Chunky Dunker’s Night, Week 11!

Good evening!

Welcome to week 11, of the Chunky Dunker’s Club!! Welcome back to those who join us every week, including those of your who silently follow us, and welcome to those who may be new to my blog this evening. I am happy to say, that after last week’s slight hiatus, we are no back on with our regular weekly meeting.

Every week I post a new Chunky Dunker’s article ever Wednesday evening, and you have the opportunity to comment, and cheer each other as you each go through your journey to get fit and healthy!!! We will discuss hints, tips, and ideas on losing weight, staying motivated, and achieving your fitness goals, whether that is to lose 5 pounds, to do 10 sit-ups, or just incorporate some healthy habits into your daily life!!

Tonight’s topic: Cleaning Out the Kitchen!

There is something that I am sure a lot of you have already done, me?? Well, apparently I am having a tendency to do some of my fitness tasks a little out of order. This week for our house is a week of getting out kitchen ready for fitness, which means we need a Major Kitchen Cleanup STAT!!! That means, throwing out the junk food (sugary, processed, chemical-laden, energy sucking food) and replacing it with healthy substitutes (whole, once alive, colorful, energy giving foods).

So for our kitchen that looks something like this:

LESS OF/NONE OF MORE OF
  • Sugar
  • Nuts
  • Sodium
  • Beans
  • White/bleached/enriched flours
  • Seeds
  • Unnecessary chemicals
  • Fresh fruits
  • Processed foods
  • Fresh vegetables
  • Saturated fats
  • Whole grains
  • Trans fats
  • Lean protein
  • Polyunsaturated fats

Now, I realize that that is easier said than done, but I have to tell you that the man that I have been married to for almost 17 years, the man I love, the meat and potatoes man made me the MOST DIVINE vegetarian dinner this week, and I WAS SHOCKED!! It was light, delicious, filling, and we both commented on how GREAT we felt after we had finished eating it!! Not only were we not overly full, we felt good about having made such a healthy choice! I want to have more nights like that!!

And knowing that Jason has lost about 6 pounds, and I am down a little over a pound from last week, I have to say that we must be starting to doing SOMETHING right!!! 😉

So, in the comments section tonight tell me how you are doing, but also what changes you have made in your kitchen to help make your fitness goals easier!!

I am rooting for you!!

Have a FABULOUS evening!! 😉

I have been doing a lot of changes these past four and a half months. I shop mostly on the outside walls of the grocery store, walk 1 1/2 hours a day for five days a week, keep moving around at work, have rocker shoes, and dance around with Trina for a half an hour a day everyday of the week. So hopefully some big changes make a huge change for me. Obviously the eating better isn’t helping me much at all. No fast food, no soda, no chips, no sugary anything, and a list of sit down places that I cant eat at. I haven’t lost any weight from eating better or the Phentermine.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME, chicka??? Last time I saw you, you couldn’t walk even 1/2 an hour without your ankle really starting to bother you! So, you are doing AMAZINGLY well!! Don’t discount all of your healthy eating, it sounds like it is helping you have more energy then EVER!! You go girrrl!! 😉

I have had a lot of fun belly dancing all around the house this week, and playing outside with you and the girls! if I can just be more consistent on the nutrition part of my plan, then I think I will be good to go!!

    1. Alexa Moody

I am so proud of you continuing to belly dance chiquita!!! WAY PROUD!!!! And kudos for the pound loss!!! Celebrate all victories…no matter the size!

      1. ChristinaVille Post author

I know every oz counts, at this point!!! I am soooo LOVING belly dancing!! It just is too empowering to not want to do any longer! I can honestly see me doing it for the rest of my life!! FUN!

    2. Jennifer

Sounds like fun. I love those pics of the dogs having a blast. I miss doing that with all of you.

      1. ChristinaVille Post author

Yes, we miss it too!! I was serious about us getting together again!! Has it been 6 weeks yet, hahaha!!! When is the next time you and Austin are coming up?

      2. Jennifer

I have no idea when we will come up. Austin and I never have the weekend off together. I hope soon. We just never know. Also it has been six weeks last week. I told you that when you had texted me about not having the chunky dunkers meeting last week.

What is something really fun that could also be classified as exercise this week?? Hiking at Silver Creek Falls? Walking the Riverfront? Swimming?? What do you think??

  3. Jason

Ooh hiking sounds awesome. Or walking the riverfront too. Or maybe we could walk the Bush Park trail.

  4. Jason

I think tomorrow I will go for a swin first thing in the morning to get my blood pumping, and limber up, then go for a long walk.

    1. Alexa Moody

Good idea Jaybird! My week has been fine. I went out of town this weekend. Saturday I went with a male friend to Sedona for lunch and did a little hiking there at Red Rock River and it kicked my bootie! Then we traveled to this old haunted mining town on the side of a mountain that is full of history and art gallories and all kinds of goodies. Has hills like San Francisco…kicked my bootie again and then had dinner in Prescott at the historic restaurant/saloon called The Palace for primerib. It was a long day …got home and in bed just after 10pm.
Then picked V up at 8am and went to Yuma to spend the afternoon with Nahni and make her dinner and then back on the road home! WHEW!!! I Was exhausted!!!

      1. ChristinaVille Post author

If it takes two hours to drive to your house, how long exactly would it take us to WALK there??? Man, I need a nap just thinking about it!! 😉

Hey, Sis!!! I have lost a total of 5 pounds in 11 weeks, so don’t beat yourself up too hard!! Just starting to make healthy changes is a part of the process!! 😉

      2. Alexa Moody

Alice it is all about your choices and what you decide to do with your body and health.
If you take baby steps it is much easier than gigantic ones that seem like there’s no way to accomplish them.
For instance…. do you drink soda, juice or whatever instead of water?

      3. Alexa Moody

Kudos sis on the weight loss! 5 lbs is a lot. Have you ever seen the health teacher or doctor bring out that 5lb blob of fake fat? I cannot believe I have that hanging all over me! ICK!

    1. Alexa Moody

Small victories Alice are celebratory as well! You did not lose but you DID NOT gain!!! Congrats!!!!
And you took your son for a walk!!!! HEEELLLLLOOOO!!!!! DARLING!!!!!!! That is another reason to pat yourself on the back!!!!

      1. Alice

thanks i am trying the weather is so nice and he hates being inside so we went out. we have also been working on the yard and getting a garden going so yeah sweat alot

  5. Alice

so my green beans are going slow. nothing from my leeks or lettuce. strawberrys look good to. and no all Pauls

    1. Alexa Moody

Now see….you are doing exercising. There is bending and lifting and walking around involved. I bet you go to the LiveStrong site and it will tell you how many calories you are burning just doing that. Give yourself some credit!

      1. Alice

hehe gavin loves green beans and we have a friend who knows how to can them so we are trying that

  6. Alexa Moody

OH!!! I want to share my wonderful find with you all. I told Chrissie about it on Monday. Skinny Cow now has out some candy bars. 3 of them. And they are 110 calories and HIT that spot when you are having a sweet craving.

  7. ChristinaVille Post author

SO, have I told you that Jason has surprise date planned for us on Friday?? He is being very secretive, which I am loving – but I am just soooo jazzed that he planned something!! YEAH!! GO JAY!! 😉

  8. Alexa Moody

I am very excited about you spring cleaning your kitchen and making it a more healthy eating kitchen. That will represent you two much better for what you are trying to accomplish and set into motion.

    1. ChristinaVille Post author

Yes, I was so surprised that Jason was willing to have a meatless dinner! we had corn on the cob, smashed potatoes, and cherry tomatoes!! It was DIVINE!!

      1. Alexa Moody

That does sound very yummy!!!! Good job brother! Now to incorporate a green veggie in there instead of two starches…. Just saying…not being critical at all bro!

    1. Alexa Moody

When the beef steak tomatoes are in season…you ought to cut up thick slices and top it with a slice of mozzarella cheese and some olive oil…they have recipes up the wazooooo with a cold dish like that.

      1. ChristinaVille Post author

Thanks, Sis!! I think this one is headed for the trash! it is soooo dark!! I was too lazy to run and get a glass of water for rinsing my brush – I didn’t want to miss anything!!

  9. ChristinaVille Post author

Well, I hate to run, but I am starting to crash and burn for the night!! So, it is time for me to get ready for bed!!

I love you guys! I can’t wait until next we chat!!! 😉
