Chunky Dunker’s Night!

Good evening!

It is that time of week again, Chunky Dunkers!! WHOO! HOO!!! 😉

Chunky Dunkers is a group of friends who get together every week to cheer each other on as we all work towards our own personal health and fitness goals. Some of us want to lose weight, some want to become more flexible, some of us would love to be able to run a mile, and some of us would just be happy if we could just reach our long-lost toes!! 😉

The name Chunky Dunker’s came from my sweetie and my two youngest sisters joking that we don’t skinny dip, we chunky dunk, and after all of the laughter finally died down, we realized that that would be the perfect name for our newly created support group!! We have been going for about 8 months now (if not longer), and it is still a group that I get excited about meeting with every week.

I try to post the Chunky Dunker’s post every Wednesday evening between 7 and 7:30, Pacific Coast time, and after I post, we “meet” in the comments section of this post where we can all share hints, tips, ideas, recipes, and encourage each other to keep on keepin’ on!

If you would like to join us, please feel free to do so by speaking up in the comments section, or feel free to be an anonymous reader – that is alright with us too!!

So, without further ado…

Tonight’s topic: Heart Health!

I am not sure if all of you knew this, but this past Friday was National Wear Red Day, for Heart Health. I, of course, wore red that day, and unbeknownst to me, I would become a celebrity. Ok, that might be an overstatement, but I did make the cut on our hospital’s Wear Red video that they put out on the web. I honestly didn’t know anything about it, except that one of the multimedia guys stopped me as I was eating a piece of celery (thank you, I was being very good!!), and asked if he could take my picture. So, being the ham that I am, OF COURSE I SAID YES!!! Well, little did I know that he was actually taking a video. So without any further explanation, here is the Salem Hospital’s video on Wearing Red for National Wear Red Day for Heart Health!! BTW, I am near the end of the video, and don’t you dare blink, because you will seriously miss me!!!

Well, there you have it!! My nano-second of fame is officially up *SIGH!*

I can’t wait to hear how all o f you have been doing! I will “see” you in the comments section!! GO CHUNKY DUNKERS!!!

Here’s to a FABULOUS evening!!! ;-)

Faye is great! Here puffy cheek was back to normal by morning, and she was back on the floor playing, chasing us as we were walking down the halls!! We think she might have just eaten something she was allergic to???

  3. Christina Post author

LOL!! We think she might have eaten a peanut that had fallen on the floor. We had caught her licking the heck out of a peanut shell that one of us had dropped!! unshelled peanuts is the new snack food in this house, right now!!

I don’t know how long for Jason, I think it is a year long assignment. It sounds like he is trying to really make it a learning opportunity!!

When he wants something he is sweet, personal, enjoyable and plays with the kids…but anything that doesn’t go xactly how he thinks it should…Terrible Egotistic Enraging Nimrod comes out full force!!

      1. Christina Post author

Well, he is still young, and still thinks the whole world revolves around him!! I just hope that he outgrows that phase quickly!!

Spend the next week eating no starches after 2 PM. That means Natural starches and others…breads, noodles, potatoes, rice, beans. Make evening meals a nice salad or vegies with lean meat.

think about it…it is one of the changes I have made…not to say I didn’t just have a bite size crunch with a little PB

Yes, I had a bit of a relapse at the candy jar at work yesterday!! I was super stressed and ended up eating like 4 of the mini candy bars all in one go!! OUCH!! No wonder my weight was up a little this morning!!

Yes, water is something that I have a pretty easy time getting in, thankfully!! 😉 Also getting more exercise will happen when my weight comes down a bit. Right now I am living in Bengay!! Smells great, but I sometimes feel soooo old!! 😉

Oh, you know, I think those are books that Jason was into – Game of Thrones. I just finished reading the series “The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel”. If you look at my main blog page, on the right hand side, you can see which books I have read. I make sure to list them there. This series, has 5 books: The Alchemyst, The Magician, The Sorceress, The Necromancer, and the Warlock. The 6th book comes out in May, it is the last of that series! 🙂
