Halloween Night!!!

Happy Halloween!!

Jason and I have pretty much been having a quiet day at home, which has been very nice!!! My sister-in-law came over and we watched the movie ‘The Proposal’, which we all had fun laughing through! 🙂 Jason made his killer grilled chicken legs – they are really PHENOMENAL!!! Anyone who tries them are always just so surprised, but not me – he really has become a genius in the kitchen and at the grill! God bless that man!!!! 😉

Anyway, I have been keeping myself really busy. I have so many things on life’s to do list and I am just soooo determined to get each and every one of them done! The biggies on the list right now are losing over 100 pounds, flossing and making our bed every day for 365 days straight, take Jason on a surprise trip, reading and following The Success Principles, and I have been taking some big steps to make sure that wealth, true wealth is in my future!!

Tomorrow, after making my bed, flossing my teeth, and going to the gym, Jason and I have to take our laundry over to my sister-in-laws. Our washing machine has been possessed and for some reason has decided to misbehave and spew water all over our laundry room! UGH!!! That is alright, it just gives an excuse to look for a new set, it may take a little while, but it will be worth it!!!

Anyway, I am going to watch some tele with my husband and do some crafting at the same time!!! I am still trying to learn how to knit!!! I am working on a scarf (another thing on my list!!!)

Have a FABULOUS night!!! I will chat again soon!!!

Daily Update!

WE HAVE BUTTERFLIES!!! That is sooo cool! This is one of my Life List goals, and it was a lot messier than I thought it was going to be, but it is soooo cool to se my little butterflies flying around their habitat!!! YEAH!!!

Anyway, I have been working on getting through the book Success Principles by Jack Canfield. The book’s tagline “How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be” is really what drew me to this book, but let me tell you, this book is such a GREAT resource!! I am taking the book chapter by chapter and trying to get each idea into practice before I move onto the next chapter, which is making for a long read, but at the same time a LIFE CHANGING read!!! I have started mind-mapping this morning, which I think will really help me because I am so visual; it just puts everything I want in perspective! I will have to take a picture of today’s mind-map tonight and I will attach it to this post so you can see what I am doing. Last night’s chapter was chapter 19. “Use Feedback to Your Advantage”. This chapter is going to be pretty hard for me to put into action. I am not sure I am ready to hear feedback from others, but I am going to take a leap of faith and just throw a couple of questions out there – “How do you see me limiting myself?” and “In your opinion, how can I be a better (insert role here, ex. friend, wife, sister, etc)?” Scary, but I will let you know in the next few days how that goes!!!

Anyway, I am determined to be on time this morning, so I am going to keep this short!!! I will talk to you later!!! 🙂

I’m Sick!

I am sooooo sick and tired of being sick and tired!!! I have a fierce head-cold that is just kicking my butt!!! I am sooooo ready to be well and chipper again!!! I am going to load up on cold medicine, and slip back into bed!!

I got a code in my node!!!

Weigh-In Day Results!

Yeah! Hoo! Sometimes you just have to be thankful for the little things, and I do mean little!! I am down .8 pounds as of yesterday morning, which is my actual weigh-in day!!! So, I am going to take that as a huge success for this week!!! 🙂

My sister Jennifer and Trina and our brother-in-law Austin drove up last night!!! My sisters, including Nette are getting really excited to go to Women of Faith up in Portland tomorrow!! This will be Nette’s 4th year attending, my 3rd, Jennifer’s 2nd, and Trina’s 1st.

Daily Update!

Well, I got to cross one of my life list items off today!! That feels pretty cool! The goal was to Get a bouquet of fresh flowers every week for an entire month, which I was able to do!!! My sweetie even brought me my last bouquet in honor of my birthday week!! YEAH BIRTHDAYS!!! 😉

Anyway, this goal was not about spending money on myself, although for the entire month all 4 bouquets cost me about $40 at my local farmers’ market! This challenge was about recognizing that I am worth going out of my way to pamper myself! I don’t need to wait for anyone to baby me, sometimes I can just baby myself!!!

One week the the bouquetwas sooo large that my office-mate helped turn one into 2 bouquets – THANK YOU, C!!!

Anyway, I will be back again tomorrow, since it is weigh-in day!!!
Wish me luck!!!

Butterfly Challenge

When I went to the butterfly zoo with my sweetie and neice, I purchased a caterpillar grow kit that contains 5 Painted Lady butterfly catterpillars, also known as Cosmopolitains! (Don’t you just LOVE that name!???)  I was surprised to discover that these things grow soooo fast!!! They have almost doubled in size every single day!!! EEK!!! They were cute, but now I realize that they are creepy crawling bugs that are crawling right next to my head. EEEK! But really, they are just sooo fascinating! I find that I have a hard time reading before bed because I keep catching myself watching them!!! I will have to take pictures and see if I can get them to show clearly!!! Anyway, I think they will be metamorphasizing in about a week or 2 – YEAH!! I can’t wait!!!

I have an excerpt of a really cool website that tells you all about this caterpillars lifespan The Wonderful Painted Lady Butterfly:

Four Stages of a Painted Lady Butterfly:

  1. The Egg (3 to 5 days) Adult female butterflies lay their eggs on plants that Painted Lady caterpillars like to eat, like thistle. The eggs are the size of a pin head, each one containing a caterpillar beginning to grow.
  2. The Larva or caterpillar comes out! (5 to 10 days) The hungry caterpillar uses its strong jaws to munch through leaves, eating constantly and growing quickly. As it eats, the caterpillar’s skin gets tighter. Soon it sheds this tight skin, emerging with new skin underneath. Each caterpillar changes skin four times before it’s fully grown. After three weeks, this hairy, black and yellow caterpillar stops growing – it’s almost 2 inches long!
  3. The chrysalis – metamorphosis begins. (7 to 10 days) The caterpillar finds a safe place to rest. With a silk thread that comes out of a hole just below its mouth (spinneret), the caterpillar spins a silk pad to attach to. The caterpillar hangs from this pad. Soon, the caterpillars’ skin splits open, from head to abdomen, revealing a shiny green case underneath – the chrysalis.
    • What is happening in the chrysalis? Inside the chrysalis, the caterpillar is becoming completely liquid and reforming itself into a butterfly. The butterfly pushes from inside and slowly struggles out, until the case splits open.
  4. The butterfly emerges! (2 weeks) When the butterfly first emerges from the chrysalis, its wings are soft and crumpled. The tired butterfly rests, and then slowly unfolds its wings to dry. After a few hours, the butterfly will be ready to fly. The Painted Lady Butterfly has a 2-week life span. During that time, its main goal is to reproduce and lay eggs so the cycle can begin again!

Daily Update!

Good morning!

I am getting ready to get my day going! It is going to be a typical day for me, except that I have a new aerobics class to go to tonight at 5 o’clock, and I am little nervous about it! I am not really sure what to expect, and I am worried that I will not be able to keep up or make through an entire class! That is alright, I am determined to eventually figure it all out! I have a long way to go, but I am taking helpful steps to get there!! YEAH!!!

Anyway, Jason and I went out with my sis-in-law and her kids a couple of weeks ago to get pictures taken at Deepwood Estates. I thought I would share a few of them with you! 🙂

The first picture (above) from left to right; Our nephew Morgan, my sweetie Jason, Me, my neice Megan, and my sis-in-law Nette.
