Good evening!
I have literally spent ALL weekend, in artist mode!!! I am sure my husband must be thinking that I am MIA or something!! This weekend has been such an inspiring weekend, and I am feeling WILDLY validated by my new artist community friends that have been commenting like crazy and cheering me on from all over the world!
I FINALLY feel like…
I have found my calling.
I have found my artist medium.
I am finding my courage.
I am finding my voice.
I might even have found ME!
Before I spend the rest of my weekend totally and completely focused on spending some quality time with my sweetie (I really am married to the GREATEST MAN – Thank you, Love!!!), I really wanted to show you a few of the projects I have been working on this afternoon!
This one is the only project I have actually finished this evening. I used decorative papers, ink, acrylic, and polymer clay to make this piece. I am calling this one, “Mamma’s Lessons for a Happy Life”.
These next two projects are still works in process. This first one, so far is acrylic paint and ink. I am not sure where I am going with this one yet, but this is a much different color palette than I am used to, but I am playing with textures on this piece.
This one is also a work in process, and this one is made, so far, with decorative paper, crackle medium, cardboard, ink, and polymer clay.
and finally…
This is not a piece in itself, but more of an experiment that I tried today, that I really fell in love with, and that is creating words from metal stamps and polymer clay. I LOVE using words in my art, and this is such a fun way to do it, I am very happy with the way these turned out.
Anyway, I am back to my regular, non-creative full-time job tomorrow, but I have to confess that I will probably have a hard time concentrating knowing that I have got so much that I still want to create back in my art studio!! I will have to be patient!!
IT WILL BE WORTH IT!!! 😉
Have a FABULOUS evening!! 🙂
Don’t you just LOVE the metal stamps? They are one of my favorite new things! I envy you your time in the workshop. I’m laid up with this stupid broken ankle and can’t get around much until I get my cast on on Friday, so I can only dream about all I will create next weekend! But at least I got a lot of computer stuff done. Have fun for me! (looks like you did!)
Oh, I am sorry to hear that you have a broken ankle! That can’t be fun!!! WOW, and you don’t get your cast until Friday!! Maybe someone had better get you a sketch pad you can at least draw out some things you might be able to work on!!! I hope you get back up and at em as quickly and as painlessly as possible!! 😉
Hey sis! the pics aren’t coming thru on my side. Maybe later they will work for me.
Did these ever show up for you?
Oh how pretty! I think my fav is the one with the dress!!!! That is cool!
Thank you, Sis!! That one is my FAVORITE too! 😉
Christina, I love what all you’ve been working on, especially the one with the dress. I didn’t get much done this weekend, too much time on the computer; but it was all in a good way!
Thank you, Carol – and YES, it all can be overwhelming, but YES also in a good way!!! 😉
I love everything you are doing. As for me, i do art in some form or another every single day. i find that even jotting down ideas about what i’ll do next is a form of keeping my heart going in the right direction. if i’m not creating i’m reading an art book or magazine. the wheels are always turning!
Oh I LOVE those ideas, Terry, you don’t mind if I “borrow” those do you! 😉
