Welcome to our 2nd meeting of the The Chunky Dunker’s Club!
Every week I post a new Chunky Dunkerβs article ever Wednesday evening, and you have the opportunity to comment, and cheer each other as you each go through your journey to get fit and healthy!!! We will discuss hints, tips, and ideas on losing weight, staying motivated, and achieving your fitness goals, whether that is to lose 5 pounds, to do 10 sit-ups, or just incorporate some healthy habits into your daily life!!
Tonight’s topic is Finding a Weight Loss Partner:
Losing weight can be difficult for any dieter. You have to constantly deal with food temptation and find the motivation to exercise. To help you through any pitfalls that may get in your way you should look for a friend to help you reach your weight loss goals, you may have a better chance of actually losing some of those extra pounds this time around!
- Find a friend who has similar health and fitness goals as you do. They can be people in your immediate circle of friends, or you might find them online, or maybe you can find a weight loss buddy through a paid program like Weight Watchers, or Jenny Craig. Take your time, this task sounds easier than it actually is. You want to make sure that you choose someone who will help motivate you, while you are also able to motivate them!
- Establish some ground rules. For example, a little competition is a good thing, but too much can turn friends into enemies. Competition is the heart of the dieting partnership, so go ahead and push each other a little! But make it clear that the leader pulls the other up! NO ONE IS LEFT BEHIND!!!
- Find a good time for both you and your weight loss partner to get together, whether it be to exercise, try a new healthy recipe, or just to talk about how things are going. It should be win-win for both of you, never should one have to sacrifice time all of the time. Alternate times depending upon the available time or workout on the time available. If you have an online buddy, find a time that you can chat while walking in your respective neighborhoods, hands-free headsets make that easier than ever nowadays.
- Communicate. A major part of any friendship is communication. Keep this up as you both start to reach your weight loss goals. A friend can help one remain on track.
- (THIS ONE MIGHT BE MY FAVORITE!!) Pre-plan some awards for your progress, whether it be a manicure or pedicure after so many weeks of consistent effort, or some fun outing after a specific weight loss achievement. Make sure the rewards are non-food-based, realistically achievable, not too far off in the future, otherwise you might give up before you get there, and something that jazzes you when you think about it, so it keeps you motivated to keep going!
My questions for you:
- How did your week go?
- Were you able to implement any of the changes that were discussed last week?
- Is getting a fitness partner something that you might do?
- Does anyone have any yummy/healthy dessert ideas? I am an ice cream fiend, and I can tell I am going to need some help in this area!!! π
We will meet again next Wednesday evening!! and if you watch my blog daily, I will make sure to post some words of encouragement under my signature line just to keep us going, and to remind you that I am in this with you!! YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!
Until next week GO CHUNKY DUNKERS!!!
Have a FABULOUS evening!!
Well, I did alright this week, especially since I was sick for part of it. I think I did really well at getting in more water, and I did get more movement in this week – I could still use more!!! So this week, I am going to have to bundle up, be prepared to get wet in the rain, and get moving!!!
Let’s see, I am interested in getting a diet buddy, but I think that is kinda why I started this group! So I could have a place where I can rant, and rave, and share, and get support – that is what friends and family are for!!! π
I also really like the idea of rewarding myself for milestones achieved – I know, shocking right???? LOL!!! I love the idea of getting a pedicure, a facial, some new jewelry, maybe a pair of cute shoes, or a really fun weekend get away for a big achievement??? Eventually PARIS!! Ok, so I might have gotten a little ahead of myself!!! π But I think you get the idea!

I think you have the right idea about Paris…how about splurging on Paris when you have met your goal?!!!
That would be SOOOOOO DIVINE!!! π
Hi everyone!
Okay so today I woke up and took my blood sugar test, which I haven’t done in some time…and it was 143. That was before I ate and took my meds. That is really good for me! Hasn’t been that low in a long time.
My week has been not too bad. I have been making better choices and not eating as much. So that is good.
As for a fitness partner…I am not ready for that. I am so big that everything hurts. I do want to find a place / gym that has a pool that I can do low impact exercising and aerobics.
I did find Blue Bunny Sweet Freedom Krunch Bites. There is no sugar added and it has Splenda in it. It is vanilla ice cream covered in a lite chocolate with krispies and only 100 calories!
Good job, Sis!!
Baby steps, baby steps! Swimming is where it is at for me too, right now!! I would love to get back into walking, but I am afraid that I might have done too much damage to my knees, ankles, and feet training last year!! I just wish it wasn’t so hard on my hair and nails!! What we do for our goals!!! LOL!!
Plus, I will have to try those Blue Bunny bars, they sound yummy!! π
I am eating one now and it is divine!
Some of my substitutes are: frozen cool whip lite, very yummy – especially sandwhiched between two graham crackers, and I have recently heard that you can freeze bananas and mash them up and they are just like ice cream too! I haven’t tried it, but it sounds yummy!! π
I love whip cream…I just have to eat about 3 or 4 tablespoons and I am sweetened out! LOL!!!
I will have to try the bananas though and let you know.
I was just thinking that you could pour a small bowl of rice krispies. Then take a tsp of baking cocoa and mix it in your cool whip and take a spoon of whip and dunk it in the rice krispies….NOW DOESNT THAT SOUND YUMMY?!
ooh yes, that does sound good! Well you know, there always the old standbys of skinny cow chocolate mint ice cream sandwiches!! Those are so good, if I am not careful I could eat 3 or 4 of those!!! It is a good thing they are pre-measured!! LOL!
a little fruit with a dollop of whipcream. yummy. Helps the sugar craving.
I would love to lose 20lbs before NY. Guess I gotta get over this stupid cold and get to working out. I wish we lived closer we could go walking together.
Yes, walking would be so much fun!!! But you are right, that would be quite a commute!! LOL!
Strawberries with whipped cream is always a HUGE hit in our house!! I just love when the strawberries are nice and plump and sweet!! YUM!!! and OH SO GOOD FOR YOU!!!
You can lose 20 pounds (20 pounds is my goal too), I will cheer you on!! Let me know if you need any support! I am here for you!! π
~Christina π
When the weather gets a little warmer I am suppost to go walking with some friends from work. Right now though I have been moving around as much as possible and also putting music on and doing all my house chores at once.
No workout partner for me right now. I just still eat as best I can and keep busy. Hopefully all will work out in my favor. I just hope to keep busy to keep my heart rate up. I hope everyone is doing great. Sounds like everyone is keeping to their goal.
Just keep doing what you are doing, which sounds like u are doing a lot!!! Our goal is lifetime success not overnight fizzle!!! I love you, sweetie!!! π

I did pretty good this week for my goal. I walked pretty far when I was at work and around the school. I also only had two sodas this week instead of everyday like I have for the last few weeks. I don’t have a workout partner yet, but it is only week 2. I plan on trying to not have soda at all this next week.
You go girl!!! Yes, soda can be a toughie to stop drinking, but I know you can do it!!! I love you, Miss Trina-Bean!!! π

Only one bad day, where breakfast was not obtained before leaving…oh well. Next I plan to bring shoes to work to walk at lunch, no group to walk with, it is too hard to work that with my schedule…just going to go if I can get out of here.-
You go, Sis!!! If you want a walking partner on a Saturday morning, just let me know!! I can’t commit to every Saturday, but maybe every other – if you would like a walking buddy!!! I am sure that Jay might like to join too!!!!
Love,
~C
