Good evening!

Welcome to another lovely evening of Chunky Dunker’s!

Chunky Dunkers is a weekly weight loss/get fit support group that meet here online every Wednesday evening to get the opportunity to comment, and cheer each other as you each go through your journey to get fit and healthy!!! We will discuss hints, tips, and ideas on losing weight, staying motivated, and achieving your fitness goals, whether that is to lose 5 pounds, to do 10 sit-ups, or just incorporate some healthy habits into your daily life!!

As always, everyone and anyone is welcome to join us, so please feel free to chime in on our conversation in the comment section above, or you are welcome to quietly follow along, whichever you prefer. I look forward to hearing about all of your successes!

This week, I thought I would share 10 swaps that will help make you get fit goals a little bit easier…

  1. Swap out your daily snack with a piece of your favorite fruit.  Save calories and guilt.
  2. Swap one of your daily side dishes for a veggie. Every little but helps.
  3. Swap your high carb breakfast with eggs. The protein with stick with you longer helping you feel full longer.
  4. Swap out pretzels and chips for some unsalted nuts. These are chock full of good-for-you-fats.
  5. Swap one meal each day with a huge salad, loaded with colorful veggies, lean protein, a handful of nuts and maybe some beans.
  6. Swap solid fats like butter or shortening, with olive or canola oil. Your heart will thank you for it!
  7. Swap red meat for more lean cuts of meat like chicken/turkey breast, and fish.
  8. Stop drinking your calories. Water is your friend.
  9. When you first wake up in the morning, spend at least 5 minutes doing some gentle stretches to wake up your body.
  10. Spend at least 1/2 an hour outside EVERY day. Fresh air, sunshine, and exercise will all help you feel more relaxed, and it will help you use up any extra calories you might be holding onto.

I hope that these 10 ideas help you, I know that I don’t always stick to these, but I think I will make a concerted effort to follow all 10 of these for the next 7 days. I will let you know how it goes!

        Same ol thing. My period stopped for a week and then restarted again. The doc knows all about it. She wants me to call her again if this time it last for more than ten days….I wont be able to get pregnant if I am broken.

        Work seems to be getting better for me! I am starting to fly through a lot of my assignments, which is exciting! I really like that part of the job!! 😉

        I know how that is at work. I get there and lift my head and it’s time to go. It’s crazy busy and I am adding more onto my marketing plate for our team.

      Trina is having problems with her comp she is trying to fix right now. She said she would be on as soon as she is done figuring out whats going on with it. My comp is broken when it comes to having a mouse…..so I am doing this all by hand. I miss having a mouse.

        OH! Chris told me that he is having trouble in his computer tech class and I asked why…because they are teaching them on Mac’s and he and I have never been on those before. I told him he may need to ask his Aunt Lisa about them. That is all she uses.

        Yes, I am sooo wanting a MAC! I love all of the creative things that it is automatically set up to do, right out of the box! THAT WOULD MAKE ME SUCH A HAPPY GIRL!! but, they are spendy!!! OUCH!

    I am actually feeling pretty burned out, to be honest with you! I am doing a lot right now, and not sleeping well, so I may be crashing and burning! My body is protesting pretty badly, and I have been feeling crummy – not like me at all!! 😉

      OH EM GEE!!! I totally feel ya! This bed at the hotel is cheap and I can feel the springs and my whole back hurts and I toss and turn. I have been having trouble trying to keep my head straight at work. LOL!!!! It is still 111 degrees here in Phoenix. URG!

        That for me would be THE WORST – the heat!! This week we are having heat in the 90’s and I am sure that is why i am becoming more and more grumbly!!

        But 111????? HELICOPTER-NOOOO! I would pack my bags and come back to Oregon!! LOL!!;-)

        Yes, this is one of my weaknesses – I am working on it! 😉 I think I am working through that “F” word that i am always dealing with – Fear!! 😉 but I really am figuring it out! 😉

      I think I am going to create an artist ritual with a prayer, a candle, and some music to start my creative sessions – so I can get out of my own head, out fo my own way!! 😉

        I was inspired by one of my first art teachers! She started class with a meditation – really worked!!!

        BTW, I am hoping to squeak into another one of her spiritual collaging class on Saturday!! Class is full, but I am hoping someone drops it! 😉
