Quickie Update!

Ok, so I am trying like a fiend to get in bed within the next 3 minutes, I am going to make this super short and sweet!

It is a rainy night here in Oregon, and I LOVE listening to the rain pelt the windows. When I got home today, I took a moment to sit in the car and just listened to the rain hitting the metal roof of my car, it was soooooo relaxing! Well, as I was sitting there there just soaking up the peace and quiet, when all of the sudden I looked at the mini blue flowers that grow in front of my condo, and what did I see? A tiny humming bird!!! IN THE RAIN!!! It was sooooo AWESOME!! I caught myself holding my breath just hoping it wouldn’t notice that it was being spied upon, and hang around so I could just watch it for a little while, which it did!! I realized in that moment, that it really is the small things in life that makes life worth living!! 😉 This week at work has been super hectic – everyone seems to be in a panic mode of something or other! Whew!!! So, I really needed that little rendezvous with that little humming bird!

Today I was basically living off of a major to-do list today, and although I had every intention of getting EVERY SINGLE item done, it didn’t happen!!! It’s all good though!!!

Here is what I did get done:

  1. Flossed
  2. Got to work on time
  3. Grocery shopped – buying nothing unhealthy!!! YEAH!!!
  4. Made dinner at home
  5. Dinner
  6. One load of laundry
  7. Practiced my piano lesson
  8. Gave the dog her medicine
  9. Cleaned the laundry room
  10. Bagged up the garbage

I have soooo much more to get done, but it will have to wait until tomorrow!!!

Tomorrow, I will have to spend a good portion of the evening at the laundromat washing my feather comforter and another large blanket off of my bed! I am determined to go to bed in a crisp, freshly made bed tomorrow night – starting the weekend off right! Not my favorite Friday night plans, but I am going to make sure I take a FABULOUS book, and a travel mug of rich hot cocoa!!! PERFECT!!!

Ok, so I missed my bed time deadline! That is alright, I will try it again tomorrow! I have got to start making my rest a priority!!! My new late night habits are evening starting to stress my puppies out! Poor things!! LOL!! 😉

Have a FABULOUS evening!

Treasure Hunting!!!

Little Antique Mall in Lincoln City

Treasure hunting this past weekend in Lincoln City (aka ANTIQUING) was sooo much fun!! Now antiquing really has become THE THING TO DO, so my goal for any treasure hunting outing is to find something that speaks to my soul while still being extremely kind to my wallet!!

When I go treasure hunting, I never really have anything specific in mind, but I do have always have a budget in mind! Also, every single thing that I purchase has to be something that I LOVE!! No love, no purchase – it is as simple as that!

My eye always seems to fall on the same kind of items like:

Vintage brooches.

Sparkling chandeliers always catch my eye – aren’t they just divine?? 😉

Fun and funky art – I am always envious of artists!!

Antique glass – ooh shiny!!

More costume jewelry!

Trinkets for a vanity!

Vintage purses!

All kinds of stemware!

Vintage compacts!

Did I mention that I LOVE costume jewelry??? LOL!

I really love antiquing, it could be for anything really, and I must give a great big kudos to my Sweetie because he has the patience of a saint. As long as he has a good book to read, a steaming cup of coffee, he can hang out at this little shop all day!!!

As for the treasures that went home with me that fabulous hunting day; I went home with a fabulous pair of vintage earrings, a la Breakfast at Tiffany’s, a little black hat with a veil, some vintage fashion magazines, and a perfect little book written in 1941 on Vintage Hollywood Glamour!! DELICIOUS!!! May all my treasure hunting outings be as fruitful!!!

Have a FABULOUS evening!!

I’m BAAAACK!!

My Sweetie & I

To say that my Sweetie and I had a GREAT time this past weekend is a HUGE understatement. I agreed to a weekend getaway with the caveat that my husband was allowed to be 100% in charge!!! Now, for those of you who don’t yet know me, let me tell you – well, that was no easy feat on my part, but I agreed!! I mean, I LOVE going to the little beach house with my Sweetie, so I figured my “freedom” would be a small price to pay for a weekend getaway.

Well, my Sweetie DID NOT disappoint!!

We got out to the beach house and from that point on, my Sweetie had everything planned, paid for, and my every need taken care of! WHAT A FABULOUS MAN!!!

One of the big surprises of the weekend for me was that my Sweetie took me to a light house. Actually, he took me to the Yaquina Head Lighthouse, the tallest light house in Oregon.

Yaquina Head Lighthouse

We had a lot of fun taking our turn to walk up the 114 steps to see the panoramic view from the very top.

114 Steps to the Top

The views were spectacular, and my fabulously patient Sweetie let me just take pictures of all of the gorgeous surroundings without rushing me at all, what a treat!

The view from the top

This particular outing actually helped me cross of something from My Life List item #719. Thank you very much Sweetie!!!

On to our next outing, and one that my husband and I MUST do EVERY time we go out to the little beach house, can you guess what it is??? A USED BOOK STORE!!! No, let me rephrase that, THE BEST LITTLE USED BOOKSTORE IN ALL OF THE OREGON COAST!!! It is a little place with a HUGE heart, called Robert’s Bookshop. They sell all kinds of used books in ever genre imaginable! My husband and I have been going to this bookstore for at least 10 years, if not longer! and of course, I spent waaaaaay too much money, and bought waaaaaay too many books!! I am just going to have to admit it that I am going to need to purchase more bookshelves!!! 😉 Of course, I must confess that I did soooo much book shopping on the rainy day that we hid out there, that I did not take one single solitary picture of our 4 or 5 hour stay at that this FABULOUS place. (I did mention that my Sweetie was patient, didn’t I?? THIS IS PROOF!!!)

My Favorite Place in the World!

Tomorrow I will tell you more about our trip to the coast!

TREASURE HUNTING!!!!

Have a FABULOUS evening!!
