I am really excited to tell you how the weekend with my dad and I at the beach house went!! We had sooo much fun, and really crammed a lot into a really short time!!
We met in Lincoln City at the casino, had dinner, and headed straight over to the little beach house. After deciding who was sleeping where, we headed over to the ocean front, where we just spent some time taking in the ocean. Later that evening my Dad and I decided to head over to the local movie theater, where we watched The Karate Kid, which my dad and I both agreed was a really good movie!!
The next morning, we went out to breakfast, then off to do a little shopping!!! You know that is one of my FAVORITE PASTIMES!!
A few of the treasures I found:
A vintage silk, Parisian hat box
A fur scarf – I know it is tre-risque, but I LOVE this scarf, and I figure that I am doing my part to recycle! š
A Vintage fashion magazine, circe 1929 – I am sooooo in LOVE with this magazine!!
and finally, I found this little gold compact that is a mirror with a hidden lipstick holder! So sweet and VERY AUDREY!!! I have to see if I can find a mini lipstick mold and make my own lipstick to put in this compact!!! I just HAVE to find a way to use this!!
After antiquing, my dad and I made a quick run to the used book store, and I ended up walking away empty handed – LONG STORY!! but, oh well! I made up for that today, by making a LOOOONG stop over at the Goodwill over here and picking up some tomes for my reading pleasure!!!
Anyway, my dad and I went back to the beach house and took a nice nap! When I woke up I decided to head out to the beach one last time before it got too late. The weather was absolutely perfect!! Sunny, slight breeze – we couldn’t have asked for nicer weather!!
While I was out, I stopped at the grocery store to pick up some groceries for dinner that night, and heard from the grocer that the casino was putting on a huge firework display and that it would be starting in less than an hour and a half. So, I went back to the beach house, and told Dad about the fireworks, and he was TOTALLY IN!!!
After dinner, we went over and got some of the best seats outside of the casino, and sat back and we both thoroughly enjoyed the fireworks display! It was better than what we normally see a the 4th of July. The casino was celebrating it’s 15th anniversary. I am so glad they were – WE HAD A BLAST (no pun intended)!!! š
After that, my dad and I went a played a few slots. After winning $1.75, yes, I know – I declined a security escort because I figured I would be safe walking to the car as long as I moved quickly! *WINK!* we headed back to the beach house!!!
On our last morning of the weekend, my dad and I headed to Newport so that we could go to church, and then we went out for a nice lunch together! BTW, I did get that interview I was so hoping for – I will post that tomorrow!!! š
I love my dad, and I am just sooo thankful that he is in my life, and that we have such a fun time whenever we get together! I know that this weekend will be one that I will cherish in my memory for the rest of my life – I hope that it is not the last!!
Here are some more of my ocean pictures I took this weekend! š
Have a FABULOUS evening! š
I am so glad you guys had fun. I thought about both of all weekend. I really enjoyed the video that he took of the fireworks and at the beach for me. He really knows how much I love the ocean. I guess that is what happens when you grow up in a land locked state.
Hopefully you guys will have many more daddy/daughter outings to come.
Yes, I am glad he was able to get that video – my pics didn’t turn out too well, so I will have to steal some from him!! LOL!!!
and yes, I would love to have more outings with him in the future – he is such a fun guy to hang out with, but you know that already don’t you?? š
Love,
Chrissy š
