Chunky Dunker’s Night!

Good evening!

It is that time of week again, Chunky Dunkers!! WHOO! HOO!!! ;-)

Chunky Dunkers is a group of friends who get together every week to cheer each other on as we all work towards our own personal health and fitness goals. Some of us want to lose weight, some want to become more flexible, some of us would love to be able to run a mile, and some of us would just be happy if we could just reach our long-lost toes!! ;-)

The name Chunky Dunker’s came from my sweetie and my two youngest sisters joking that we don’t skinny dip, we chunky dunk, and after all of the laughter finally died down, we realized that that would be the perfect name for our newly created support group!! We have been going for about 8 months now (if not longer), and it is still a group that I get excited about meeting with every week.

I try to post the Chunky Dunker’s post every Wednesday evening between 7 and 7:30, Pacific Coast time, and after I post, we “meet” in the comments section of this post where we can all share hints, tips, ideas, recipes, and encourage each other to keep on keepin’ on!

If you would like to join us, please feel free to do so by speaking up in the comments section, or feel free to be an anonymous reader – that is alright with us too!!

So, without further ado…

Tonight’s topic: Shaking Things Up in the Kitchen

I have been spending some time this evening on Pinterest, and looking at all of the different food recipes that people have posted. I am very inspired to get into my kitchen and start shaking up the ho-hum, and turn it into OH-YUM!!

(Do you see what I did just there??? LOL!) 😉

There are so many different kinds of meals out there that for some reason seemed to not be on my radar, until now that is!! I am going to take a few of these recipe ideas, and give them a shot. Even if they are a complete and utter failure, I will have flexed my bravery muscles, which will make it easier to keep my kitchen repertoire a little looser, funner, and a lot more varied!

When was the last time that you tried something new in the kitchen?? Tried a new recipe, bought a new and different fruit, vegetable, or other food item, or put things together in a way that you hadn’t before? Shaking things up this way in your food habits could get you out of cooking slump, and turn your everyday mundane cooking chore into a gift of untapped creativity.

My challenge to all of us this week is to do a little pre-planning and get into your kitchen and shake things up a bit!! Come back and tell me what you were able to come up with!! I LOVE hearing your stories!!!

I can’t wait to hear how all o f you have been doing! I will “see” you in the comments section!! GO CHUNKY DUNKERS!!!

Here’s to a FABULOUS evening!!! ;-)

Evening Alice. Hey Babes. I had a new menu item this week. A really simple sandwich that consisted of only three things. A tasty french roll, a piece of roust pastrami, and a slice of cheese. Nothing else. It was yumy.

been busy and tense. I finally paid the rest of my balance with my bankruptcy lawyer today. They will be filing on Tuesday and stopping that damned garnishment that pulled $600 from my check today!

      1. Alexa Moody

Evidently they are doing that each paycheck. So that is why they have to file next week so they stop it before my next paycheck

Taco salad is one of my favorites!! Right below Shake ‘n bake pork chops, and paper bag fried chicken!!!

My diet would be much easier if I craved brocolli, bell peppers, and cucumbers!! 😉 (Oh, and gassier!!)

So for Valentine’s Day…Jason picked me up for a picnic that he had prepared himself. We went to City Hall and had a picnic in the rain under the cover there!

Then we both went and got library cards, and checked out books – doesn’t sound too romantic, but trust me, it was a win!!

Then we went to the movie theatre and watched a really crappy movie, but still it was good to be out with Jay!

Next back to the house, watched a great movie, and then Jason made a fantastic BBQ meal, we played ca few hands of yhatzee, and then we had some time dancing a little!!

How is that for summing it up!! Jason did GREAT!! I LOVED it!! 😉

Jason, what was the name of the movie we watched at the theater? Whatever it was, it was BAD!!! No plot, bad shaky camera, and a lot of scratching your head and saying “WHAAA???”

I got my recent blood test back…my free testosterone dropped 5.2 points. Which is great! My overall testosterone has gone up 11 points which is not good. She sent the test to the specialist to see whats that all about.

The tent size? Well, it fits two queen size air mattresses pretty well. Except the beds do get wet from condensation! So, it sleeps 4-ish???

    1. Alice

ok thanks we are looking into getting a new tent that the pools dont fall apart so easly but not sure yet

Anyone hear from dad? I really need to get on the ball and call him!! I get to see the aunts (Alice, Malia, and Flo) on Saturday, that should be fun! We are going to Benihana’s!! I’ve never been there before!!

    1. Alice

Dad is good we saw him last ngith they are making him where one of those stockings for a week without taking it off he hates it but oh well it is for his own good.

  16. Christina Post author

Oh, I know what you are talking about, Alice! both of our tents are awesome that way, and the poles don’t slip out of each other until you actually pull them out, so they are pretty cool!!

I can’t wait until we get to go camping again this year!! Always fun, as long as I can’t hear the ocean!! (Tsunamis, you know!!) 😉

      1. Christina Post author

AAAAAH! JENNIFER!! YOU ARE A GENIUS!!!!!!! Where have you been when I was camping with Jason this last year! You could have save Jason a HUGE HEADACHE!!! LOL!!! 😉

      1. Christina Post author

Hey, I could walk farther than you, Alice!! Maybe that should be the challenge, to see who can walk the most miles? or time??? That would be motivating!!

  17. Christina Post author

If I walked all the way to Roseburg, you would have to have an ambulance on standby on the freeway before I even hit Enchanted Forest!!! LOL!!! 😉

  18. Jennifer Basso-Benson

I found out some other news today. We didnt get hardly any state taxes back like we should have because we where informed from the IRS that we owed money to the college. So after talking to the IRS for a half hour trying to figure what that was all about we went over to the college.

  19. Jennifer Basso-Benson

That was a whole new adventure there. They said they couldnt help us because Austin signed up for a class and was never dropped from it since he never went to it. So he blew up big time. That was very imbarassing. I understand why he was so mad because I was just as mad. Good thing I know the security guard there and I calmed him down before we would of had to leave the campus. I went threw all the chanels and red tape we where suppost to go threw for all that. Now we are just waiting to hear back.

I was thinking about getting some online schooling done, but with a stressful work life, and Jason not living at home right now, I just can’t handle anything else!!

      1. Christina Post author

That is alright, Sis!! I know something will get better!! and I am sure that Jason and I will work things out, one way or the other!!

  21. Jennifer Basso-Benson

So the hour we spent there going from office to office I basically found out that because the instructor didnt drop Austin from his class, like he was suppost to, we have to pay the $300. Thats what they took from us from taxes. He never even went to the school at all that term and he already spoke to financial aid that said he could go to school unless I paid for it outright before hand. So the person who was helping him should have dropped all the classes right then and there, but didnt.

  22. Jennifer Basso-Benson

So I took it all the way to the Vice President of the school and hopefully hear some good news. The rule is if he doesnt pay he cant go to school, but if he doesnt go to class he cant be in the class. So neither makes sense on why he would get charged for something he didnt even go to.

  23. Jennifer Basso-Benson

Well, I am going to get going as well. I am going to go check on the laundry and put away the dishes before Austin and Trina get home. They both went to go see Star Wars in the 3D…I dont like that movie so I stayed home.

  24. Christina Post author

Why don’t we both just keep it super simple, and track minutes walking?? That way we can both keep track easy peasy, and report next week!! 😉
