The Chunky Dunker’s Club, Week 9

Good evening!

Welcome to week 9, of the Chunky Dunker’s Club!! Welcome back to those who join us every week, including those of your who silently follow us, and welcome to those who may be new to my blog this evening.

Every week I post a new Chunky Dunker’s article ever Wednesday evening, and you have the opportunity to comment, and cheer each other as you each go through your journey to get fit and healthy!!! We will discuss hints, tips, and ideas on losing weight, staying motivated, and achieving your fitness goals, whether that is to lose 5 pounds, to do 10 sit-ups, or just incorporate some healthy habits into your daily life!!

Last week we talked about visualizing your fit, healthy, and vivaciously energetic, most perfect self. This is still one of my favorite exercises because all it takes is closing your eyes, holding still and visualizing yourself as that person. Did you notice anything in yourself that would need to stop or start doing to get to that person in your mind??? I know I did, and still do.

Tonight’s topic: Hitting a Plateau

I am not sure about any of you, but have any of you hit a plateau in your fitness/weight loss goals? I really have!!! I am not sure if it is my lack of motivation, lack of face-to-face support, or if I have just have myself too busy learning to tap back into my creative self, or it could be that I am just sore! Besides my belly dancing class once a week, I really haven’t done much in the way of exercising! BOO! HISS!! I know!! I can’t believe it either!!!

AREN’T I SUPPOSED TO BE OUR SUPPORT GROUP LEADER???
AAAACK!!

Ok, that might be a little melodramatic, I know that I am human just like all of you are too! So, instead of kicking my booty about it, I am hopping back on the bandwagon! I am making my fitness a priority, and I have got to start making healthy eating more of a priority – although I have to say that most of my fruits and vegetables are now organic, so that has got to count for something, I think!?!?! πŸ˜‰

So, I recommit!

Here is my contract with

you,

but even more importantly, my contract with

myself!

I, Christina, hereby solemnly swear to move my body with some kind of an aerobic activity for at least 1/2 an hour every day.

I, Christina, also vow to make sure that I carry a small journal with me at all times so that I can write down whatever I eat or drink, no matter how horrific or terrifying my food choice is at the time. I will not berate myself for what I write, but will use the log as a learning tool to do better next week.

I, Christina, will treat myself nicely, gently, and lovingly, as if I were my own best friend. I will keep an eye on my self-talk to make sure that I remind myself that I am happy, I am blessed, and I am healthy, because I deserve it.

I, Christina, will remember that this process is a journey, and not a destination; that once I hit my ideal weight/size, that life doesn’t stop there. This is about living and loving life to it’s fullest, and looking for ways that I can be a blessing to those around me every day!

Signed & Dated this Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at 6:00 pm.

Do you need to make a contract with yourself?? If so, that is your homework!!

GO CHUNKY DUNKER’S!!!

Have a FABULOUS evening!

Sorry to hear that Chrissy. I do my best everyday. Walking an hour with friends and moving to music for a half an hour. Thats the best I can do?!?! I should do way better than that. I spend more time on the comp than that.

Don’t knock yourself Jen. Remember what Chrissie said above… Treat yourself lovingly and with kindness. You don’t do something or don’t do something right or screw up….LEarning opportunity only! Don’t beat yourself up!
I hear you are doing great! Even if it doesn’t show on the scale…. you are doing things that are healthier for your body and your body will catch up and reward you handsomely.

It was ok….the little ones walking with us made it a little hard this time. Xander fell and made his finger bleed and Trenton threw a few for most of the walk.

The kids belong to Ashley. She is one of my friends that we walk with. Her husband, Jason, was riding his bike on the path and Trenton wanted to be with him on his bike. So when he got out of eye sight he flipped out begging for Daddy.

We are trying to walk everyday. There are some days we wont be able to because my foot will hurt way too much from work.

  3. Jason

My week is going pretty good. I am eager to get paid by Willy for some work i did so I can maybe get a Bike I can ride. Last time I looked it was $225.00 for a good road bike that could hold my weight. X my fingers, hope they still have em and on sale. I will be a riding fool. I will ride it everywhere I don’t need my truck for.

Sounds fun love!!! I am a little jealous, but I can’t ride my bike a block without feeling like I am dying!! I REALLY need to get out there!!! πŸ˜‰

  6. Jason

More like by Butt, after that long a ride you would have to peel me off the seat. Then sit me in an ice bucket.

  7. ChristinaVille Post author

now that would be a site! who would peel you off of the seat, and where would we get a big enough bucket for you to fit into??? funny visual!! πŸ˜‰

It was a great date and he took me to a really nice restaurant and had great food (i was very good) and great conversation. OH and a few kisses in the parking lot..> TEEE HEEE!!!!

Yeah I Visualized myself riding a bike. Living on a farm eating healthy food I grew myself. It was so peaceful.

Sorry, my internet is still not working on my lab top. That is why it takes me so long to post. I have been exercising almost everyday for at least 30 minutes with Jennifer. I have only had 2 sodas this week and I will try to work out more this week.

    1. Trina

Well I was also able to do two different episodes Sweatin’ to the Oldies videos without stopping in the middle of the episodes. Of course though, I did take a break in between the two videos, but I was able to do more. It made me so happy.

that is what happens when you start getting fit!! I am glad you are taking care of your health now, when you are young and not starting out like we are, in our mid to late 30’s.

in my vision, we will have a covered area out in a field with a couple of lounge chairs, it will have a tin roof so we can listen to the rain, and sliding glass doors to open up and let the warm breezes through, or close and enjoy the rain. lights for reading, and a ceiling fan for when its really hot out.
It will sit on a rise, with low flowering shrubs all around, and a few fragrant shrubs for…well….fragrance.

sounds loveley! as long as I have gardens, walking paths, and lots of space for entertaining!! I want a shop and art studio, someplace where I can hold all of my art classes, and maybe even a guest house where we can house ladies who are attending my art retreats! Now, how does that sound for heavenly??? DIVINE!!

  12. Jason

as long as they leave me alone when they are there. In fact I think I will go Fishing at those times lol.
