We Love You, Oprah!

Good evening!!

I got home this evening, and was VERY excited to see that my sweetie had recorded Oprah’s last episode!! So, I have spent the last 45 minutes watching and crying, and watching some more!!

I just LOVE Oprah, as I am sure a lot of you have too!! Oprah has been a constant in my life since I was 10 years old! Always bringing words of wisdom, comfort, laughter, and inspiration! A friend when I needed a friend, a momma when I needed a momma, and an auntie when I needed an auntie!! I have dreamed about being a guest on her show, and have dreamed about being in the audience during one of her greatest things episodes!!

What I think I love the most about her final episode is that it is just her, all alone, speaking to us. Speaking to me. I love that she speaks about God, capital “G”, and how important he is in our lives! It is so GREAT to see someone of such high visibility talking about “God”, and not calling him something safe, or PC. Calling him by name is so powerful, and I am not sure why I needed to hear that, but I find that I really did! Thank you, Oprah!!

Also, her message about it being our responsibility to know what kind of energy we are bringing to any situation, really hit home for me!!! This made me question, “What kind of energy do I carry around with me every day?” I know that I am going to be thinking about that all day tomorrow, and for the rest of the week! I want it to keep me conscious of what energy I am bringing into the room at work, at home, at dance class, with friends, family, or complete strangers!!

Oprah has made me want to somehow change the world, even if that is only through helping my small circle of friends and family! I want to leave an indelible mark on this world. I am not sure what that is going to look like, but I know that it is greater than I that would be accomplishing this!

I know that this is not the last we will hear of Miss Oprah, rather this will be the beginning of a new adventure in her life. I can sit here with confidence and know that no matter where she is or what she is doing, I can know that she has made me a better me for having listened to her, and observing her actions! I thank her dearly, even though I have never even met her. I pray for her in all of her future endeavors, and I KNOW in my soul,  that someday the two of us will meet, and I will be able to express my gratitude to her in person!!

Until that day, Oprah, WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU!!!! 😉

Have a FABULOUS evening!!

Hello Chunky Dunkers!! How is everyone’s week going???

My week has been pretty hectic, and I am sure my weight is on the up, up, up because I can’t seem to stop snacking, AND I am too dang sore to get my fat booty out there to get moving!! SAD! SAD! SAD!!

I will get it together, folks – I WILL!!
    ~C 😉

Even though you don’t wanna move, you still got to get out there and shake your booty. I go out and do walking everyday after work even though I am sore and tired and I don’t want to do it.

I agree with Jennifer! No one is saying go power walking… just get out and walk with your honey and the girls and enjoy nature. Listen to the winds and the birds. Now I know yesterday was raining…so rainy days…just go to the pool and play. Don’t have to do laps…just play…that is still moving! And then a soak in the hot tub will be the perfect night cap to send you off to lala land. LOL

Yeah well, we both are having a rough time of it. I seem to have lost my apatite and Have either not finished my meals or not eaten seconds. That may seem like a good thing but its strange for me. Hopefully its not a health problem. Cus you KNOW Pappa needs to lose some weight. And not eating as much is a good start.

    1. Trina

For me, I have just been eating too much. I need to cut back on what I eat and when I eat it. Jennifer has been trying to get me to stop eating after 8, and sometimes I do that, but not all the time.

      1. Jennifer

I try to not eat after seven if I can help it. Usually it works for me, but some days I work until after eight and I will try to eat something lite.

    2. Alexa Moody

Well Jay maybe your body is starting to adjust to the changes you are making. And that can be a good thing. How about leaving the seconds alone from now on. Eat slowly, chew your food good..take drinks of ice water in between bites and enjoy your wife’s company. You will realize that you are getting full and your plate should still have some food on it. And don’t mount it on there either. It takes 20 minutes for the food you are eating to hit the bottom of your tummy and to realize that you have filled up your belly.

  4. Jason

Hey Jen, I miss you. When are you gonna move here to be with this side of your Family.

      1. Alexa Moody

LMAO!! That is funny but they do love you intensely Jennifer and Trina and they want their girls living close to them. Can you blame them?

  5. Trina

I haven’t been doing that well this week. I have been eating more fruits than before and I have gone on a few of the walks with Jennifer, but I am not really into it right now. I need to get on the bandwagon.

    1. ChristinaVille Post author

Don’t worry, Trina! I am right there with you!! Except, eating more fruits and and walking with Jennifer is still GREAT!! don’t knock yourself too hard, Lil’ sistah!! 😉

  6. Jennifer

My week is same ol’ same ol’….no real change in anything. Not lost anymore than the week before. I have kind of plateau on my weight.

    1. ChristinaVille Post author

Well, keep on keeping on, Jennifer, even if you stay the same weight, your cardiovascular system LOVES all the working out right now!!! 😉

    2. Alexa Moody

I agree with Chrissie. Still continue doing what you are… sometimes you can go a couple of weeks with no results then one morning you get on the scale and realize that you actually lost some weight. Our bodies can be very mysterious!
Also bodies do get acclimated to our routines and they stop being effective. Like when our bodies become used to an antibiotic…then you realize it doesn’t work on you anymore. That is why the professionals say to change up your routine.
So maybe this weekend…go for a hike in nature or walk on the beach. Those sands are a bear to walk through and it works you out!

    1. Trina

Thanks, but, the truth is, if it wasn’t for Jennifer, I wouldn’t be doing anything. She is the one making sure that I do something and I wouldn’t have lost the 8 lbs I have without her help. Thanks Jenn. ^_^

      1. ChristinaVille Post author

LOL!!! Too funny!! It sounds like I might not be the “bossy” sister anymore – I will have to come up with a new label for myself! HAHAHA!! 😉

      2. Alexa Moody

LMAO!!! You know it is wonderful what a support team will do for you, but you are the one who lost the weight…off your own body. So do give yourself some credit.
Also…take a look at us ol’ ladies…tee hee…. we have a lot of knowledge and wisdom in our years and know what we are talking about. We are just now having to apply them to ourselves as well. I could write a health fitness book on the info I have stored in my head…just have to practice what I preach…LOL!
My mom used to tell me when I was your age, that it was so much easier to lose the weight when you are younger than when you are older. GD!!!!! She was right! URG!

      1. Alexa Moody

LOLLLLL!!! I am so laughing over here in my cubicle.. My desk mates are asking what’s so funny.

    1. Trina

There is not elevator that works and you can sleep next to the fridge if you want, it is your choice.

    3. Jennifer

If you want the noise of the ice machine I can always get a bag of ice and chew on it really hard near your head.

  7. Jennifer

I walk an hour four days a week, then a half hour of shaking everything on my body to music….(I call it dancing to music) I try to do that at least everyday.

    1. Jennifer

Well, come on down. You are the next customer in my new stripper establishment called, CHUBBS

      1. Alexa Moody

OH EM GEE!! Your killing my sides here in downtown Phoenix. I missed out on so much last night! BAH HUMBUG!

      1. Trina

I told you, I need compensation of some sort before I will do it. I almost killed Taylynn on Tues. so there might not be a difference on Sat.

  8. ChristinaVille Post author

Dang!! That stinks!! I have a NICE LOOOOOONG honey do list for Jason that I am hoping to knock out at least a few items off of this weekend!!! 😉

      1. Alice

    1. Trina

You didn’t pick her up did you? That might not be safe. I have heard that she is dangerous. lol

      1. Trina

If we are strangers, then no Santas this year for you. I don’t give presents to strangers. ^_^

      2. Alexa Moody

Hey Alice…what kind of bugs are eating your plants? You many need to go to the store and pick up some natural pesticides. I know ashes keep slugs away and soapy water keeps aphids away… talk to your brother-in-law…he can tell you.

  9. ChristinaVille Post author

You guys are soooo silly!! Alice, if you saw her on the side of the road, why didn’t you stop and pick her up?? Jen, were you walking??

    1. Jennifer

I flash them for the advertisement. We have no real idea on why they honk. They just do so we wave.

      1. Trina

One time, the person who honked was in a Walmart truck and Jennifer and her two friends were still in their Walmart uniforms. It was kinda funny.

  10. Alice

    1. ChristinaVille Post author

Strawberries are really hard, especially if you have little people trying to pick every single berry as soon as it starts looking like a berry! I used to do that when I was little!! GUILTY AS CHARGED!!! 😉

  13. Jennifer

I wont be able to get the last week of June off. Its already posted and there are two cashiers off that week.

    1. Trina

Yeah, one lady is going to be gone at the end of June because her daughter is going to have a baby and she is going to be with her, Lisa will be gone a lot at Camp Baker, and the other lady I work with is in and out of the hospital so I don’t know what my schedule is like.

  14. ChristinaVille Post author

Well, I hate to flee, but it is well past my bedtime, and I can always tell I am tired by how much farther I slouch on this couch, and right now – it is a pretty dramatic and sad slouch, so I am going to take my tired self up to bed!!!

Thanks for joining me tonight!! Jason and I were a little lonely last week when only he and I were chatting!! It is sad when I am upstairs and he is down, and we are both the only two talking via computer, when we are the only two in our tiny condo!! SAD!!!

I love you lots!!! I can’t wait to hear about everyone’s progress next week!!
    Toodles!!
