All Things French!!

Bonjour!

I have had a FABULOUSLY lazy day today!!! YUM!! I Really needed that!!!

Normally I am awake at 7:30 like clockwork on a Saturday morning, that is as late as I can make myself sleep in!! Well, this morning I was SHOCKED when I saw the time when I woke up this “morning”; the clock read 12:30 PM!! WHOA!!! Because of the extra temperature outside, my sweetie had insulated our bedroom window with a heavily quilted blanket, which has caused our room to be VERY dark!! I can’t say that I am complaining, I really haven’t slept well all week, and I feel like I am finally caught back up!!!

Anyway, I have been hanging out with my Sweetie this evening, and reading blogs that have to do with anything French and just collecting some REALLY SWEET pics!! I thought I would share a few with you! ENJOY!

These pictures makes me long to go to Paris, and bring back a whole horde of furniture and accessories, have them reupholstered, and open up a French Boutique!!! Ooh La La! That would be a dream come true!!! 😉

Have a FABULOUS evening!!! 😉

Back Home!

My sweetie and I are back home from a very nice, and very relaxing weekend at the coast. I think I might have come down with a bug, but at this point I am planning on “walking it off” so to speak, because I am just too busy to be down sick right now!!! 🙂

On a positive note, I am so excited about a treasure that I did bring home from the coast. I have been looking for some additional seating for my living room, and I got EXTREMELY LUCKY this past weekend! I found this small, vintage, black leather rocking/swivel chair, which fits perfectly in one corner of my living room!!! Not only that, but I got it for $14.00!!! CAN YOU IMAGINE!?!? It is in near perfect condition, it is just needing a little elbow grease to clean it up! I am sure it was because people don’t usually go to the coast to purchase furniture! People are usually hunting for costume jewelry, books at a great price, and other vintage knick-knacky-type things!! So, I was literally at the right place, at the right time!!! 😉

Oh, another note, I was feeling froggy last Thursday morning, and decided it was time to cut myself some bangs!!! I usually have my girlfriend, Dawn come over and do it for me, but I figured it was time to “Queen-Up” and just do it for myself!!!! I am pretty happy with them, I think they make me look younger!!! Here are the results: My bangs were originally reached past my chin!! I would love to hear what you think!!

I am getting ready for my work week by getting my laundry done, and I have a lot of work to do going through my entire book collection! I have to weed out those books that I don’t absolutely LOVE to make way for some new reads! Some day I will have a massive library, but for now, in my little condo, I need to make sure that I use some restraint! and honey, “Restraint” is not a word that used often in my vocabulary!! LOL!! 😉 but I am working on prioritizing!!! 😉

I am off to do some domestic goddess work – you know it is a tough job, but someone has got to do it!!!

Have a FABULOUS evening!

Happy 4th of July!!

I love the 4th of July! It is the one weekend a year that my husband and I can always count on to get away from it all and spend a quite weekend together to celebrate our anniversary. We were married July 1st, 1995, so that makes this weekend our 15th anniversary!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT???? This year we decided to spend our anniversary out at the beach house! and we have been having a VERY RELAXING time!!! We got out here Thursday evening, and we have spent time treasure hunting, book shopping, watching glass blowers create all sorts of beautiful and interesting art, sitting at the ocean the ocean, walking around the outlet mall, visiting coffee shops, trying new little restaurants, and reading. Did I mention we have been spending time reading??? I have read 2 books from cover to cover since we have gotten out there, and I am close to finishing a third. I am reading the Percy Jackson series, and it is a very good read. It is a young adult series that is about some kids who are half human, half gods – as in the Olympians – you know, Zues, Athena, Aphrodite, etc. It is a fun read, and one that I will have to look for the series in hardback so that I can add it to my collection.

Anyway, Jason and I are sitting in a cyber-cafe right now, and there is new age, mystical music playing, which is not usually my style, but it is very soothing. It is making me want to take a nap – I didn’t sleep well last night. I can always tell when my mind is starting to get concerned about having to get home and go back to work. My job really stresses me out; on one hand, I want to do the absolute best I can do while I am there, on the other hand, I know that my job is not what I was put on earth to accomplish, so I am torn. I think this past weekend has really helped me decide what I want to be “when I grow up”. It is going to take a lot of work, and a lot of penny pinching and money saving, but I think ultimately it will be such a blessing to LOVE what I do!!!

Anyway, I think I am rambling! I know it has been a while since I have last blogged and I want to make sure that I do now get out of the habit of writing – even if it happens to be some ramblings from a tired woman who is on vacation!!! 😉

Jason and I will be heading home tomorrow, so I will be writing again from home!!

Have a FABULOUS and safe 4th of July!!!

Treasure Hunting!!!

Little Antique Mall in Lincoln City

Treasure hunting this past weekend in Lincoln City (aka ANTIQUING) was sooo much fun!! Now antiquing really has become THE THING TO DO, so my goal for any treasure hunting outing is to find something that speaks to my soul while still being extremely kind to my wallet!!

When I go treasure hunting, I never really have anything specific in mind, but I do have always have a budget in mind! Also, every single thing that I purchase has to be something that I LOVE!! No love, no purchase – it is as simple as that!

My eye always seems to fall on the same kind of items like:

Vintage brooches.

Sparkling chandeliers always catch my eye – aren’t they just divine?? 😉

Fun and funky art – I am always envious of artists!!

Antique glass – ooh shiny!!

More costume jewelry!

Trinkets for a vanity!

Vintage purses!

All kinds of stemware!

Vintage compacts!

Did I mention that I LOVE costume jewelry??? LOL!

I really love antiquing, it could be for anything really, and I must give a great big kudos to my Sweetie because he has the patience of a saint. As long as he has a good book to read, a steaming cup of coffee, he can hang out at this little shop all day!!!

As for the treasures that went home with me that fabulous hunting day; I went home with a fabulous pair of vintage earrings, a la Breakfast at Tiffany’s, a little black hat with a veil, some vintage fashion magazines, and a perfect little book written in 1941 on Vintage Hollywood Glamour!! DELICIOUS!!! May all my treasure hunting outings be as fruitful!!!

Have a FABULOUS evening!!
