My Vision Board

Good evening!

Tonight I had the opportunity to spend some more time with my sister, Alex! We spent the evening finishing up our design boards. Last Thursday, I promised you that as soon as I was done with it, I would take a picture of my design board and share it with you.

So, here it is…

Ok, so I am not sure how well you can see this, but I can explain the gist of what I am dreaming of for 2011.

If I had to narrow this vision board down to one word, it would be PEOPLE. More specifically friends and family. I want a small tight-knit-group of girlfriendsΒ  that I can let down my guard with and just be myself while going out making memories, and having a blast doing things that girlfriends do!!! I would love to have a baby, or at least get the ball rolling in that direction. I would love to travel with my sweetie to Europe. I want to have my own business dealing in beautiful home furnishings, to take a ton of photographs to share, and I want to go hiking, camping, and get out and be all around more athletic. I know, I live in the Pacific Northwest, and I have never had an outdoorsy bone in body, UNTIL NOW that is!!! Oh, yeah – how could I almost forget – I want my little farm, with it’s gardens and walking trails, and memories – you know, I WANT TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!! πŸ˜‰ Ok, no – too much responsibility, but I am sure you get the idea!! LOL!! πŸ˜‰

I want to do everything and anything that feeds my soul.
I want to be the me that I was put on this earth to be,
in the time that I have been gifted.
Now is the perfect time!! πŸ˜‰

Do any of you have vision boards that you would be willing to share?? I would love to see some!! Let me know in the comments above! πŸ™‚

Have a FABULOUS evening!!! πŸ˜‰

Good Morning, Again!

Good morning!!

Ok, well let’s try this again!

I had posted this long post, that I was really happy with, and my laptop crashed! or as my husband referred to it, “The dog ate your homework!!” I hope this is not a sign of things to come. I have another loooong day at work today, and a lot of work that I have got to get done, both at work and at home!! BUSY! BUSY! BUSY!! (I can’t wait to get to my farm – wherever it may be!!!)

I will give you an update of how my 60 day life makeover is going, but in all honestly, somehow it has fallen off of my life’s radar this week, and a whole lot of nothing has been going on with it, so maybe that is the update??? I am day 26 of the 60. I will keep you posted!! πŸ˜‰

Anyway, I am praying for a good day – I am tired, and have to cancel with my sis and her family for swimming tonight, but I am going to work on smiling today, singing a cheery little tune, and finding little pockets of happiness as I go through my life today!!! Wish me luck!!

I hope you have a FABULOUS day! πŸ™‚

A Walk in The Park!

I had soooo much fun taking my walk today! The weather was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!! So I convinced my co-worker to get out of the office with me so we could go for a walk through the park across the street from our office. I made sure to take my camera out with me to get you those pictures that I promised!

Aren’t I such a lucky girl to work so close to such a beautiful park???? I really need to get my booty over there and walk more often!!! I will have sweet dreams tonight!!!

Have a FABULOUS evening! πŸ˜‰

Surprisingly Refreshed!!

Good morning!

I have to tell you, even after burning my candle at both ends with all of the work that I have been doing, I have awoken this morning surprisingly refreshed!!! I am not sure if that is because I am excited about the new day that is to come, or because it is supposed to be sunny today, or a little of both!! I am just EXCITED for some reason!! God is so good!!! πŸ˜‰

I have known since even before it started, that this year was going to be my year, and even though there are events going on that I have no control over, I still think that is true!! This is my year. A year of blessings, abundance, progress, overcoming obstacles, clarity, focus, and new vision!! SO TRUE!!! I believe that this is your year too!! If you are up to taking on the challenge!! πŸ˜‰

My daily mantra right now is,

“I am the artist and my life is my life is my greatest masterpiece,
only I can choose what gets painted onto my canvas!”

I have another 10-hour day at work today, so I am hoping that I am going to be able to maintain my pep and optimism! I am going to have to remember to go out of my way to take a few mini breaks, my walk at Bush Park with my new camera, listen to tons of happy music, and try to find the humor in every situation today!!! WHEW!! That can be a tall order, but I KNOW I can do it!!! πŸ˜‰

Have a FABULOUS day!! πŸ˜‰

Happy Early Monday!!

Good morning!!

At least I assume it is morning, since it is so dark outside yet this morning! I have really gotten spoiled being able to not even have to get up for work until about 7 am!! This morning, I have an early morning meeting, so time is of the essence!! πŸ˜‰ Even with that, I am really looking forward to a fun, and productive week!!! Unfortunately, and so unlike me, I do not have a plan yet for my week – I let myself get busy watching documentary’s last night.

One of the documentaries that I was watching last night that has really got me thinking. It was called, ‘No Impact Man’. Now I know that he is not the first person to try to bring the cause of being green and living a carbon footprint small life to the world, but for some reason, what he and his family did just kind of intrigued me! For those of you who don’t know, No Impact Man is based on a New York city man, Colin Beavan, who challenges his family, of three, to live without electricity, television, non-self-propelled transportation, producing garbage, eating out,Β  eating meat – or anything non-organic, for that matter, or purchasing anything new for an entire year. I think what intrigued me about this family, was it made me think, ok, I would NEVER want to go THIS extreme to go green, but what things can I do to help decrease my carbon footprint on the environment?

I could:

  • Turn my thermostat down one degree in the Winter, and up two in the Summer
  • Start recycling, to produce less waste
  • Purchase more bulk-type foods to reduce my garbage output
  • Wash my laundry with cold water, as often as possible
  • Start a compost bin in the backyard
  • Prepare to grown some of my own veggies this upcoming season
  • Go vegetarian once or twice a week
  • Take public transportation to and from work
  • Purchase fruits and veggies from the local farmer’s market, or directly from local farms when the season opens
  • Go television-less 2 or three times a week
  • Reduce the frequency in which I purchase clothes, and other material goods – in most cases used items work just as well as new
  • Get involved in an environmental project

Whew! Now that I have gotten that down on paper, so to speak, I feel MUCH better!!! πŸ˜‰ I will keep you posted on which of these things I implement! Already: thermostat turned up: check, washing machine set to cold: check. I am on my way!

Have a FABULOUS day!! πŸ˜‰
