A Day of Prayer!

Good morning!

I just wanted to post a quick note this morning before I zipped off to work! Actually this posting is more like a request:

My dad is going in today, at 3 pm, to have his procedure for the prostate cancer that he has been dealing with. Would you mind praying for him today? I know that he is going to be alright, I can feel it in my bones, but I know that he could really use some prayer today – prayer for health, prayer for peace, prayer for rest, andΒ  prayer for a quick recovery!! I really do LOVE that dad of mine, and I just could not imagine my world without him!!

This would mean so much to both me and the rest of my family!

Thank you!!!!

Have a FABULOUS day!!! πŸ˜‰

A Night of Worship with Family!

Good evening!

I have just gotten back from a Sunday night worship service at The Salvation Army in Albany, Oregon tonight!! I don’t know if you know this about me, but I grew up in theΒ  Salvation Army church. My dad called us earlier in the week and asked me if we would come out this Sunday evening because they happened to have a combined service only about a 15 minute drive from our place – so of course Jason and I were in!!!

Jason and Trina

Myself and my Dad

Not only that, but my dad sang a solo this evening, and I was lucky enough to record him singing. My dad, and most of my family have been singers for as long as I can remember. But, my dad has, for the most part been the soloist of the family, and I haven’t had the chance to hear him sing for quite a while – so tonight has been a treat!!!

I did try and record it, but apparently my camera has a mind of it’s own and ate my video, and won’t spit it out!! DANG!! I know my Dad’s wife, Trudi recorded a copy of her own, so I will have to share it once I get a copy of that!!

Which is really a shame, because not only does my dad have a strong, rich voice, he plays guitar BEAUTIFULLY!! You see, my family is Hawaiian, and so my dad plays in a style that really incorporates the sound of slack-key. I can listen to my dad play guitar all day – it is Heaven in my ears!!

I have it on my life list to create a music CD with my dad in a recording studio. Tonight reminded me of that, and it also has inspired me to get on the ball and figure out how to make that happen! Hmmmm….

Here are some more pics I was able to capture this evening:

Trudi and Dad chatting up their peeps!

Faye, Lila, and my Dad

Jessica and Trina (they were so giggly, it was hard to get a clear picture!!!)

Jason and Trina being giggly!

Me “mothering” Trina, of course! πŸ˜‰

Trina and I

and this guy is the guy I got to bring home with me – what a CUTIE!!! πŸ˜‰

As I was posting pics this evening, I realize that I don’t really have hardly any pictures of Trudi, she is always so busy running around, setting things up, chatting with people!! I am going to have to be more stealthy and try capturing her next time I see her!! πŸ˜‰

Tonight was a lot of fun, and I am so thankful that I was able to spend some time with some of my family! I can’t wait until next time!! OH, I will definitely post that video of my dad singing as soon as I can get my hands on a copy!!! πŸ˜‰

Have a FABULOUS evening!

Back to Work Monday!!

Good morning!

I am up, showered, dressed, and ready to go face this new day!!! It is back to work for me this week, which is good! I am thankful that I was able to take time off (11 days, matter of fact!! WHOO! HOO!), but I am ready to get back to the office and see my office-mates again!!! I have missed you, Chris!!! πŸ˜‰

Anyway, as for my 60 Day Life Makeover plan, I did take time out last night to not only plan my weekly goals, but my daily ones for this week as well!!! I have a lot of work to do, but I am excited to see the new me – I KNOW SHE IS IN HERE, JUST RARING TO GET OUT!!! πŸ˜‰

My biggies for this week are:

  • Lose at least 2 pounds
  • Walk at LEAST 30 minutes each day
  • Go to church this week
  • Put an extra $100 into savings this week
  • Read at least 1/2 a book
  • Finish cleaning, organizing, purging the office

WHEW!!! I can do this, I just have to stay dedicated and focused!!! All of my 60 day goals help support me in getting my little farm – at least in some small way!!! I just have to visualize myself walking the trails on our farm, laughing with our visiting friends and family, or reaping the harvest from my little vegetable garden, and it gets me motivated all over again!!! I am so excited to think that that little farm could be less than 5 years away!! Less, if it is in God’s Will!! πŸ˜‰

I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. – Philippians 4:13

On another note: I slept GREAT last night! I could have slept a little longer, but that is what happens when you don’t make your sleeping schedule a priority while on vacation.

Talking about vacation…my sis, Nette, and her family just got back from their honeymoon/vacation in Hawaii! I can’t wait to see them and hear all about it. I know that they had fun, they did send us some pics while they were gone!! The pics were of Megan dangling her newly tanned little self from a bamboo tree, and Morgan and the guys were all looking like they were having fun snorkling!! I can’t wait to see you guys!!! πŸ˜‰

Anyway, I am going to finish up getting ready to head out for work today! I know that today is going to be a MARVELOUS DAY!!! I can just feel it in my bones!!

Have a FABULOUS day!!!

A Prayer for the Heart!

“Become what you believe.” – Matthew 9:29 (Message version)

Dear God,

Thank you for Your message this morning, I am always amazed how You always know exactly what I need to hear – and this morning’s message was no different. I give my thoughts over to You. I pray that they are pleasing to you and honoring of those around me. This is an area that I struggle with – fear and negativity. I pray that You give me the wisdom to keep my thoughts focused on You, Your blessings, and the small joys that I experience everyday because I am one of Your children. Give me courage to share my faith, expand my territory so that I may be of help to others who may need me, and please keep me from evil, and those who would wish me harm. Show me where you would have me, and help me to be flexible to do Your will.

I love and thank you, πŸ˜‰

Your daughter,

Swimming with the Kiddos!

I just got done swimming with family!!! I LOVE doing that, especially since playing with the kids is THE BEST DISGUISE for exercising!!! WHEW!! These kiddos REALLY WORK ME OUT!!!! Man, I am soooo sore, but so HAPPY!!!

Anyway, I heard a Bible verse in the car on the way to the office this morning, and it has been running through my mind all day. The verse was:

As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.

Proverbs 27:17 (New Living Translation)

All day, I was thinking I think this is a verse that I have to share with my husband because somehow it meant he was lacking something and I was going to be able to share this verse to help open his eyes, and I would be the hero that helps “fix” him. Well, as the day went on, I realized that this verse was really presented to me this morning to open my eyes to my own flaws. I need to learn to lean on my girlfriends more. I sometimes have a tendency to shut myself off from people for fear of getting hurt, and this verse tells me that if I have faith and let people in, they can actually “sharpen” me and make me a better person. What a great lesson! Thanks, I needed to hear that!!

Have a FABULOUS evening! πŸ˜‰
