A Weekend of Fun (Take III)

“The Pickle Lady”
Jason was expecting to be able to eat a pickle from the pickle lady’s bosom, well the times they are-a changing, and the pickle lady, although she totes her pickles in her ample bosom she no longer lets you nibble from them – so to speak!!! Anyway, here is my sweetie with the pickle boobed woman!!!! 😉

A weekend of fun!!!

This weekend has been such a blast!!!! As I mentioned earlier, Jason and I were going to attend a Shabat dinner, which we did and Sharon’s parents are just the coolest! We felt right at home as soon as we walked through their front dor. I also said that they were going to serve Kuku-Miduku, and I was terrified what this mystery name was going to actually be and what the heck was I supposed to do if I ended up not liking it. Well, imagine my surprise when I LOVED IT!!! It is basically enchiladas! – I know my sister Alex would absolutely LOVE IT TOO! I will have to make it when she comes and visit during Christmas.

Ok, the next day, we got up nice and early and headed out to the farmer’s market and the produce was just amazing! It is amazing how a beautiful lipstick pepper and a sunshine melon can make someone so happy!!!! Yum!!!
😉

We then went to the Shrewsberry Festival and it was a lot of fun. It was very much like a historical reinactment vs a D&Ders heaven, which is what I was concerned about. We were able to get so many pictures, and although Jason was dissapointed that there wasn’t any honey mead (what’s up with that?), he did get to enjoy a bowl of haggis – sheep guts in intestines, if I was told correctly!?! – Aaron and Sharon were the perfect hosts and I laughed all weekend with them!!!!

NEXT STOP: Pittock Mansion in Portland! Ooh! I just love that place and I know that Sharon will love it too!!! 🙂 Anyway, I am heading off to bed! I will tell you more about our weekend tomorrow night!

Aloha nui loa,
Christina 🙂

A Weekend of New Cultures!!!

Tonight Jason and I are going to a friend’s parent’s house for our very first Shabat dinner. It is going to be fun!!! I am not sure what to expect, but I do know that we are having KuKu-Miduku. Of course I have absolutely no idea how to spell that!!!!!

Then tomorrow we are going to go to the farmer’s market in Corvallis and then to the Shrewsberry Festival, which is a renaissance fair! Jason is looking forward to devouring a large pickle from the bosom of a well endowed wench! (One of the treats, so I hear at this particular event!) 😉

Hopefully I will have pictures that I will be able to post on Monday!
Here’s to trying new and fun things!!!
