lunch: Grilled cheese sandwich with sweet potato french fries

Dinner: Grilled chicken breast with grilled corn on the cob

3 meals, what a concept?? I know that this is a departure from my normal 5-6 mini meals a day, but I have been sooo busy at work that I find that this is the only way I can fit my meals in right now!

So, let’s see, what else? Well, I am super excited about this weekend. I am taking my dad out to the little beach house for a special Father’s Day weekend. I am not exactly sure what we are going to do yet, but that is part of the fun of going to the beach house – no responsibilities, no schedules, no to-do lists!!! YEAH!!! I can’t wait!!!

Have a FABULOUS GIRLY-GLAM evening!!!

Daily Update!

Today has been sch a LOOOONG day!!!

I started my day by going to work, and it was a crazy, busy extremely stressful day!! HOWEVER, I had THE BEST lunch date with my Sis, Alex!!! The thing I love about Alex, is that no matter what is going on in her life, she is the perpetual cheerleader!! She just always seems to know what to say, in a straight forward thoughtful way!! Thank you, sissy!! I really needed that!!

So, I got off of work, and headed straight to the laundromat so that I could wash some of my bedding. Most people find that the laundromat is a real bore, but not me. I find that there is something oddly soothing about watching your clothing going around and around, rhythmically tumbling over and over itself. I also love to people watch while I am waiting for the cleaning cycles to finish.

Tonight there is this woman who is about my age, she has 3 sons, who I later learn at ages 7, 8, and 9, they are running around her in circles like banshees. She is obviously frazzled and doesn’t know how to work the payment card or the machines. My heart goes out to her so, I try and help her the only way I can think of, and I show her how the card and machines work. What she really could use is a vacation, or at least a really GREAT nap!!! 😉

After the laundromat, I had every intention of going home, but I was so close to the Goodwill by my house, I decided to stop and “take a look”. Well, 2 hours and $45 later, I “looked”, and then came home with about 10 books, 2 purses, and pair of vintage shoes in FABULOUS condition – AND IN MY SIZE!!!! Ok, so I may need some kind of intervention!!!!

Ok, so I got home a little after 8 PM, and I still hadn’t eaten – so I ate leftovers from dinner last night, called my sissy Jennifer, the same one I was on the phone with yesterday!!! My sweetie called me too, from the road – that was AWESOME!!!

My sweetie left with our adopted grandfather (I sounds like Heidi whenever I say “Grandfather” LOL!). They are on a roadtrip to California. I am soooo happy that they are both doing this, Willy needs Jason, and Jason needs Willy!! I am sometimes very envious of their relationship, but even in saying that I realize just how much I really love those too!!! 😉 Jason is going to do his best to take a ton of pics, and when he gets back on Friday, I will see what I can do to put a couple up on the blog!! Have fun men, and be super safe! Someone here in Salem is sending good thoughts your way!!! 😉

SO, onto today’s eats:

Today is day 5 of my 30-Day-Self-Created-Visual-Nutrition-Plan!! Feeling great!!! I can eat whatever I want, but I have to take a picture of ANYTHING and EVERYTHING I eat and post it on this blog – and have to be willing to take any criticism I might incur!!! The key word being ACCOUNTABILITY!! In addition, I am incorporating more fruits and veggies into my day to help me eat a more BALANCED diet, and get healthy!! The knowledge that I have to take pics and post everything that I have eaten has really curbed a couple of poor choices!! Although, an occasional treat can sometimes be DIVINE!!!

Anyway, here is the pics of all my eats for today!!

Breakfast: Bagel and light cream cheese

Snack: Yogurt

Lunch: Large salad with mixed leaf lettuce, spinach, raisins, rotisserie chicken, cherry tomatoes, and light Dijon dressing

Snack: Sliced oranges

Dinner: Leftover baked beans and a hot dog

Snack: None

Whew! It is late, I am tired, so I am going to get going up to bed!!!

Have a FABULOUS evening!!!

Treasure Hunting!!!

Little Antique Mall in Lincoln City

Treasure hunting this past weekend in Lincoln City (aka ANTIQUING) was sooo much fun!! Now antiquing really has become THE THING TO DO, so my goal for any treasure hunting outing is to find something that speaks to my soul while still being extremely kind to my wallet!!

When I go treasure hunting, I never really have anything specific in mind, but I do have always have a budget in mind! Also, every single thing that I purchase has to be something that I LOVE!! No love, no purchase – it is as simple as that!

My eye always seems to fall on the same kind of items like:

Vintage brooches.

Sparkling chandeliers always catch my eye – aren’t they just divine?? 😉

Fun and funky art – I am always envious of artists!!

Antique glass – ooh shiny!!

More costume jewelry!

Trinkets for a vanity!

Vintage purses!

All kinds of stemware!

Vintage compacts!

Did I mention that I LOVE costume jewelry??? LOL!

I really love antiquing, it could be for anything really, and I must give a great big kudos to my Sweetie because he has the patience of a saint. As long as he has a good book to read, a steaming cup of coffee, he can hang out at this little shop all day!!!

As for the treasures that went home with me that fabulous hunting day; I went home with a fabulous pair of vintage earrings, a la Breakfast at Tiffany’s, a little black hat with a veil, some vintage fashion magazines, and a perfect little book written in 1941 on Vintage Hollywood Glamour!! DELICIOUS!!! May all my treasure hunting outings be as fruitful!!!

Have a FABULOUS evening!!

Weekend Update!!

This past weekend went by in a crazy, hazy, overly-productive whirl!! WHEW!!! It has taken me two days of being back at work to finally feel recouped!!! 😉

Anyway, the weekend started with a mini girls’ night in at my house (always fun!!!) My husband and I actually got home about 50 minutes before either of my girlfriends were going to arrive. Well, in my sometimes A.D.D. way, I told Jason that we just had to rearrange the living room – as if it were imperative to my future happiness!!! LOL! Being the FABULOUS man that he is, he just rolled up his sleeves and said, “Whatever makes you happy, Baby!”!!!! What you might not know is that rearranging living room furniture in my house means that a piano has to be moved over carpet – NOT TOO EASY!!! Anyway, we managed to get it completely done with about 10 minutes to spare (Jason and I are a GREAT design team, and we work great together on this stuff!!!)

Girls night was fun; drinks, chatting, giggling, chic-flick, magazines, dinner – you know, the usual!!! Well one of my girlfriends stayed the night so that we could go up to the outlet mall and spend the day shopping with another one of our girlfriends that we met up with later in the day, and man-oh-man!!! No wonder they are so small – WE WALKED FOR HOURS!!!! WHEW!!! Don’t get me wrong, I had a blast and would do it again in a heartbeat, but at one point I was just praying for ANYPLACE to sit to get off of my tired feet!!! I did manage to find a treasure that day – it was a Liz Claiborne winter coat that was originally $175, marked down to $99, then again to $54, and I got it for 50% from that!!!! WHOOOOO! HOOOOO!!!! I didn’t even know that Liz Claiborne made plus-sized clothing, but they do!!! YEAH!! I will be going there again, and again, and again, and again!!! 🙂

Sunday: well flashback to Friday night, my best friend Dawn (we’ve been best friends since we were both 12) was helping motivate me to get some unfinished projects in my house completed, and I promised her that I would do one project from start to finish on Sunday – so Sunday came. Now, my husband and I live in a small condo townhouse, and have for a little over 3 years. The place has had all sorts of remodeling done, mostly by my husband, and one of the things that has been bugging me is that he built me this beautifully walk-in closet/dressing room that I have completely outgrown!!! (CONFESSION: I am a little bit of a fashion-hoar!!!) Anyway, he and I spent the day hanging shelves, installing rods, moving bookcases and reorganizing and purging clothes, shoes, boots, jewelry, accessories, bags, purses, so that I only kept the things that I absolutely LOVED!!! So, by the time Sunday night hit – the closet was looking like my own little personal fashion boutique and I was spent!!!

I awoke at 3am that morning, sure that I had dreamed the closet makeover, and I had to get up just to check – OH MY GOSH! IT WASN’T A DREAM!!!! YES! YES! YESSSSS!!! 😉

Well, I was soooo excited that it was done that I then couldn’t sleep, so I decided to read a little bit to see if that would make me tired! Two hours later of reading Bridget Jones Diary and I finally fell back to sleep!!! HA! HA! HA!!!

OK, I am back to work – all is going well!!! Weigh in day is tomorrow morning, and I am praying for a loss, but I will keep you posted!!!

Jason and I are also going camping, at the beach, with my sister-in-law and our niece and 2 nephews on Thursday, and will not be back until Sunday night!!! So I will be away for a bit, but I will be back!! I can’t wait to tell you all about it – I know it will be a BLAST!!!

Anyway, I miss all of you – I hope you are still out there!?!?!?! I will see what I can do about posting some pics from me NEW walk-in closet this evening!!! 😉
